Restaurantji unveils Great Barrington's must-visit Mexican dining spots.
“Stopped in for dinner after a day of skiing at Catamount. I had a jalapeño margarita. It was tasty. My dinner was the carnitas tacos. Very delicious. I also tried an Al Pastor taco and it was also good. The chips and salsa were better than average. The restaurant is located in some kind of a building that houses multiple businesses so that is kind of interesting.Parking: We found a free spot on the street within 5 minute walk from the restaurant. There was closer parking right in front, as well.“
“Had a long drive home and wanted to stop and get something quick that wasn't fast food. In Great Barrington it's hard not to spend $20-30 on an affordable dinner around here. Got an $8 dinner of delicious chicken and rice made by a lovely woman. Will definitely be stopping back exactly what I was hoping to find. ??“
“I stopped here for a solo dinner on a Sunday evening. It was relatively empty and the servers were so friendly. I got a drink and the carnitas, both were excellent! I thought the prices were a little bit high.I apologize for not tipping as much. I don't normally order specialty drinks, and I know the profit margin on a $12 drink is huge. Forgive me.“
“What a great experience! Amazing food cooked with good ingredients and love, perfect margaritas and the best service by Wendy. Couldn’t compliment this place enough - every single bite was full of flavour, perfectly cooked, food arrived very fast and Wendy was very kind and friendly.“
“This cozy little spot on a side road in Lee was once a favorite Vietnamese restaurant of ours, which closed several years ago. Avocado Cafe opened during the pandemic and we just discovered it. The ambience is very nice and our server was friendly. The food is legit Mexican. I had the chicken enchiladas, which comes in a red or green sauce. I asked the server which he recommended. He said, “The red is spicy and the green is mild.” I went for the green and it was nicely spicy. Dishes come with Spanish rice and well seasoned black beans. My wife had a beef quesadilla, which was also delicious. She had a very good margarita and I had a beer. We'll come back and they also deliver. A nice find.“
“We actually discovered this restaurant by accident while we were looking for a different restaurant. We decided to take a chance - and are very glad we did. We were greeted immediately by a super friendly young man who showed us to our seat and provided us with menus. Shortly thereafter another super friendly gentleman came by and took our drink order. He brought us our drinks and after waiting an appropriate amount of time for us to have reviewed their menu he came back and asked if we had made our selections. Getting right to the good part - their soups are outstanding! They came piping hot and loaded with fresh ingredients. Magnificent flavoring. One of us got the grilled chicken sandwich which came with the usual lettuce and tomato but also came with bacon and avocado. Absolutely scrumptious! We also got the giant burrito which was a truly wonderful experience. The restaurant is bright and cheerful with subdued colors on the walls and pleasant decorations. Overall this was a wonderful experience - one that we will, most definitely, repeat. Give this restaurant a try. You will not be disappointed!!!“
