“This is definitely a place to splurge, but absolutely worth it! The ambiance was great. I was there solo while in town for business, and they had two options for single diners, at the bar or the kitchen counter. I sat at the counter and got to watch the pizzas being made fresh. The lasagna is worth the hype, it's absolutely decadent. The s'mores dessert was also delicious.“

“Wife and I live in DC. We go 4 or 5 times per year. Best dinning experience in DC. Don’t even read the menu. Let Bonnie great server, just bring you food and wine pairings. Blow you away. We usually sit at the upstairs bar. Chefs table was great as well. The wine flight is worth every penny. Bring your Amex!“

“This place is so cute ! Perfect for a romantic dinner, great eats and a cool ambiance. Our server was solid and knowledgeable and they are able to be attentive but also allow you to enjoy your time. Not too bad when it comes to parking for me- I normally can always find street. I love a place where you can find good crafted cocktails. This is definitely one of those places!“

“Very cute and innovative Japanese-Italian fusion spot! I had the Vongole Ramen, which was very tasty, although also extremely rich so perhaps difficult to finish towards the end.The onigiri was also interesting, although many of them were a bit lacking in filling.“

“Me and my husband came to the bar for a la carte dining, had an amazing time with a very personalized beverage pairing (s/o to Chris our bartender!) We'll DEFINITELY be back to do the entire tasting menu. Lovely atmosphere, not stuffy, great music, GOOD LIGHTING (hard to come by in DC) and overall stellar food. Come here for your next date night or special occasion dinner, you won't regret it!“

“I was devastated when I showed up for my reservation today when I realized my reservation was actually for tomorrow, but I left feeling QUITE the opposite. The hostess (I did not catch her name) told us she could squeeze us in as long as we didn’t stay past a certain time (which was so generous and more than enough time to begin with). We ordered our drinks, and when the drinks came, the (manager? bartender? i’m not sure) brought them out and even included a drink he said he created the recipe for yesterday and wanted our thoughts on it! all of the drinks were amazing. the hostess came to our table and told us she even moved reservations around so we didnt have to feel rushed (wish we didn’t to begin with)! it was just so sweet. our food was just as good, if not better. our server (anthony) was so kind.i had high expectations of the food going into dinner but the service was just as great!“

“Checked out San Lorenzo for the first time the other night - I have been in DC for years, but just recently moved to the Shaw neighborhood and had heard good things about this spot. Christina the GM was super friendly and helpful, making me feel very welcome and the bartender I spoke to, Efron, gave some great menu recommendations. The Seafood Linguine was fantastic! Will absolutely be back.“

“based on reviews and dc reputation i had high expectations and unfortunately was underwhelmed overall especially by their speciality, mezzi rigatoni. no one at the table liked the whipped ricotta crostini, the bread to cheese ratio is out of balance, way too much cheese and too little bread.now for the good. we enjoyed the squid ink linguini. the mafalde is excellent, definitely recommend. while food overall was not bad, i don’t think we will return. however, i am not recommending against others trying this restaurant, just not for us.“

“Everything about this restaurant is high class. Reservations are a must. The food and service are top notch. Mixed drinks were prepared very well. We had the chef's tasting menu. While it's at the top of the price curve it's well worth the money. The portions are surprisingly large for the 4 courses one receives. A must if you are in DC.“

“I'd come back for a slice. Located inside the Western Market on/near GW University. A little hard to find, yelp map doesn't match actual location (used google maps instead). Ordered a half margarita half pepperoni pie. Was hungry so ordered a slice of margarita pizza while we waited. The slice was awesome!!! The crust was crispy airy and delicious. Disappointed a little with the crust on the whole pie... it wasn't crispy at all... a little chewy. Tasted like two completely different pizza spots. Service was friendly. There was room for small or medium sized groups with seating in the back or out in the market place walk way. They had a large selection of drinks including beer/wine/etc.“

