Stood in an awkward line for a bit inside kind of overage of the food counter. Soft serve in a waffle cone w/sprinkles and richies ice slush was like $10 a little steep but I guess what isn't now a days. They have delivery options as well like doordash, uber, grubhub if interested.“

“There are many ice cream flavors and different sizes to choose from. I ordered three flavors: 3B, Earl gray, and Kulfi. They were all delicious. Among them, 3B (brown sugar, brown butter, brownie) is the signature flavor and the most amazing. It has a strong creamy aroma and is surprisingly not overly sweet. , paired with brownie to make the taste richer. Earl Gray tea has a very elegant taste. The aroma of bergamot comes first in the mouth, and the tea flavor comes out later, with an endless aftertaste. Kulfi is cardamom-flavored ice cream with chopped nuts. It feels like drinking Indian spiced milk tea. There is a large table and some sofas in the store, and there is also water for guests to take by themselves, which is very considerate.“

“Amazing Vegan Ice cream. I have a dairy allergy and I’ve tried a lot of different vegan desserts. These taste exactly like the regular desserts. I had the grasshopper pie with hot fudge and it was amazing. You can even buy toppings for at home use - I bought a jar of hot fudge! Also I love the take a drawing/poem and leave one. “Located near Harvard Square, we strolled around and came upon this dessert haven. They have a ton of flavors to choose from, and they give out samples if requested. It wasn't crowded when I came, so we didn't have an issue perusing the selection, which includes desserts beyond gelato. We went with the dulce de leche and the hazelnut, both of which were packed with flavor. One scoop as a bigger scoop than others, but I am happy to get a little extra, just noting it wasn't consistent. There are a few tables inside to sit and enjoy or it's a handy treat to take around and walk.“

There are a variety of cannoli flavors posted across the entire wall with various and unique options. I opted for the Pistachio, Florentine, and Oreo flavors going for $7 a pop. It's pricier at Mike's than Modern, but also the cannolis are bigger. I enjoyed all they have so much more variety of flavors, so allows for more creativity. Overall, Mike's and Modern are both just as good. If you like variety, come here. Plus, this is the OG location for cannolis. You can't go wrong with either option. If you come to Mike's, definitely try the florentine one though. This had such a nice carmelized, crunchy texture that you gotta eat right away.“

“After having a quick bite from up the street, I decided I wanted to satisfy my ice cream craving. This was my first time trying Honeycomb creamery and man, oh man, this place did not disappoint. I wanted to try a flavor first, before ordering, but quickly learned they do not do samples. I decided to go with what the worker who was helping me suggested, and I definitely left this place a happy lady! I got a small size in a cup, with a matcha cone of one scoop honey lavender and one scoop of caramel crackle. I have never tried honey lavender flavor in an ice cream and was interested due to all the reviews. The honey lavender was good, but not my cup of tea... the star of the show for me was the salted caramel crackle! The mango sorbet was also delicious, by the way! They also offer other treats such as cookies and brownies. We went on a Tuesday and I was super intrigued by the Tuesday Taco special but decided to just get a small size first to try. Honeycomb creamery, I will most definitely be coming back soon :)“
“I have such fond memories coming here throughout the years. I was originally introduced to this location a few years ago by the kids I babysat, since they lived in Waltham and the Belmont Center location was closer than the Newtonville one. We kept going back and it was delicious every time! My go to flavor is the hydrox cookies and cream. It won't let you down! The staff is mainly juniors and seniors in high school and they're so nice to guests and are hustling on the job (and supporting eachother on their college adventures which you love to see). There's not many seats inside but that was never a problem for us. Besides, it's nicely located in Belmont Center so you can also walk around a bit, or sit outside if you'd like. :)“

Although the coffee was strong and good, the execution was bad: the steaming hot coffee was immediately poured over the ice cream, so all of it melted in the 1.5 minutes that it took to walk to my car. New City Microcreamery has been on my list because the idea of a smoother ice cream through the process of freezing with liquid nitrogen sounded intriguing.I was able to sample a few flavors and ultimately decided on the tres leches and baklava on a homemade waffle cone.Pros: Both flavors were satisfyingly sweet, true to their names, and smooth. The tres leches had vanilla wafers, while the baklava had filo dough pieces and walnuts, which added some texture variety. I also enjoyed the waffle cone. It was thicker and chewier than store bought ones.Cons: This was very messy to eat because the ice cream was already half melted by the time I was handed my cone (unsure if this is usually the case with their ice cream). I was also shocked by the price when I went to pay (almost $15)—it turns out that I was overcharged. They corrected this after I emailed customer support. However, although this was the first time this has happened to me at a restaurant, this was not the first for them based on other reviews, so be careful. We live a walkable distance, and nothing is more fun than walking down on a Summer Friday after work, getting a treat and taking it down to the lake. They even sell my favorite soda, Moxie, by the bottle! Because this is a small, locally owned and operated business, there is going to be a variation in the service. “I’ve been here many times. The professionalism of some of the scoopers is commendable. However, I have to leave 4 stars because I tend to see a group of teenage boys (usually) simply sitting in the back on their phone and leaving the girls to get to work. Two of the girls stuck out in particular. Elena and Emmy! They are always at the window working hard, while some of their counterparts sit back contributing nothing to the staff even during the busiest of summer days. Some of the other girls put forth their best efforts as well, but those two girls always remember my daughter’s order and are very sweet. I wish some of the boys put in that much effort!“
