They bump the best playlists, joke with you, discuss taste preferences, honor allergies, and are actually excited to provide a good dining experience. It's truly a neighborhood gem that I want to gatekeep so badly but will not because everyone deserves this level of stellar dining and the team here deserves to succeed! The food is funky with a heavy focus on fermentation along with honing culinary techniques from around the world without trying to put out “Asian food” or “Latin cuisine” or “fusion”, just their own creations. They make spirits in house (turns out I can like vermouth!) and source wines from places most others restaurants don’t dare to cover. It’s where I bring all my visitors if I can snag a table!“

“While enjoyable, I came in with higher expectations. I knew going in that the menu was "weird" (maybe unusual is more appropriate?), and after the meal, I pretty much felt the same. I don't feel like the ingredient or cooking choices really came together, and I don't know if it's because farm to table in New England at the start of spring is just unfair, or if this just comes down to the chef's choices. My partner and I shared 4 dishes, and we each got our own dessert. I loved my dessert, but the other one was unbalanced, with too much bitter marmalade. The savory dishes were all fine - but we wondered if the scallops could have been better with a different protein, if the celery root would have been better as a veloute, and if the sauce for the lamb were not so sweet.Still, I think I'd like to come back when the farms in New England have better produce and try again.Kid-friendliness: Not really - this is a place for very adventurous adults“

I'm not sure if it was because they didn't turn on the AC or if we just had an unfortunate seat that wasn't receiving any of that cool air. “We had a delightful dinner at the Burlington, MA Restaurant this past week. Seasons 52 NEVER disappoints!!! Our meals were delicious... wonderful pork chop on a bed of red cabbage and golden raisins, served with a side of mashed sweet potato with pecans and brown sugar. My partner had a delicious piece of chilean sea bass on a bed of wild rice with mushrooms. For dessert... we could not help ourselves and ordered two of their mini-indulgences of layered pecan pie and the other was of oreo cookie and vanilla. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is beautiful with nice lighting. But the best of all was our server, Susan. She was so friendly and helpful with our choices of wine, food and desserts. “On a business trip in the Concord area and checked out 80 Thoreau. One thing to note is that this place is tricky to find. It looks like it doesn't exist when you get there but it's right next to the eye glass store. It's on the second floor so you need to take a hallway with stairs which is why it was hard to find. Once I did eventually find it, the overall experience was great. This is more of a fine dining restaurant so the prices are expensive, however, the food was amazing. They have a limited menu so it makes it easy to choose and everything was very very fresh. On top of the food, the service was great! The bartender was very very friendly and our waiter was attentive and gave great recommendations! Would recommend trying this place out if you are in the concord area“

“This review is for the Brookline location of The Abbey. The Abbey doesn't do reservations or call ahead. We showed up around 6:00ish on a Saturday night and were told there was a 20 - 30 minute wait. We were welcome to sit at the bar, but there was no place for four people to sit together, so we lurked near the door and chatted, ducked customers walking in and out and staff taking orders, running food and clearing plates. It's a small space when all the tables are full and people are a few deep at the bar, but that just added to the ambiance. I was seated facing the wall so I didn't see quite how busy it got, but the noise was at "lively" level. We could still have a conversation but needed to speak up to be heard across the table. We were able to snag a table after about 30 minutes. The basics first: The drinks, food and service were fantastic! This is our second time here, the first being ages ago when they had the covered tables outside early in the pandemic. I've been wanting to come back forever, but don't usually get to this part of Brookline. I need to change that or head to Cambridge too! I started with a winter sangria (red wine, brandy, spiced rum, apricot and allspice) that was delicious. They have a pretty extensive gluten free menu, which is nice. My friend wanted the GF pasta Bolognese, but she is dairy free to so that was not an option. We ordered two of the slow-braised short rib "French dip" egg rolls with gruyere, horseradish aioli, and red wine demi for the table. Loved this! I never finish apps and I inhaled this. I was fine with that, I could just put my main in a take home container. We also got the black kale & Brussels sprouts salad, avocado, pepitas, Crispy bacon, and a fried duck egg. Even if you think you don't like kale and or Brussels sprouts, get this dish! I got the "Thanksgiving" panini (house roasted turkey, cornbread stuffing, cheddar, arugula, cranberry aioli, hand-cut fries). It was delicious and can't wait for the leftovers. The hanger steak frites came topped with watercress and a madeira sauce. It was the most tender steak that I've ever had. For sides my friends also ordered shredded Brussels sprouts and pan roasted cauliflower with capers and pecorino as sides. Not to be missed are the hand cut fries that are the embodiment of French fries perfection. They are a must order, either plain or with truffles and cheese. Fried potato nirvana! As I said, the place was packed, but service was attentive and Ty (sp?), our server made sure allergy info was provided to the kitchen. He made great suggestions for items to try. The Brookline location does not serve dessert (sad panda) but the Cambridge location does. Good to note for next time! Did I mention that the kitchen is open until 1:30 AM every night? Perfect for late night bites.“