“We are obsessed with Revelers hour! It’s so cozy inside and the food is always delicious - the garlic knots are a must. Great alternative to tail up goat , more food for less price! Our waiter was great at selecting wines for our table. Also good for vegetarians too - plenty of options I could choose from! The tortelli and the ceaser are some of our favorites.Vegetarian options: Multiple pastas and appetizers for vegetarians!“

“We are tourist & was searching for a place too eat since our first choice for dinner totally ignored us after we sat there 30 minutes we left. This pizza joint is absolutely delicious. The thin crust was delicious especially on the cheese pizza. The only negative thing I have too say is y’all charging too much for a house salad. I mean if you gonna charge $14 @ least give me something other than basic lettuce.“

“This was our second time visiting Giovanni's Trattu. The restaurant is very small with approximately 50 seats, so reservations are a must. We visited mid-week at 6:30 (with a reservation). We were seated immediately upon our arrival. We were a party of 2. We ordered garlic bread, we split a Caesar Salad, we both chose the Chicken Parmesan, and we had the Spumoni Bomba for dessert. The garlic bread was a bit bland. I would pass on that next time. The salad was good. But the Chicken Parmesan was one of the best we have ever had. Definitely a wonderful choice. And the Bomba was great as well. It gets busy and with a small family run restaurant they get a little overwhelmed. The service was good and the people are friendly. Make this one of your stops when in the area!“

“Great place to come and pick up a pie, either regular sized or personal. The crust is thin with some flop. The standard sauce (they offer several) is a good balance of sweet and acidic. The toppings, from the meats to the cheese, all taste very fresh. Inside the restaurant, it's a bit cluttered and tight, but that does evoke kind of an old-school, downtown pizza joint feel.“

“Although it was a busy Saturday night, we enjoyed a lovely per-Mother's Day dinner at Mia's. The hostess managed to find us a reasonably quiet table. Our entrées (Cod w Risotto and Rigatoni Bolognese) were beautifully prepared. Service was attentive and prompt. The "mocktails" did not disappoint!“

“Was on a trip to the area in April and had dinner at the Shirlington location. I am still telling people about the best eggplant parmesan I have ever had! Everything was excellent! Definitely would recommend to people going that way. I only wish I had picked up something from their shop to bring home with me for another time.“

“This was above average Italian! I had the lemon, spinach and ricotta ravioli and it was delicious. The pasta was clearly homemade and cooked well and the sauce had a delicate lemon flavor and was creamy with a great texture. The ricotta was also smooth and there was lots of it!I would love to come back here and try other items on the menu!“

“Fun spot for dinner and good food. Our server was very nice, yet didn't course out our food, so we had two pasta dishes and fish show up at the same time. The octopus starter was my favorite dish. The pasta and fish were also good, but not necessarily the hottest when we ate them, given everything arriving at once“

“Al Tiramisu never disappoints. Whenever we are in DC in the Dupont Circle area we head there for dinner. We love that it is small, intimate, on the quiet side, excellent wait staff and of course the food is wonderful. It will continue to be on our 'favorites' list.“

“Nestled neatly into Barracks Row, this longtime establishment offers an incredible cozy atmosphere. It's a fantastic family run business and the staff were great. The tortellini alla panna was delicious. The penne alla vodka was solid, but a little bland. I'm eager to come back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend to those in the area looking for a casual italian spot.“

“If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!Starting from the appetizer to entrees, every bite was better than the one prior. I loved the Wild Boar Pasta, the pizza Capricciosa (+Neapolitan salami), the calamari…well, all of them. The service was great as well, friendly and attentive staff. This restaurant will exceed your expectations and your taste buds will thank you.“

“Would recommend dressing semi-formal or formal unless you would want to stand out of the crowd. The restaurant can be somewhat packed and noisy, although the overall atmosphere is great. The staff are incredibly kind, helpful, and assisting with dietary restrictions and cleaning the table. Although, during busy times, the staff can take a while to come back to your table. The food is fantastic. The portions are a good size and are quite filling. I've heard the pasta is made in-house, which has the pasta not too hard or too soft.Dietary restrictions: They make sure to ask before ordering and even during a reservation call.“

