“We had just booked our wedding venue in the Great Barrington area, and knew that many of our friends and family members would be arriving the night before and staying in Great Barrington. We wanted to throw a welcome party for everyone to get people mingling and having fun in a very casual and fun atmosphere. Cove Bowling and the Backstage Grill seemed absolutely perfect! I reserved the bowling lanes in April, and I was in contact with Robin about the food menu since the summer. She is phenomenal!!!!! We spoke on the phone many times… she’s so enthusiastic and ready to help and she had so much to offer. She and her daughter even decorated the tables for us, and went out of their way to help our guests give us a very sweet memento :) There were SOO many food options, and she was so accommodating to my guests with food allergies. We ended up with around 80 guests, and we ordered a bunch of pizzas, chicken tenders, wings, and fruit platters... plenty of food. Our guests opened their own tabs at the bar and compared to Boston/NY drink prices, they were happily surprised at how low their bar tabs were! The prices overall were super reasonable and I'm so happy that we chose to host our welcome party here!Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating. Our friend w celiac had her own personal cauliflower crust pizza!”

“You would never know the food is from a shack on the side of Rt.7. The food here is always amazing and the staff is fantastic. This place is a must try if you find yourself in the Berkshires. I highly recommend the burger and a variant of the garlic fries. As pictures is the ‘Mac burger special’ with fresh garlic and herb fries with a hotdog.”

“Food fresh and excellent. I had breakfast, hash and eggs. Homemade hash was very good, always an indicator for a breakfast spot. Nice location on Main Street in Great Barrington. Very walkable town.”
“Big Elm brewing is a must stop. Woman owned and brewed. And this satellite taproom in GB is cozy and warm. Chill with friends or family. Excellent beer, atmosphere. One restroom so be aware. Merch available. Easy parking.”

“This spot came highly recommended to me by a friend and it was definitely worth the stop! Incredible cocktails with a cozy/vibey interior. We had a golden milk punch- a take on a clarified punch that was perfectly crafted! Although we didn't have anything to eat here- there were several boards that went past that looked incredible!”

“I absolutely love this unique find. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The service was Swift and the food was excellent. A quaint little spot it was comfortable, and I quite enjoyed the music. Overall a great experience we didn't have any libation just the food and some water and everything was great. I highly recommend them as a restaurant. I'm not sure about the bar part, but going on what my experience was, I would imagine that's pretty good, too.”

“A nice spot to grab a quick bite to eat. Limited seating but large tables and neat nooks. Loved that it was dog friendly inside. The dill oil on the potato leek soup was heavenly but the Brie and fig jam baguette was only OK. Our coffee and dirty chai were tasty.”

“Stopped in for dinner after a day of skiing at Catamount. I had a jalapeño margarita. It was tasty. My dinner was the carnitas tacos. Very delicious. I also tried an Al Pastor taco and it was also good. The chips and salsa were better than average. The restaurant is located in some kind of a building that houses multiple businesses so that is kind of interesting.Parking: We found a free spot on the street within 5 minute walk from the restaurant. There was closer parking right in front, as well.”

“First time at The Elm and we really enjoyed the experience. The food was beautifully presented, and taste fantastic! High praise for the kitchen staff! The service is slow, but it seemed like it was meant to allow a relaxing dinner experience. We never had to ask for anything because the waiter checked on us at perfect intervals. We are looking forward to returning.”

“We have never been disappointed by the quality of food at The East. Sometimes takeout is busy but this is a good thing! Our server today was Tony and he was so thoughtful and caring, truly made our Easter Sunday very memorable.”

“We actually discovered this restaurant by accident while we were looking for a different restaurant. We decided to take a chance - and are very glad we did. We were greeted immediately by a super friendly young man who showed us to our seat and provided us with menus. Shortly thereafter another super friendly gentleman came by and took our drink order. He brought us our drinks and after waiting an appropriate amount of time for us to have reviewed their menu he came back and asked if we had made our selections. Getting right to the good part - their soups are outstanding! They came piping hot and loaded with fresh ingredients. Magnificent flavoring. One of us got the grilled chicken sandwich which came with the usual lettuce and tomato but also came with bacon and avocado. Absolutely scrumptious! We also got the giant burrito which was a truly wonderful experience. The restaurant is bright and cheerful with subdued colors on the walls and pleasant decorations. Overall this was a wonderful experience - one that we will, most definitely, repeat. Give this restaurant a try. You will not be disappointed!!!”

“Vegetarian options: I asked if I could have the Brussel Sprouts without the bacon, and it was no problem. They were very good as well. I am not sure why they would add bacon to one of their only vegetarian dishes. The fish and chips were very good as well. The fish was flaky. The dish was really good, he said.”

“Stopped in after a meal at a local restaurant for a scoop. I tried the ginger ice cream and my son got the maple walnut. We both agreed that the ice cream is excellent. There was only one poor girl working the counter and line kept getting longer (too many people ordering milkshakes!). Our wait was around 8 minutes to be served so it wasn't too crazy. The ginger ice cream was truly delicious.”

“Oh boy do I love this place. It's on my hit list for every trip to GB. It's an embarrassment of riches every time I visit. Everything I've tried as been phenomenal. Folks working there are super sweet as well!”

