“We booked a rehearsal dinner here. Food and service were great. As a former function manager, the head chef was very unprofessional. He should not be the main point of contact to book a function. My mother in law sent a cc for deposit information months in advance to which she received no response. Since she was in charge of the rehearsal dinner I did not check back in until closer to the date. I emailed John to confirm the menu to which his response was "You never sent a deposit" etc. all using accusatory words. I immediately sent over the email my mother in law forwarded me with the deposit information she sent 5 months prior to which she received no response. Had I known there was no response I would have called sooner. I called after John's email and spoke to Eric who was a great help. All was fixed and went well, but please have another point of contact for functions who is equipped to speak with the general public. There were so many ways to go about speaking with the bride and John's approach was not one of them.“

They bump the best playlists, joke with you, discuss taste preferences, honor allergies, and are actually excited to provide a good dining experience. It's truly a neighborhood gem that I want to gatekeep so badly but will not because everyone deserves this level of stellar dining and the team here deserves to succeed! The food is funky with a heavy focus on fermentation along with honing culinary techniques from around the world without trying to put out “Asian food” or “Latin cuisine” or “fusion”, just their own creations. They make spirits in house (turns out I can like vermouth!) and source wines from places most others restaurants don’t dare to cover. It’s where I bring all my visitors if I can snag a table!“

“Booked a heated yurt for my daughter's birthday. Outside cold and windy. Inside warm and toasty with blankets. Great decorations. Spacious table. Service was 5 star despite being outside and the need to zip and unzip. Food was excellent. From apps to dinner and drinks. Everyone was happy. Menu can satisfy most accommodations. “Having dined at Basil Restaurant last night, I must say the ambiance was top-notch. The dim lighting and cozy seating made for a pleasant atmosphere. However, the service was a bit slow, as it took quite some time for our food to arrive. Nonetheless, when the dishes finally made their way to our table, they were delicious. I particularly enjoyed the basil-infused pasta, which was bursting with flavor. The prices were reasonable considering the quality of the food, but I do wish the portions were a tad larger. Overall, Basil Restaurant offers a decent dining experience with room for improvement in service efficiency.“

My friend had the “plain Jane” pizza which was great too! Definitely a “go to” in the neighborhood. Drinks were excellent, a white sangria and a razz lemonade!“

“Another classy dinner out right here in Norwood. When told we were celebrating a special occasion, the waiter brought complementary dessert with a personalized message in chocolate sauce calligraphy (One Bistro has a pastry chef)! Salads are generous, so we split one; I had shrimp scampi because I like the rock shrimp they have. My date enjoyed the steak frites, and brought home about half for lunch the next day. “As a local, Ive been coming here since they opened. Always top notch service, ingredients and atmosphere.. the staff allwork very hard to bring a higher experience. Including staying after they’re technically closed to let people finish at will. The prices reflect a local farm like fresh menu, so yes its a tad higher than your average breakfast/brunch joint. Also! dont forget about the craft cocktails and coffees. pro-tip : park in the back lot and walk up thru the walkway.“

“I love this place. My friends introduced it to me when I first moved to the area and my husband, son, and I have been going ever since. They do dollar oysters every day until 5:30pm, which is hard to find these days. It's the best deal in town! We also love the poutine and there's usually a few great local/seasonal beers on draft. Great atmosphere and the guys who work here are friendly, efficient, and helpful. Highly recommend!“

“Solid, reliable neighborhood spot serving approachable classics like fried chicken, fish, & steak. I can't say I've ever been blown away by any food or drink here, but haven't had anything that I didn't care for either, and overall have found it pretty consistent and am usually satisfied with my meal. The menu doesn't change a whole lot, and I'd personally love to see more rotating specials, specifically with a description of them online (the take-out portal saying something like "salmon special" doesn't really help describe what the dish is about?).“

We arrived here in a large group, and there was a lot going on—many tabs open, constant seat shifting, numerous children, etc. T, our waitress, was quite exceptional. She led the group so expertly and never missed a beat. We were quite pleased and heartily endorse!“

I watched 2 strangers at a 4 top invite 2 people that were waiting for a table to sit with them. The atmosphere was great. It is kid friendly. There was live music playing on a Sunday afternoon. Just the right level so you could talk and not yell. My daughter and I each started with a Shirley Temple. I'm a big kid at heart. For an appetizer we each got a cup of their creamy, buttery, thick and absolutely delicious clam chowder! My daughter got the baha burger. She really liked it. The fries were crisp with a nice spice. I had a stuffed quohog, this was served hot with butter and lemon. This was so good. I had the garlic parmesan chicken wings. These were crispy, juicy on the inside, and the flavors were delicious! Some of the best I've had. The entire time the staff was attentive and friendly. Definitely worth checking out!“

“We live in Natick and love Buttercup. That's why we were disappointed with our most recent experience. We stopped by on our way home to have a drink at the bar. There was one or two open seats so we figured one of us would sit and eventually another seat would open up. Only we were stopped by the hostess who told us other people (standing near the host station) had been waiting for bar seats. We were confused because we didn't realize that you couldn't just stand near the bar and have a drink (since we had done this in the past) and also we didn't know that you could even reserve seats at the bar. A couple weeks later we were walking by again and saw that there were many open seats at the bar but my boyfriend and I looked at each other and said, let's skip it. We are still just not feeling great about our last experience.“

Everything we had from the bakery was excellent but don’t let Anyone fool you into walking away after grabbing those.given that We did not get what we went all the way for, we then decided to stay for lunch and had excellent sandwiches and some very very good coffee. The malted milk mocha was worth mentioning in particular. The pizza oven looked very inviting, but we did not have anything from there. So that is definitely something to go back for. “Don't take my 4 as there's anything less than it was very good! A 5 for me requires an all around amazing experience v. what I would expect. It's my second time there. My guests were from Needham and go often. The staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is casual and warm. The food is very good. I've had the halibut both times and it was well prepared. Two of us split the Caesar salad but it really is sized for one. I will be back.“

“I'll admit it -- we are those people. The ones who weren't going to go out on Valentine's Day until we decided we were. And it turns out we weren't the only ones. The place is frequented by regulars for sure with a bar on one side and a slightly more formal sit down dining room on the other. When we arrived we waited for about 10 minutes and were seated at a high top near the bar area. During this time another couple got frustrated with the single waitress to be seen after she dropped off some food to them. This couple was not empathetic at all and then expressed that to the waitress in a condescending tone on what was probably one of the busiest nights there. The same woman was our waitress and it was clear she was running around from dining room to bar room without a single moment to catch her breath. She did great! Obviously the kitchen was swamped too but we knew to adjust our expectations accordingly for timing. Food was delicious, incredible value. Calamari was a generous portion and could definitely be a small family appetizer on its own. My husband commented that you will not find a steak for less than $35 in the area and I think this one was $25 or so? Truffle fries were excellent. I got the bolognese and it was comforting and a big portion. We'll definitely come back on a less busy night but overall it was a good experience!“

It was a little weird when we asked for takeout boxes, our server kept insisting on packing up our food for us instead of us packing it up ourselves. “D'Angelos Easton. I eat there almost every Thursday evening and get my usual terriaki steak sub. As always, it is perfect. The employees there are the nicest, most polite bunch of people. I am impressed that no matter how busy as it gets, these young adults always have this place running like a finely tuned watch. My food is always ready when I get there.
