“Geneva made us feel like the most important part of the experience at Judy’s Island Grill. Snapper was at market price but affordable and worth it. Also had the oxtail burrito which was flavorful and filling. Cabbage was delicious. David was hospitable and made boozy rum punches. The Mango margarita was too sweet for my preference. We came on a Thursday around lunch time and service was quick!“

“First timer! Easy reservation process. Wasn't crowded at all. The crab egg rolls were very good. As well as the wings. I didn't order any drinks. I did, however, order the gumbo. To me, it was too salty and not enough rice. The entrée was plentiful. I had enough to take home. Super friendly staff that served my table. Food came out extremely fast. The atmosphere was nice and cozy. Parking can be sketchy but the restaurant was worth it. I'd go back to try another entrée and get some drinks.“

During the wait time staff got a little busy. However staff still remained to acknowledge us and still provided great customer service. Now the food is absolutely amazing! Flavor, presentation, portion sizes huge! Definitely will be going back. Thank you!“

“Sensational. Idk bout the reviews but it's a mom pop and son biz, if you were running a restaurant and everyone's multitasking you'd want grace, so give them grace, bc if it was you you'd understand. The mom is the cook, cleaner and all Around great person, she don't say much, but I feel the love, and why yall need to talk to her anyway she working. Bc I saw a few reviews talking about her cut it out. The food is authentic, energy authentic, everything authentic. The portions are crazy for carry out and even larger for dine in. I LOVE IT. “Baby; I'll start off with the negative comment first, I waited maybe 5 mins too long but I understood why it took longer than expected once I received my food. I ordered the salmon which was cooked in a sauce. My sides were mash potatoes and vegetables. When I say delicious is an understatement, it is! The fish was cooked to perfection. The sauce was so good I nearly started to use my fingers to sop it up! The mash tasted as if it was prepared the same day. The vegetables on my dish were cooked perfectly. The food was not salty, it was just cooked with love and detail! I'll be back!Parking: Regular“

“First time ordering from here JIST 4-5 hours ago. I saw sooo many good reviews I had to try it. I ordered (delivery) their jerk chicken panini, and jerk chicken Rasta pasta. MAN… the pasta is sooo good!! The panini was also delicious, even though the panini pressed grilled bread had steamed inside its wrapper and lost its crispiness.. it was great. Wasn’t soggy just had lost its crunchiness where the grill marks are. I can’t wait to try their chicken pot pie and jerk chicken platter! I would’ve ordered those too.. but I don’t want to reheat anything and want to try it fresh. Will order those items next time! Thank you ❤️“

“Excellent food! I’m real picky when it comes to Jamaican food so it means a lot when I say the food is delicious—well seasoned, good portion. In this picture, this is 1/2 my take out plate. I got the oxtail with rice n peas and ordered a side of plantain. Hubby got brown stew chicken and we ordered the ginger pineapple drink and sorrel. I was pleasantly surprised that the ginger pineapple drink is fresh. You can taste the real ginger and pineapple and you can taste the ginger and sorrel in the sorrel as well. Whenever we’re in the area, this is our spot.Vegetarian options: If you’re a vegetarian then the escovitch dish is a good option for you“

I called my order in and the man on the phone was very pleasant and told me my food would be ready ASAP! By the time I arrived they were bagging up my order. I got the roti with curry chicken with a strawberry drink. This was a HUGE serving of food! So big that it wouldn't close and had to be tied down with saran wrap. I opened the roti and the scents smacked me in the face. This was the best curry chicken I've ever had. After tasting the food and meeting the owner, I'll definitely be back.“

“My cousin was adamant about getting here because they operate on a 2 day schedule. She ordered us a few biscuit sandwiches. We ate in the car because we were on the move that day. It's a small setting, was clean inside, service was decent. The biscuits were delightful. Soft, buttery, crumbly, moist. Fresh to order. We had some steak, some bbq lamb and a sweet chicken type. I tried every single one and could not stop the expressive ooooohhhss and yummies from coming out my mouth between bites. The steak was savory and slightly overdone for me but very good with the egg and biscuit. Bbq Lamb was the most interesting pairing well in a breakfast sandwich. I would have never thought to put lamb in breakfast. The chicken was good with some type of sweet sauce on it that was good on the biscuit alone.“

“So me and my friend wanted to try some Caribbean food and he told me about this place. The rice was really good, and the browns to chicken was really good. I didn't like the Jamaican version of collard greens. And if you grew up eating Stouffer's Mac and cheese then you know that that mac and cheese is Stouffer's. But I love Stouffer's ?. But also if I'm ordering from a Jamaican restaurant I don't want freezer macaroni and cheese. Other than that the food was great. Amazing Coco bread ?“

“I've been in Maryland for five years and I have to say that I was in love with Judy's Island Grill. Right there off of Crain highway in Glen Burnie. When I moved to Baltimore I started experiencing things more. Going to the market trying new things. Lexington Market has a variety of different kinds of food from different cultures. I always try different foods and it's a hit or miss with them, but they mainly have good food. Pam's Caribbean Kitchen just opened up this March and let me tell you, they are the best Caribbean food I have tasted! I mean they knocked Judy's off the board. The only thing that they're missing is macaroni and cheese. If she gets that she will be rolling.“

“The food I had was great. I've only tasted the curry chicken three times. You have to pay extra for plantains, which are okay as far a plantains go (I only had them one time). And their food is so affordable that the $1 extra isn't a big deal. I spent 10 and some change on a large curry. I don't care for the people who just hang out there and invade my personal space.Parking: I've gone there twice, and didn't have any issues with street parking.“

“I love me some good food!!! This is by far the best jerk chicken I had in the US. Omg the jerk chicken is really GOOD. And the rice and peas is delicious too 10/10. I’ve had only the jerk chicken so far and I’m really impressed. This is my second time ordering and even though it’s a 35 mins drive from Towson, I’ll definitely go back on a regular. “Went there twice. Both times it was nice and clean. The lady who served me was polite and responsive to my request. I particularly didn't like the type of rice used to cook the rice and peas. It was cooked and Shelly. Just Not sure if was paraboil or what. Just would have preferred another rice (jasmine/basmati/ or a short grain rice) that would have provide more flavor. ?“

“First time eating there and I was greatly impressed and will be returning. I usually go to St Marys for my Jamaican fill but Hummingbird has taken their place for 2 reasons: Taste and Price. I had Currried Goat with Rice and Cabbage/Veggies. The only thing I hate is the location because its alot going on as far as car and people traffic which is the only reason for the 4 stars otherwise it'd be 5. The rent gotta be cheap and with the economy I understand the need to make it work where your at until better comes along or whatever the case may be with the locale situation. Many blessings to all and again the food was truly delicious, thank you for the service and I will be returning regularly. Oh forgot to mention the portions were also satisfying so that would be a 3rd reason. ?Update years later: I still go here and it's still is the best most flavorful jaimaican food to me. I have gone to other places and they are bad but they just aren't the same as at Hummingbird. I really do enjoy their flavorful and well-seasoned food.“