“What a beautiful place! The store behind the store is really moving. I purchased a delcious blueberry tea of sorts & a bag of tea bones (dog treats). The woman working the register shared with me that the students from the daily program upstairs make the dog treats as part of their class. It felt great purchasing quality goods for a purposeful cause!”

“The place we wanted in the same street had a huge waiting list so we tried Siam Square and were very happy with the food and service. Three adults enjoyed delicious Thai food for $62. We would gladly return.”

“Just went yesterday after several years. The best got better. The soup was always soul restoring - no surprise - white bean, kale and tomato - but all their soups are spectacular. The nachos were the best I've ever had and wholesome and nutritious, which is very important to me. Pizza all wonderful - something for every taste. Three people ordered three different salads - portions too generous to finish - take them home! They'll last a day! It's the subtlety of flavor - the nuances - the little surprises, that set this place above. A real master chef at the helm here. Don't miss this when you go to the Berkshires.”

“Expensive, but that's coming from being in Great Barrington. The vegan Tantan ramen was delicious and complex. Served with high quality alkaline noodles and a homemade spicy chili crisp. We liked this better than other asian noodle places in the area.”

“Decent food we could find in the area. Service was good. The buns were soft and delicious. Tom Yum noodle soup was satisfying for a cold winter day. The mango salad and spicy tonkatsu ramen were alright - we would not order again. Their matcha latte with boba was refreshing.”

“Really solid, classic, juicy and flavorful pizza, and their Mac and cheese bites are just devourable. I love going here on cold winter nights in my pajamas and buying a pizza to share with friends. Can't go wrong, except maybe not the best place for fries. Otherwise, great menu.”

“I ordered the hot chocolate and an almond chocolate pastry. Both were excellent. The hot chocolate was reminiscent of what you would see depicted in old Disney cartoons. I wish it was served at a slightly higher temp but it was as close as one gets to a perfect hot chocolate.”

“The restaurant is clean and quiet. The food is excellent. I had the chicken Tikka masala. The chicken was super tender and seasoned perfectly. In fact, everything that we ordered was delicious. I'm already thinking about what I will get next visit. Will definitely be a returning customer!Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options.Parking: Parking in rear.”
“I went to the Miller recently and could not have had a better experience. The beers were great and the food was everything you come to expect from the marketplace group. If you’re ever in Great Barrington I strongly recommend visiting this pub. You will not be disappointed!”

“Fuel is by far my favorite coffee place in town. The only reason I go to other places is because I can't always get a table! They make the perfect mocha latte, foam art and all, and it's a real treat to get one of their fresh pastries. The staff are amazing and go consistently above and beyond to give the best service possible. If you come more than once, they will remember your name and order. They once gave me a free coffee after I spilled mine on myself trying to get the bus.The only reason I didn't give five stars is because I have had one or two negative experiences with the food. The hot sandwiches in the case sometimes are sometimes very dried out and burnt around the edges, I assume from sitting in there too long. I also once had a very upset stomach after eating the chili. Other than that, I've had nothing but great experiences here.”

“What delicious Greek food! We had takeout (to Big Elm Brewing), including homemade and flavorful grape leaves, the best falafel ever, grilled calamari, tasty dips with pita, and for our gluten-free diner, Greek fries, which were a perfect substitute for the pita bread. And, best ever, was the delivery to our table at the Brewery. Fabulous!!”

“This is a great place to eat and meet and talk with local folks. There's a jazz trio led by a friend of mine who teaches young kids how to play jazz. And, they are remarkably good musicians! The atmosphere is pure funk and delightful. The servers are terrific and very friendly. Go there. You won't regret it.”

“Great breakfast place with good homemade food - there looked like so many good options but my wife and I chose the corned beef Benedict and the breakfast quesadilla, both were great - I would of liked a little more yoke out of my eggs but other than that the corned beef was very tender and just fell apart.”
“Had a long drive home and wanted to stop and get something quick that wasn't fast food. In Great Barrington it's hard not to spend $20-30 on an affordable dinner around here. Got an $8 dinner of delicious chicken and rice made by a lovely woman. Will definitely be stopping back exactly what I was hoping to find. ??”

“This is a super memorable place to go to if you're on a ski trip or just passing through. The interior is charming with Greek decor and the staff is great too. The pizza is more on the doughy side but still incredible. I highly recommend their salad and cuisine for anybody looking for a good meal!”

“I've never had a bad meal or bad beer here. I love that it's a brewery that focuses on classic styles (and has beer on CASK for god's sake!) Being able to get a bitter or English IPA on cask is about as good as it gets. The food's always great too. I've never been disappointed with what I've ordered, and the prices are more than fair. Having oysters there is a huge positive too.I'll continue making the drive from Pittsfield to grab dinner here!”

“I stopped here for a solo dinner on a Sunday evening. It was relatively empty and the servers were so friendly. I got a drink and the carnitas, both were excellent! I thought the prices were a little bit high.I apologize for not tipping as much. I don't normally order specialty drinks, and I know the profit margin on a $12 drink is huge. Forgive me.”

“Really, really good restaurant. All of our dishes (the bread, two different salads, the chicken, a pasta, and two desserts) were spot on. High end without being precious or pretentious. Wine list is excellent, including some excellent wines at (relatively) reasonable prices. Service is friendly and professional and the setting is very nice. Our best meal in the area. I'm happy they could take a walk-in on a Saturday. I wouldn't bet on it if it's other than 5pm.”
