“My wife and I found ourselves stuck in Cambridge as a result of certain family entanglements. We were feeling glum with no bright options for spending the evening. THEN.... we stumbled into Pammys and things went technicolor. We were seated at the southeast end of bar and were almost immediately sipping a 29 degree Martini and an Oaxaca Old Fashioned. In addition to being a really great bar full of fashionable, chatty and probably interesting local people, Pammy's also has a full menu of really great food including asparagus served with a cured egg yolk and a circle of something very tasty that resembles a large egg white cut into a slice. We also tried crispy mushrooms, some fish, pasta, bread pudding and some really delicious bread (which is offered free of charge, at least at the bar.) The staff of the restaurant, including a woman who I believe was the Eponymous Pammy of Pammys, were all very friendly and made us feel welcome being in Cambridge. We met a very nice person from Maine which was another exciting wrinkle to the experience. We will definitely go back the next time life throws us a curveball and we are stuck in the Boston metro area. A big thanks to Pammys for salvaging our night!”

Not only did they very kindly fit us in on a Friday night, the food and service was absolutely excellent. Top notch food and drink, great vibes. Will absolutely be back. Special shout-out to their incredible co-owner who very kindly sent me my Project Paulie hat I left there by accident. You guys are the truly the best! THANK YOU!”
“So many gluten free options! The service was fast and the food was delicious. All the gluten free items came out marked as gluten free: highly recommend the gluten free dumplings!”
“It was an enjoyable lunch overall. The wait initially between placing an order and the appetizers coming out was a bit long but once the appetizers came out, the rest of the meal came out quickly too, with generous portions. All three of us left VERY full and barely could finish the three noodle soups and two appetizers!”

“Been here many times. I legit think the French toast here is the best I've ever had (and I have had a lot of French toast). It's so perfectly fried, and there are many delicious topping choices. My favorite I've tried is the seasonal pumpkin one in the fall. Bit of a sweetness overload though, can't finish it all. But hot tip: they do half portions of French toast so you can combine it with something savory. I also like their sandwiches, biscuits, and home fries. Despite a lot of love for their pancakes, I'd say they are just fine. Mixed experiences with service are making me dock a star. Sometimes they are very slow and inattentive. Even with reservations, they sometimes make you wait a good bit for a table. I guess it makes sense since this place is SO busy. Without reservations, the wait on weekends is insane. So def recommend making one or coming on a weekday.”
“The food was delicious and experience was mind-blowing. I loved the small plates concept and got to try so many different dishes. Every bite was extremely flavorful and delicious. Za'atar bread was to die for. Staff was EXTREMELY polite!They were also very conscious of allergens and accommodated and offered allergan-free options.Place is a bit small and crowded but nothing too inconvenient.”

“I liked this brewery. The interior design was kind of industrial noir but with a friendly feeling and the layout for seating was done well. Very excited I got a seat at the window bar top. Bar staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They had a unique selection of beer, a few good choices with high ABV, and some beer types I’ve never heard of. I didn’t get one but they do offer flights. They also had a selection of games you could play at your table. The street parking was tricky but that’s because of the Cambridge and not the brewery’s fault.”
“"This is not a ramen shop, it is a dream shop." Despite only one menu item - pork ramen (as of 3/24/24, modifications may be accomodated) - I was pleasantly surprised by how good the ramen was. The ramen is has thick chewy noodles with big pieces of pork. The broth is fatty with a few globs of flat floating. Per request, it can be topped with a healthy serving of garlic. The ramen was a tad bit salty, but I managed to finish the broth. The only downside is that it is relatively more expensive than other restaurants ($17 for two pieces of pork, $20 for 5 pieces). The portions are large enough to satisfy your hunger, I promise! At one point, the chef paused plating the food to share his background and inspiration for starting the "Dream shop". I will keep that information confidential for those who wish to visit and hear it from him directly. It inspired me to take the next step in my own life. Enjoy!Things to know:1) Expect to wait in line outside the shop for approx 10-15 mins at best. Seating was accommodated in intervals of 3-5 people when I went. This is indicative of how good the food is, but be prepared during the winter months;2) There is only one menu item (as of my visit on 3/24/24), pork ramen, where you can choose from 2 pieces or 5 pieces of pork (choose the latter) - this takes away from the headache of choosing from a list of items;3) Expect seating to feel a little more intimate - the seats are in rows of 3, with approx 6 chairs per row, facing the chef;4) Expect to be asked if you would like to share a "dream" - this can be something that you wish to accomplish or do within your lifetime, or the year. After your meal, the restaurant will have a moment of silence for you to share your dream with everyone.5) Utensils are self-service - be sure to grab yourself a cup of water, chop sticks, napkins, or whatever you need in the back of the shop after you have placed your order and are seated.”

