“Great local market with delicious food. Was in town for a UMASS football game and called ahead to order assorted sandwiches for tailgating. Nikki was so attentive with the order, and even though she was going to be away the day I came to pick up the sandwiches, she made me feel confident that she was personally going to see to it that everything was perfect. And it was! The staff was super friendly when I arrived, everything was ready and prepared beautifully and conveniently - even got help out to my car with the trays. Very reasonably priced for the large assortment of sandwiches we chose - roast beef, turkey, chicken, veggie. Food quality and taste was excellent. Everyone loved them and some very grateful students took the few remaining leftovers we had back to their dorms after the game:) Gotta say the hometown flavor and service at Ciesluk's put me in a great mood - just what you hope to experience in a charming New England town on a fall weekend. Highly recommend!“
“Great little off the beaten path deli. They make their food fresh daily and never mix yesterdays food with what they made today. Golumpki wasn't my favorite, but everyone makes it different. Cucumber salad was fantastic and they get their bread in fresh from the bakery daily. Portions are huge, staff is friendly.“
“For a convenience, store, it's a 5! We stopped for gas on Route 2 just before we turned onto I-91 to head north to VT in central MA. We got quite a surprise. I went int to look for a restroom in this here barn like structure and as I did a worker came out on her break, recognized I was not a local and said hi, "and if you are hungry, we have lots of things to get. She was leaving from the kitchen apparently as she was pleased with the cool weather. She was very sweet and friendly and so I did look around. As I entered it smell like fresh warm food, better than more fast food highway chains, It was set up with on area typical aisles of a convenience store, to the other side was hot shelves as in a grocery deli with sandwiches, pizza slices and myriad of other wrapped and choice of warm or cold options. There was a historical display of photos on the wall of the Millers Falls area. There was a "toy and stuffed animal " display for those traveling with children, there was a wall of counter space with seating if you wanted to eat in rather than your car. The place was immaculate, a gentleman constantly keeping the floor and counters clean for the next customer. The checkers were quick and friendly. They were located near the kitchen and it did smell delicious. Our bacon, egg, cheese on a biscuit, as nice and fresh as homemade and no wait, just self serve off the hot bar. My husband bought some items from the convenience area and we read through the history posters and headed out, car full of gas and us with a warm sandwich to recharges. And absolutely the nicest people you would ever want to meet on a trip with such a stop.“
“What a remarkable store. You walk in and can smell the smoked produce and if you weren't hungry, you will be. Everything is smoked in house behind the shop area over a fire of apple, cherry, hickory or sweet maple woods. There is a board on the left listing all their homemade sausages from all around the world as well as hams and other items. We bought some kielbasa, Canadian bacon and breakfast sausages. The owner overheard a question we asked about the smoking process and gave us a backstage tour and it was just wonderful. The fire is lit in the basement below the racked meats and the smell was so wonderful. We then bought a bigger ring of kielbasa as we knew we wouldn't get this chance again on our year long tour of North America. Its a really special place.“
