Nice diner environment, but they can be pretty slow, and the food is just ok. I hate to say it, but it makes me miss Worcester.

This place rocks. I'm a local and this is my go-to for breakfast and lunch in Somerville. Jose is a great dude and the waitresses are all cool. Wish they were open at night, too. I'd be in there all the time.Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options- few vegan

Buddy's is very good as you stumble up its front steps and forcefully if not forcibly slide open its heavy metal door to enter a relic of bygone years. The menu is simple: pieces of paper and/or paper plates with writing hang from the wall behind the counter. You choose what you want and you tell the server(s) and/or cook(s). It mostly consists of breakfast items: think eggs of all styles, so-called breakfast meats, breads, potatoes, coffee, etc. A very traditional diner menu. Prices are decent--certainly on the cheaper side for the area. Most of the breakfast options cost between $8 and $14, with the option to go higher if, for example, you are a glutton and opt to eat an entire steak for breakfast. As for the ambience, it is counters and stools. Certainly great for your posture, but I would not recommend for those with serious spinal ailments and inhibiting buttocks deformities. Overall, Buddy's is a very good option for breakfast or lunch in Somerville.

The cutest little brunch place in a renovated dining car. The portions were massive and the baked beans and linguica was delicious! Make sure to bring cash when you go though

Very cute atmosphere. The man loves to cook and watch his food be enjoyed. Make sure to bring cash! The food here is REALLY good.

$18 for 2 eggs, home fries, bacon and a coffee..... not worth it. It felt dirty, unorganized and cheap standards.

Try the homemade salsas on your home fries. All created by the cook, Jose, and each one is amazing!

The absolute Best Diner Experience! The food was exceptional! We met Dave, who told us all about the history of the Diner! Built in 1929, and full if character. Love it! We came with friends from Australia, Dubai, and France. The feeling was unanimously Awesome!

Found this spot by accident. Went in as was greeted by a nice man cooking on the grill (a 1 man show). I ordered a breakfast plate with bacon, scrambled eggs/cheese, homefries and toast. I must say it was delicious and flavorful. I didnt have to add salt or pepper because it was done well. The price was reasonable and the amount was ample. I most definitely would recommend and will be a regular going forward.

Try this place!! The reviews aren’t wrong. This place is great! I had the corn beef hash and it was fantastic!! Great service and really cool atmosphere. We sat at the counter and felt like we were locals. Was fun seeing everyone walk in a put and get the vibe this a local place. I would highly recommend eating here even if you have to go out of your way to do so!

This is a tiny little diner with only counter seating open from 6 to 6 daily. We selected from the breakfast sandwich menu and had a western with egg, cheese, onions, green peppers and ham served on a toasted roll while my wife had an egg, cheese and bacon croissant (alternate meats were ham,or sausage) everything was prepared fresh on the flattop and only the home fries seem to be precooked. The breads were absolutely fresh and were lightly toasted. The iced coffee was served black and unsweetened but with cream and sweetener available. Overalls fine alternative to the breakfast buffet in our hotel at twice the price

Don’t judge a book by its cover. Approaching this tiny venue, many would turn around and go elsewhere. However, encouraged by the reviews here and it’s proximity to our hotel, we continued. Inside owner and assistant (wife?) extremely courteous, cooking and eating areas very clean, and food tasty! Eclectic location, but sometimes just what you wanted! Way to go Buddy’s!

A front seat to the show in an amazing diner. 10 stars. Portuguese sausage is a must. We’ll be back ❤️