“The staff were all welcoming from the start. The food was AMAZING! The owner came to our table to check on our evening. We were very happy and I must say the Filet Mignon with balsamic glaze was one of the best I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten at 3 star Michelin restaurants . The evening was important to us as we got engaged that day. I highly recommend this wonderful little jewel of a restaurant !!“

“Kind of tasted like school cafeteria pizza. Which is a good thing. It was nostalgic. And it was super super fresh, like hot.The dough you can tell was fresh. Had some cornmeal or something on the bottom. And the cheese was quality. They put extra cheese and though it says they don't charge for it, the price comes out $16 instead of the $15 on the menu (pre-tax)I was ok paying it as they seen transparent about where the money goes. The place itself is quite nice with ample seating and a mime-like design of black and white. It's cozy though so you'll be in close quarters of the next table. There is indoor, outdoor seating and a happy hour.Dietary restrictions: They offer vegan cheese“

“The best hard roll sub in DC has got to be the G Man. My family has been eating them for well over 40 years. It's a family run carry out that has consistently made the same sandwich's for my family my whole entire life. If I'm in the neighborhood, I pick some up for everyone. It's a tradition my father started and I happily carry it on.“

“After a night out on the town drinking with my boys Reggie, Clyde and Billy Boy our Uber dropped us off at this bar. After having our fill of booze there we needed something salty in our system so we saw this pizza joint in walking distance. The dudes behind the counter were pretty chill and even let us sit for a minute while we was waiting for our pizza. It was around 1 am and they still made it for us which was a plus. Four drunken fools up to no good lol. Thanks for exemplary service and excellent food. we def coming back thats for true :-D“

“I am so glad we chose Floriana to grab dinner on our trip to DC. A friend of mine had recommended so we obliged. We got a table outside. Got started with some cocktails and bread that was on the house. We skipped appetizers and went straight to grabbing some pastas! I had the pork belly pasta and my husband got the sea food pasta. The portion was pretty decent. We couldn't finish and had leftovers! The service was bit slow, it took sometime to get our food.“

“We had reservations for 8:30 and came a little early, our table was not ready, but it provided an opportunity to observe the demand for this establishment, walk-up party after party was turned away. At 8:30 promptly, we were ushered to our table... From the outset it was apparent that the service was impeccable. Andrea's explanation of the menu and guiding through a culinary background of every dish was something you only expect at Michelin star establishments. The restaurant itself isn't the most magnificent ambiance but a cut above average for a high end restaurant. In total, this was one of the best dining experiences in many moons.“

“Stopped in here on a work trip and loved it! Portions were a little small, but my coworker and I ordered multiple dishes to share so it worked out just fine. Our server and the whole staff were prompt and very kind. When they noticed we were splitting dishes they started bringing out our orders already split and played on two plates for us! So above and beyond hospitable! We were seated in the covered outdoor portion which had lovely floral decor and lighting. I'll be back next time I'm in D.C.“

“The bbq chicken pizza was amazing! It is a little confusing walking inside. It’s set up like a sit down and order, but it’s not. There are two tablets blending into the wall to the right as you walk in. There is also another one towards the back. The place is clean. The staff is not extra friendly but also not rude.“

“I Love Italian - and when I say this place has THE BEST MEATBALLS I've ever tasted - it's saying a lot! The mushroom gnocchi was light and delish! “Describing the experience Fiola gave my wife and I is genuinely difficult. Every bite, smell, and even sight was curated to the finest degree over our 9 course tasting menu. Every serving followed the same cycle of astonishment from "wow, that flavor!" To "did you notice that?!" To "it's gone already?" And no two servings ever felt the "same" yet every bite complimented the next.Though this is my first experience with a Michelin star restaurant, I struggle to see how anyone could make an experience like that better. If you're considering Fiola, even a little bit, do yourself a favor and go.“