It was missing something.The beet salad and the lamb chop are a must!The slow braised pork with rice and salad is good, too.We never got our ropa vieja even though we ordered it. When the bill came out, we noticed that we were charged with ropa vieja. We spoke to our waitor and he took off the bill.Service was good. The meals came out fast for the most part until the ropa vieja. My drink came out with a broken piece of glass at the bottom, so it was fine. It wasn't in the drink.Overall, the food was good. It does get busy on the weekend. Good date place. The food prices were reasonable. FYI, there is a kitchen service fee when you get your bill.There are plenty of parking spaces in the back.”

I had decided to come here in a pinch to satiate my growing hunger, and it did not disappoint.The waiter was helpful and nice, and the environment was quite lovely. I was seated in a booth with my group, and I ordered the New york Bianca with Italian sausage and hot honey. The pizza was absolutely delicious and I couldn't recommend more. The other pizzas looked great as well.I can not speak on the appetizers as we did not order any. However, they looked good too.5/5”

Lots of seats to spread out and many people were working on laptops when we were there, but also many people having conversations. It wasn't too loud. We got breakfast burritos, flavorful drip coffee, and a delicious almond milk latte. Didn't get to try the cookies but they looked amazing. The food was superb and the staff are awesome! Easy spot to bike to.”

“I recently visited Brookline Lunch in Cambridge on a busy Sunday afternoon for brunch and the place was packed--there was even a line outside! To expedite the wait, I strategically left my partner holding our spot while I popped over to a nearby ATM for cash, knowing this spot is cash-only. After about 30-40 minutes, we were finally seated inside. Despite the crowd, the restaurant exuded a cozy, homely atmosphere. I started off with a Turkish coffee, which was akin to a condensed espresso but had a wonderfully aromatic effect. It was not quite my cup of tea/coffee but I'm more of a latte fan. I could still appreciate the artistry of it and enjoyed trying something different. For my main course, I opted for the spicy sausage shakshuka, and I thought it was a unique take on the dish. Unlike any shakshuka I've had elsewhere, this version felt more like a hearty breakfast bowl, with fewer tomato sauce but packed with all my favorite ingredients--potatoes, sausage, poached eggs, garbanzo, carrots, and delicious naan bread. We read a review that recommended the chili oil sauce and requested some. It added a nice kick to the bowl. We also decided to order the Baklava pancakes to share. While undeniably delicious, they were extremely sweet, with the top pancake boasting generous toppings of pistachio and baklava. It's a unique dish and a must-have for those with a sweet tooth, but personally, I preferred the savory shakshuka. Overall, I highly recommend everyone to try Brookline Lunch at least once. I'll certainly be back, but perhaps when the lines aren't as daunting!”

Hailey was our server, and was absolutely amazing. She brought over paper menus to make it easier, as my father didn’t have his phone with him. She was attentive, engaging, and just a joy to be around. She treated each able as if they were her only table, and was great at explaining and offering suggestions. We will definitely be back!!”

