“This place is worth taking the time to review! We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch. Meg, our server (and also the owner’s mom) was friendly and kind and recommended the homemade grilled bread- which was delicious. My husband enjoyed the Reuben with homemade corned beef hash and I also had the chowder. Clean, affordable, good food, and great service. One thing to know, cash only- but they do have an atm.“
“A unique experience. Great food fast. Food and service could not be better. Prices are more than reasonable. Variety is incredible. You can get almost any breakfast item you can think of. Never seen a restaurant deliver (food, service and price) like Grumpy's. I live up the street but would drive a distance to eat there!“
“Our group of 4 visited the Scargo Cafe as newcomers, and the experience was even better than we had heard! First off, the Cape in early-March is practically shutdown for the winter, so finding an open restaurant is a challenge in itself. But not only was Scargo Cafe open, it was a quite filled with customers. Nonetheless, the service was prompt, friendly and experienced. Drinks orders were taken within a couple minutes and delivered soon thereafter (nice selection of wines and draft beers!). The menu had a wide diversity of choices, quite impressive. We ordered the special beef stir fry, grilled swordfish with rice/asparagus, and shrimp asian salad (w/ almonds+cranberries). Topped off by grape-nut custard (a house specialty). Everything was excellent and filling. Will certainly return when back to the Cape.“
“In April, we attended a wine dinner at the Pheasant with Patrick Cappiello, winemaker, of Monte Rio Cellars who presented his wines along side Executive Chef Andrew Reilly's most delectable dishes. The evening was beyond expectations! Lovely pours of wines while Patrick shared his history and wine techniques. The plentiful platters are served family style. The former owners, Bill and Denise Atwood, found the perfect young couple to hand their beloved restaurant to. We loved meeting like-minded oneophiles and look forward to many more such evenings.“
“We happened to be driving by looking for a place for breakfast and stopped here and I'm SO glad we did. We loved it. The food was delicious, service was prompt and friendly, and prices were reasonable. I had an omelette and my husband had the Lobster Benedict and we were both extremely happy with our meals. It's a cozy place where you can enjoy breakfast without feeling like you're being rushed out the door. We will definitely be returning to try some additional dishes. Highly recommend.“
“I have been annually vacationing in Dennis for over 40 years. Where have you been all my life?! We went this year with our adult sons and we all agree that our food was unique, amazing, and worth every single penny. Outstanding service, ambience, and the food is above and beyond. We can't wait to come back for more.“
“I was there with my MA family for Easter dinner and we were all very satisfied with the atmosphere, service and food!Three of the adults ordered off of the Easter menu, one from the Tavern menu and the 3 kids got the chicken fingers and fries. I was the only one needing a to go container for the rest of my risotto, and that was after the other 3 adults tried it! There was a lot of risotto and I was happy to take it home for later!Vegetarian options: I opted for the vegetarian risottoKid-friendliness: 3 boys under 12 and they had a great time with crayons and their yummy food!“
“Decent enough place to get a sandwich. They were good enough but not enough to rate five stars.Gotta ask. Why do you have to put in sooo much mayonnaise in your chicken salad. Do you think people really like it or is it just to save money?“
“We are looking to buy a home in the Dennis- Yarmouth area. We will be back for lunch around 2 tomorrow 3-2-2024. We found your restaurant last month while shopping at Marshall's. Everything was excellent, food, drinks , waitress I have to say thou how impressed we were with your host. What a nice young man, very polite and well mannered. Kudos to his parents. “We went to dinner here on Friday 8.18.23 at about 7pm for our daughter's 27th Birthday. There were 5 of us in total. We were seated, right away, at a high top table- which was great. Our server was excellent. We ordered some drinks which came right away. My husband ordered a burger, I ordered the brisket sandwich. My daughter and her girlfriend ordered a pasta dish and buffalo chicken. Our son got chicken tenders. My husband, son and my dishes came out first. The server went to get the girls dishes. During that time my husband cut his burger in half. It was absolutely raw. He ordered medium. When the server returned with the other meals he looked at the burger and said "did you order it mooing?". We laughed and he took it back to the kitchen. All perfectly fine. When he returned with a new burger that was not raw, a manager was with him. The server was gracious and kind, apologizing for the error and said he is taking the burger off the check. The manager then stepped forward, and in a VERY rude tone asked my husband to cut his burger, and said "I want to make sure you aren't going to send it back again".It comes off ok when I write it out, but believe me when I say... it was said in a rude and condescending tone.My husband kept his cool, even though I know he wanted to tell that manager to shove the burger where the sun doesn't shine. It was our daughters dinner and we did not want to make an issue. They did take the burger off the bill, which we appreciated the SERVER very much. The 2nd burger was just OK. The kids ate their meals, which they reported as "pretty good". My brisket was pretty bland, but saved by the horseradish sauce which was delicious. We won't go back. Even if the food was amazing, we didn't like the feeling of being talked to like that from anyone, never mind management.I'd like to stress again, it sounds in writing like the manager was just making sure my husband was happy with the newly cooked burger... which would have been appreciated. He was RUDE. He was visually annoyed and had a wicked tone. We were embarrassed, like he was implying we got the 1st burger and some how reversed the cooking process to make it raw and complain. Funny, it was our SERVER who said first that our burger was still Mooing!!!!Anyways, I know less than great reviewers get torn apart so I have thought over a week about if I would review. I decided I'd rather give an honest review about an ok meal with a great server and a terrible manager, than not say a thing.“
“Went for the second time a couple of week ago. Judy was our server and she was great. Prompt, friendly, very knowledgeable with good suggestions, including GF for my mother. Had the traditional cod, which was delicious. Slightly too salty for me but perfectly cooked piece of fish. Lots of good broccoli and beans too, which weren't overcooked. My parents really enjoyed their choices too. Nice Cape Cod vibe in the restaurant. Look forward to going back.“
