“Let me start by saying the staff is so friendly and inviting that if I lived closer I'd be a regular regardless of the coffee and food, which is superb. The home fries are golden and crunchy on the outside and with a soft potatoey inside. They were the first thing that disappeared off my plate. My guest got her own rendition of eggs florientine add ham, tomato and feta. Great combo made to order no questions asked. Big Belly is my local spot for food and coffee. I suggest when in the area you stop by for a bite.“

“Omaris was courteous, professional and extremely nice. I was starting to lose hope with the customer service industry until I had the pleasure of having her attend to me. She set a prime example of how today's youth can achieve greatness. Thank-you for starting my day off great.“

“Food is consistent. You always know what you'll get. But the employees informing me "you rule" is way too much. I don't need a third party telling me how rad I am. This is equal parts embarrassing and dehumanizing. Making your employees say that to your customers is a bad experience. You pay these people absolutely nothing and expect them to humiliate themselves to assist customers. This practice is disingenuous, lame, and cringe. Stop making these poor individuals embarrass themselves for the opportunity to not starve to death. Thanks.“

“Amazing place. I got the Half rack ribs & steak meal; it was good ; I got the steak raw & it turned out good; we also got the Balsamic chicken & it was awesome too ; however the steak that was supposed to be medium rare was way over cooked. We got the apple crumb pie and it was great. Our server was pretty bad but he was nice. He gave me diet drink instead of what I asked for, we waited nearly 30 minutes for our food to come which in that time I had finished my drink and didn’t see our waiter the whole time. I finished nearly half my meal before getting my refill. We also had to wait to get our silverware. Atmosphere was very live especially at the bar where trivia was being played. Overall it was great.“

“First time at this Friendly's snd first time in years. The food was good. I enjoyed my food. The mini mozzarella stick basket was great. My daughters meal was good. The free Sunday with her meal was super cute and she loved it. The service wasn't great. Waitress was overwhelmed it seemed. Kept forgetting requests, including eating utensils at our table. The woman picking up the dishes and clearing tables almost dropped a tray full of plates, cups and ice cream cups on me and my daughter because she was having trouble walking and carrying more than she should if she has trouble. But there were ppl waiting so she was trying to rush and it almost ended badly. It was louder in there than any place we have eaten before but I think that's because it was mainly families with young children who were excited and just being kids. All and all we would eat there again.Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu with free sundaes at the end. Cute straws for kids drinks. Almost seems more targeted towards children“

Woodstock Tavern Salad • $$
35 CT-171, Woodstock

“We went to Woodstock Tavern after visiting Woodstock country shops in the same plaza. The restaurant is nicely decorated. The bar is quite large and plenty of TVs. We were seated right away at a nice table. I have a gluten allergy and was happy to see gluten-free roll options on the menu. I had the Philly steak sandwich on a gluten-free roll. The fryer is not gluten-free so I was offered a side salad for $2 more. The steak sandwich was dry, but had good flavor. My mother-in-law had the Swiss burger. She said it was very good, again a little dry. The waitress never asked how she wanted her burger cooked, so it came out well done. Next time we would make sure we gave a temperature on the burger. She said the fries were crispy and delicious. The dessert options looked enticing, but we were full so we didn't opt for dessert. Next time we'll try the brownie sundae. I used the ladies room. It was clean and very nice. The Woodstock Tavern is a nice addition to the and area. I will come again.“

“I'm not a fan of these cookie cutter chain restaurants but on this occasion is what we needed. The waitress/bartender was personable, helpful and efficient. It was quiet, the food was good after visiting an ill relative in the hospital it was what we needed.“

The National Grill American • $$
227 Putnam Hill Rd, Sutton

“**UPDATE** Last week we took our friends, visiting from California, to the National Grill for the view from the deck. We warned them of our experience with the terrible food from last year (see my previous review below...gave it 2 stars). We were pleasantly surprised to receive an actual menu with many different options. Our server was pleasant, attentive and accommodating. Our food was well prepared and very good. What a complete turn around from last year! My husband and I are already planning to come back for lunch this week! As long as this establishment continues on this path, we will definitely become repeat customers. ****PREVIOUS REVIEW** Unfortunately, this establishment has gone downhill in the past year, or so. My husband and I would frequently come here to sit on the deck and have a few drinks & appetizers or lunch. The view is absolutely spectacular! However, the menu is completely different and sorry to say, "sub par". In terms of food, it seems as if the focus has shifted from accommodating their golfing patrons as well as the public to "The Barn" for wedding receptions. Their previous menu, while not extensive, offered excellent fare, every time! Everything tasted freshly prepared and we were extremely happy with our choices. Currently, the food selections appear to be something out of the freezer, and/or deep fried. Needless to say, we are terribly disappointed.“