“SHIRLEY has been a bright light in my life since it opened a few doors down from me. Kat is a one woman show and cares deeply about where food comes from & her customers!! Her menu is based on fruits and veg that are in season, and rotates frequently. Whenever I come in to pick up an order, she always takes the time to point out new vegan items on the menu, tell me about her plans, and even chat for a few minutes, all while she's prepping orders. The bread is famous for a reason. It's versatile and so comforting! SHIRLEY is adventurous and delicious and is a great place to go for veg folks bringing along non - veg friends. happycow only allows 5 stars for full vegan/veg restaurants, so don't let the 4 stars fool you. Our only complaint is that the restaurant opened its doors to a long line of walk-ins whom they seated first ahead of people (like us) with reservations. We had a 5:30 reservation and arrived early. The hostess apologized while seating us that there weren't any menus left to give us when we were seated. Then, after our waitress enticed us to order one of the sfizi specials, she came back to tell us that they were already sold out because the walk-ins at the bar had grabbed them all up. “We came here for Easter dinner with a group of 4. The seating area is warm and comfortable while still feeling a bit more upscale - a great location for a date night or special occasion. We enjoyed the dishes overall and appreciated that you could get a glimpse into the kitchen from the dining room. What we ordered: - Tuna crudo: Interesting flavors. The fish tasted fresh but could have used some more acidity. - Fried hen-of-the-woods mushrooms: Nice, crisp, and well seasoned. - Sautéed heirloom carrots: The carrots were nicely cooked but the glaze was a bit too sweet. - Seared scallops: The scallops were perfectly seared and paired well with the lentils and sauce. - Phyllo-wrapped cod: We were surprised how crispy this was even though it was sitting in the sauce. The lobster stew was full of flavor. One of our favorites of the night. - Seafood risotto: The risotto was well cooked but the dish could have included more seafood. - Lemon pepper half chicken: The juices of the chicken soaked into the beets to make a delicious bite.“

“I love this place. My friends introduced it to me when I first moved to the area and my husband, son, and I have been going ever since. They do dollar oysters every day until 5:30pm, which is hard to find these days. It's the best deal in town! We also love the poutine and there's usually a few great local/seasonal beers on draft. Great atmosphere and the guys who work here are friendly, efficient, and helpful. Highly recommend!“

“Solid, reliable neighborhood spot serving approachable classics like fried chicken, fish, & steak. I can't say I've ever been blown away by any food or drink here, but haven't had anything that I didn't care for either, and overall have found it pretty consistent and am usually satisfied with my meal. The menu doesn't change a whole lot, and I'd personally love to see more rotating specials, specifically with a description of them online (the take-out portal saying something like "salmon special" doesn't really help describe what the dish is about?).“

“So glad we happened to find this place! We were staying over for the night after a day in Boston and needed coffee and breakfast before heading home. The service here was more than friendly, the coffee was to die for and they had so many flavors to choose from! Our breakfast sandwiches were delicious. If we ever find ourselves in the area again, we will make it a point to come back!“

“Had to try the famous chicken Cesar pizza because who doesn’t like salad on a pizza? It literally tastes like how it seems but weirdly good, and there’s so much cheese on top I think that’s the main reason I like it. Their steak tips is also delicious, the steak is well marinated filled with rich red winey flavors.“

“I’ve gone with my grandfather and mom to Cabot’s for over 10+ years. They have the best ice cream! Highly recommend the Patriot Parfait: A tower of Strawberry, and Vanilla ice cream with strawberry and blueberry sauce, with whipped cream and a cherry on top. They also have tasty reuben sandwiches. Staff are friendly, and the owner is lovely. Usually a bit of a wait, but that’s due to how popular the restaurant is. They also sell ice cream birthday cakes, if you are looking for that.“

“Ordered pizza recently from 57 Lincoln Kitchen! It was generally really good, we got Hawaiian, the Lincoln and plain cheese pizza. The service was pretty fast, we got our order in 15 minutes. The pizzas were smaller than normal, about 14 inches in diameter. Ive ordered a chicken ceaser salad wrap from them previously and didnt enjoy it, so I would recommend ordering pizza from them rather than their sandwiches.“

“Really impressed with this restaurant! I've developed dietary restrictions due to health reasons which have prevented me from going to a lot of restaurants. When my friend planned a going away dinner here, I reached out via email asking if it was possible for them to accommodate me. They wrote back an extremely kind response saying they were looking forward to hosting me- that really made my day. The wait staff was wonderful, listened to all of my requests attentively and my meal was perfect and delicious. I will absolutely be back, thank you Audubon!“

“We stopped in on the way home from the airport, and it was amazing! From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcomed. The atmosphere and food were awesome. I highly recommend the Mickey’s Chicken special and the red sangria which was a deep dark red- as sangria should be. Yum! My children loved our Irish waitress who Made them laugh and feel special. This restaurant is over an hour from where we live, but there is no doubt we will travel back often. Wonderful experience!“

“I have never posted a review before. My wife and I are visiting Boston during the winter and we ate dinner at Summer Shack last night. We ate at Atlanta Fish Co a few days ago and that was good too. We went to Pescador tonight and it was so very bad we paid the check, left the food and went back to the Summer Shack because it was so incredibly good. Recommend to all who love great shellfish and lobster. The best.“
