Mighty Squirrel Brewing Co. Brewery • $$
411 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham

“The beer deserves five stars, but the atmosphere is seriously lacking on weekends when the place is overrun by children. Have been coming for years and will continue to do so, but I wish it felt more welcoming for adults without children or adults who are out to get a break from their children.“

Lamplighter Brewing Co. - Broadway Brewpubs • $$

“Great spot for the area! Trendy, bright, and eclectic. Doubles over as a coffee shop before 4 (at least on weekdays). Wide range of beer options, from New England IPAs to barrel-aged options (barleywine and a millet ale were on tap recently). Friendly, inclusive staff. Chill or meet up with friends.“

Distraction Brewing Co. Brewery • $$
2 Belgrade Ave, Roslindale - 8.21 miles

“The Tall Man and I were looking for a low key hangout with baby in tow, and Distraction Brewing was the perfect place. This new-to-us brewery on the cute pedestrian-only Birch St. had an outdoor patio but we opted for seats inside. It's not a big place, but it has a good number of tables and bench seating in a brightly lit space. The Tall Man got the autumn flight of 4 beers (one being one of their maltinis), which he enjoyed for their variety. I wasn't up for imbibing so I got a Health-Aid kombucha from the fridge. (They also carry Athlete's nonalcoholic beer in cans.) They have some packaged snacks for purchase, but they encourage people to get food from local businesses to eat there. It was pretty darn convenient to pick up lunch from nearby Chilacates. It made for a very chill lunch and sip. We weren't even the only ones with a stroller! It was a relief to find a brewery that's not utterly mobbed and where we could bring the little one. I would definitely come back for another relaxing hangout.“

Samuel Adams Boston Brewery - Jamaica Plain Brewery • $
30 Germania St, Boston - 8 miles

“Fun tour, we did it early morning. Needless to say, we had a good buzz by noon. Tour guides are awesome and friendly. At the end of the tour, they give you beer to sample. You get to keep your sampling cups, very cute. We had the privilege to sample 3 or 4 beers, I don't remember. There is also a gift shop and a "bar" where you could drink, not included in the tour. I would highly recommend this tour while in Boston.“

“Recently expanded and now doing round pies!! The food here is excellent, vibes are great, and everyone is super friendly. Been a few times when they were just working with a convection oven slinging Sicilian slices, and I was super pumped to hear that they were expanding in space and menu. The dough is top notch and the toppings are inventive, fun, and super taste. Also, don’t sleep on the sandwiches— the Italian hero means business!!“

Widowmaker Taproom and Kitchen Brewery •
190 N Beacon St, Brighton - 4.7 miles

“So nice to see the Windowmaker empire grow and adding a full in house menu of food to boot!Smaller space than the original fantastic spot in Braintree but so in line with the vibe they have always embodied.Still such a great lineup of beer too. So many hazy IPAs, top notch spurs and a few other great brews of other realms too.Nice addition a stones throw from Roadrunner too, that I imagine may be less busy that some of the other spots on Guest St that have opened.“

Medford Brewing Company Brewery • $$
30 Harvard Ave, Medford - 6.02 miles

“In the quaint and serene neighborhood of West Medford, a truly remarkable gem has emerged - the Medford Brewing Company. From humble beginnings as a passion-driven venture by two dedicated individuals, this brewery has transcended its basement origins, blossoming into a harmonious sanctuary for beer aficionados. Nestled on 30 Harvard Avenue, the former home of Smooth Automotive, it has transformed the local landscape, infusing life and vigor into a neighborhood yearning for a place of its own.As I stepped into this enchanted realm of hops and libations, the air seemed to tingle with anticipation, for what lay ahead was not just a brewery, but a place where the community comes together. Medford Brewing Company has curated an exceptional assortment of brews that cater to the discerning palates of its patrons. From the coveted and rarely brewed Barley Wine Beer, a testament to their innovation, to the crisply enticing Session IPA with its delightful citrusy notes, each sip is a symphony of flavors, a celebration of craftsmanship.Their American Pale Ale, a true delight, strikes the perfect equilibrium between hop forwardness and subtle charm, setting itself apart as an exemplary brew in its own right. Yet, it is their Mustang Lager that captured my heart, a refreshing and invigorating masterpiece that is the very essence of summer personified. With each sip, it left a tingling sensation on my palate, an elixir that rekindled memories of carefree days and sunlit afternoons. While Medford Brewing Company does not yet boast a full-fledged menu, they encourage guests to bring their own food, inviting them to curate their culinary experience. A symphony of flavors awaits as one relishes delectable fare amidst the company of friends, old and new, in a testament to camaraderie and community. The brewery's ambiance is a tapestry of excitement and delight. Trivia nights, a splendid fusion of intellect and amusement, charm the weekday evenings, while Fridays bring forth a crescendo of merriment with food op-overs and live music. Each visit is a testament to the brewery's commitment to elevating the communal spirit, drawing locals together in jubilant revelry.Medford Brewing Company has become the soul of this serene neighborhood, injecting vibrancy into a place where life had meandered at a leisurely pace. With this emporium of taste and conviviality, locals now have an exquisite haven, eliminating the need for excursions to distant boroughs (cue to Cambridge and Somerville) for a taste of beer nirvana. In conclusion, Medford Brewing Company is an extraordinary culinary odyssey, an escapade into the realm of finely crafted beers and heartwarming camaraderie. The symphony of flavors dancing on the palate, the camaraderie that fills the air, and the warm embrace of community make every visit a cherished memory.I wholeheartedly bestow a resplendent five-star rating upon Medford Brewing Company, an experience celebrating the spirit of craft and conviviality.“

Mighty Squirrel Brewing Co. – Fenway Brewery • $$
1 David Ortiz Dr, Boston - 7.16 miles

“Love this new location easy to get to from my apartment and went there with a friend for dinner. Their Buffalo Chicken Pizza is the bomb and a must try. Also their Pina Colada was great that I ended it doing two rounds. Being on two floors there is plenty of space for big gatherings or small because on the second floor there is a room that can be closed off with a private bathroom. I already have plans to go back again soon. In total there are four bars. One on the first floor and three on the second floor.“

“I can't say enough good things about this brewery. The staff was incredibly hospitable and knowledgable. Some of the best lagers I have ever tasted, which is not to be taken lightly given their difficulty to perfect. Next time I make my way up from NJ this is at the top of my list, cheers!“

Lord Hobo Brewing Company Brewery • $$
5 Draper St, Woburn - 8.78 miles

“Went in last night with a couple friends because we saw a promotion for ordering a certain beer and getting a free complimentary glass that comes with it. All the attendants at the bar expressed the fact that you should only hand wash the glasses which was great because I'm sure a ton of people go home and throw them in the dishwasher. But we love going to the Lord Hobo, we've gone there for Star Wars trivia and can't wait to try out more in the future.“

“Friendly staff and great beverage choices! Their soak seltzer is amazing and doesn't have a disgusting aftertaste. The raspberry beer was sour, but very very smooth. I'm not a big fan of seltzers or beer, but this place changed my mind. Will be coming back here!“