For appetizers, we got the cornbread and their croquettes. Both were tasty and had their unique flavors. For entree, both my mother and sister got the mushroom risotto, my father got the scallops, and i got the panini. This has to be one of the best french dip panini's out there. 100% would recommend!!! I wish they had this exact place back in Miami! When we come back, we are totally coming back here :)”

My friend was able to get a hot tea for 89 cents. The restaurant was clean and had a good atmosphere. All in all, it was a very good experience.”

The fish tasted fresh but could have used some more acidity. - Fried hen-of-the-woods mushrooms: Nice, crisp, and well seasoned. - Sautéed heirloom carrots: The carrots were nicely cooked but the glaze was a bit too sweet. - Seared scallops: The scallops were perfectly seared and paired well with the lentils and sauce. - Phyllo-wrapped cod: We were surprised how crispy this was even though it was sitting in the sauce. The lobster stew was full of flavor. One of our favorites of the night. - Seafood risotto: The risotto was well cooked but the dish could have included more seafood. - Lemon pepper half chicken: The juices of the chicken soaked into the beets to make a delicious bite.”

We ended up getting the empanada trio, the Pabellon Criollo (which I did not realize also had plantains), the maracuchitos and the tostones. Yes, all the plantains in the menu. It kind of happened by accident but it worked out great. We got our food incredibly fast! Everything was delicious. However, the tostones and the empanadas were my favorite. The salmon and Tuna Tartar is delicious, but unbelievably small and honestly not worth the $19. We ordered it to hold us over while waiting for friends who were running behind. It is bare 4 actual bites. We learned from our waiter that most of the items we initially wanted were tiny. This is a really cute spot with an open kitchen which is cool to look into, and the bar tender is great at creating new drink concoctions.”

We started with miso soup that was excellent, a large salad that we shared with horseradish dressing, and a bowl of rice. The Korean BBQ uses charcoal which gives the meat a more authentic flavor. The meat was thinly sliced and marinated before cooking. Korean BBQ grills are designed to be used indoors, and when the grill started getting pieces of food stuck, our waitress, removed the grill and gave us a new grill. There were three sauces to enjoy with the meat which were teriyaki, ponzu, and spicy sauce. We very much enjoyed the experience, and spent two hours enjoying our meal. My colleague is from Seoul, and she knows an authentic barbecue restaurant, and I chose the restaurant because of all the positive reviews. We will be back again! Good service and upscale casual environment. * Apps: salmone affumicato, panzanella salad. The salmon was nicely smoked but a bit boring. Panzanella was meh but I generally don't like salads. * Entrees: rigatoni norcina, veal scaloppini. The rigatoni was perfectly al dente with the yummiest truffle cream sauce. SKIP the veal--so chewy and weird, almost like dog food. * Desserts: torta di mirtilli, panna cotta. Both nice but I preferred the panna cotta.”

We had the chicken wings, beet salad, and slow-roasted half chicken and it was mind blowing. The service was excellent and attentive even on a very busy Saturday night. I visited the bar on St. Patrick's Day, and from the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The restaurant faces south, so the sun was pouring in, and the vibe was just perfect. The owner greeted us with a smile and showed us to our seats right away. And let me tell you, the menu had something for everyone - even the pickiest of eaters would find something to love here. Since it was St. Paddy's Day, we went all out and ordered the corned beef and cabbage and fish and chips, and boy, were they delicious! I've never had corned beef and cabbage that tasted so good, and the fish and chips were fried to perfection. But that's not even the best part - a live band started playing at 4 PM, and the music was fantastic (I can't recall the band that was there tonight but it was Bon Iver Vibes A++). They have live music every Sunday. It's a top-notch spot that I can't wait to go back to again and again.”