“This is by far, the ABSOLUTE BEST Italian Deli that I've ever been to. I've been a Sales Representative/Driver/Delivery Guy of some sort since 1985. So for 35 years, I've have had Carryout from MANY of places over that time frame. From Northern Va, D.C. Montgomery, P.G., Charles, Calvert & Saint Mary's Counties. “Love this restaurant!! We came to celebrate a birthday and the staff were wonderful and gracious. “Finally visited this sub shop. Had read about it on Eatery. Glad I went. I got the Teamster Italian Cold Cuts) and the Never Been Cheddar (Roast Beef). I also ordered 2 whole deli pickles. The Teamster reminded me of the subs I used to get at the Italian Store in Arlington. Wonderful. Eat it for lunch. The Roast Beef I will save for dinner. The large pickle was perfect. I will return. They are a bit pricey but I think they are worth it. The only thing missing were napkins.“

“Had a really nice meal here! In line with Italian cuisine - they execute really well on simple dishes. They did a couple of classics very well in the Bolognese, and the spaghetti & meatballs. They also did great on one of the night's specials - duck ragu. All of that with the house red and tiramisu for dessert made for a wonderful dinner“

“This place is highly underrated and needs your business. Why? Incredible wine selection, quality food, super kind staff, vibey music, and reasonable prices. You want to wait an hour or two to go eat at El Presidente, Pastis, and St. Anselm? Me neither. Those restaurants are great but we are overlooking this hidden gem. Pictured: valtellina bruschette, marinated olives, and seafood paella.Wheelchair accessibility: There is an ADA ramp to get to the restaurant.“

“Moe!!! You are dope! I ordered Uber eats, Uber did not come thru, but Moe did. He not only provided me a fresh order due to Uber allowing my food to become stale but gave me a drink as well. It’s good food yall, if you in the area or can get lucky with a courier I would recommend this spot at all times of your day (even 3 AM). “I was thinking of chicken parm all week. I get these cravings out of nowhere. Eater recommended Capa Tosta so I made a reservation. Parking was challenging. Metro was too far away. Eventually I found a spot...I was concerned as most of the houses and businesses had bars on the windows. I head into the restaurant. First impression is how small it is inside. Not a cut, just an observation. I would say it has a cozy kind of place good for a date or family dinner out. I grab a seat at the bar. I already looked at the wine selection so I decided on a glass of the house red. The menu has a lot of good choices but I ultimately decided on the chicken parmesan with pasta and sauce. It's a Thursday at dinnertime and I'm alone in the restaurant...maybe later things will pick up. My food arrives and smells delicious. I order a wine refill and I'm enjoying the tasty sauce and tender chicken. It's two tenders vs a chicken breast but no matter. Solid quality and taste. After a while I pay the check and I'm out. This is the second restaurant recommended by de.eater.com that has been in a rough neighborhood. I'll be doing my research elsewhere. When you're worried about where you parked and whether the car will be there when you're done eating it makes the dining experience less enjoyable.“

“I don't know why it took me so long to check out the Obelisk. From the moment you are greeted at the door you know you are in for an incredible experience. The servers know their stuff. They understand the menus and communicate effectively and succinctly. They were perfectly attentive, we never felt ignored or as if they were intrusive. There are no slouches on the menu. Everything I tried would be the star at most other restaurants, the two of us picked different items so I was able to try quite a few things. There were no misses. The menu changes regularly so what was being served when I visited won't be served when you visit. You should inquire about the menu if you have dietary restrictions. It's not a cheap meal but if you're going to spend the money you should get the wine pairing. It compliments the meal perfectly. This was one of the best meals I've had and I plan on visiting again.Parking: It's street parking in DuPont Circle so parking is next to impossible. Do yourself a favor and take a ride share or public transportation. That way you can get the wine pairing.“

When we arrived, we were seated immediately, the manager Antoinette was so accommodating, the server was very patient with our seniors and the service was great.