“Probably like many others, I found myself snacking all the time now that COVID-19 has us home 24/7, so I was in search of some healthy snacks made locally that I could have delivered to my home. So thrilled I thought of Nüssli118. I had previously attended a vegan dinner at her retail location in Cambridge and loved it. I wanted to try everything so I ordered the gluten-free bites (ginger spice and pumpkin spice), her sprouted nut clusters, ginger lemon squares, and her new vanilla spice overnight oats. The gluten-free bites satisfies my cookie cravings without the sugar crash. The nut clusters were awesome, I couldn’t decide if I liked the maple or salted caramel flavors best so I found myself alternating. They were the perfect late night snack. But the winner was the overnight oats- YUM. It was super easy to make- just add a cup of milk (we did unsweetened almond milk) in a jar, toss them in the fridge and voila- you’ve got breakfast with no effort. If you’re looking for healthy snacks while we aren’t able to go to the gym and you want to support a small business, this is the place to order. All of her products are gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan. Even though I’m not a vegan, I love to eat raw foods because they give me energy without the crash or late night cravings. Highly recommend you try everything at first because it’s all unexpected and delicious.”

“Great food but lately El Jefe's is taking a hit on bad reviews due to @GrubHub's poor ordering system with algorithm issues which I have brought to their attention, and seems they still haven't fixed since I placed an order months prior. On 3 separate occasions on the same date and time I received my order incorrect. When I compared the order from my GrubHub account against the receipt received from El Jefe's, it was determined I was missing many items from my burrito bowl. I contacted GrubHub in which they kept refunding me, and I also mentioned the issue. I ordered El Jefe's 2 more times and the same error occurred both times. I could see once they mess up the order due to reading it wrong but not 3x. El Jefe's only puts an order together based on the ordering slips they receive from GrubHub, so if something is off with GrubHub's ordering system that is what the restaurant is receiving and thus creating the order from. As much as these food delivery services are ripping off these restaurants, they got a nerve to make the restaurant take accountability for their mess ups and ordering errors. They're already scamming these vendors out of $$$ and continue to affect these companies in a negative manner. Time for these vendors to go back to the old delivery ways and cut the greedy middle man! These good delivery services are a total rip off with their high fees, whacked discounts that don't add up, and lack of customer service.”

“I recently visited Brookline Lunch in Cambridge on a busy Sunday afternoon for brunch and the place was packed--there was even a line outside! To expedite the wait, I strategically left my partner holding our spot while I popped over to a nearby ATM for cash, knowing this spot is cash-only. After about 30-40 minutes, we were finally seated inside. Despite the crowd, the restaurant exuded a cozy, homely atmosphere. I started off with a Turkish coffee, which was akin to a condensed espresso but had a wonderfully aromatic effect. It was not quite my cup of tea/coffee but I'm more of a latte fan. I could still appreciate the artistry of it and enjoyed trying something different. For my main course, I opted for the spicy sausage shakshuka, and I thought it was a unique take on the dish. Unlike any shakshuka I've had elsewhere, this version felt more like a hearty breakfast bowl, with fewer tomato sauce but packed with all my favorite ingredients--potatoes, sausage, poached eggs, garbanzo, carrots, and delicious naan bread. We read a review that recommended the chili oil sauce and requested some. It added a nice kick to the bowl. We also decided to order the Baklava pancakes to share. While undeniably delicious, they were extremely sweet, with the top pancake boasting generous toppings of pistachio and baklava. It's a unique dish and a must-have for those with a sweet tooth, but personally, I preferred the savory shakshuka. Overall, I highly recommend everyone to try Brookline Lunch at least once. I'll certainly be back, but perhaps when the lines aren't as daunting!”
“Been here many times. I legit think the French toast here is the best I've ever had (and I have had a lot of French toast). It's so perfectly fried, and there are many delicious topping choices. My favorite I've tried is the seasonal pumpkin one in the fall. Bit of a sweetness overload though, can't finish it all. But hot tip: they do half portions of French toast so you can combine it with something savory. I also like their sandwiches, biscuits, and home fries. Despite a lot of love for their pancakes, I'd say they are just fine. Mixed experiences with service are making me dock a star. Sometimes they are very slow and inattentive. Even with reservations, they sometimes make you wait a good bit for a table. I guess it makes sense since this place is SO busy. Without reservations, the wait on weekends is insane. So def recommend making one or coming on a weekday.”
