“As always, everything from the bar to the kitchen was perfect. As good as the drinks and the food are, the people make it a consistent destination of pure joy. From Linda and Jason behind the bar to Mariana, Nikki, Michelle, Heather, and Evan on the floor, this is always our go-to place.“

“What a great meal. Came with my parents and grandfather for my dad's retirement dinner. Parking was so easy, there's a big lot behind the restaurant that still had multiple open spaces!! They start out with bread for the table which was so good, chewy, and warm. My mom and I had to stop eating it or else we would've ruined our meal! We got two of the same appetizers, I'm not sure exactly what it was but I think it was called La Terrine de Gibier, the photo with the slaw and cut bread with a cut of meat on the middle. I typically don't like these types of dishes but this was very very good. For entrees, I got the almond crusted trout and switched the potatoes for rice, it was delicious, however the fish a a tad bit over cooked. I still ate the whole thing though!!! My parents split the filet mignon, pictured on the tray and another on a plate. The meat was done perfectly, my dad gave me a few bites, but he and my mom loved it. My grandpa got the calf's liver, he really enjoyed it and loved the mash potatoes with it. Personally not a fan of animal organs but he loved it, it's one of his faves. For dessert we all got our own, I got the poached pear and it was absolutely ICONIC. BEST dessert I've had at a restaurant in ages!! It was so so good, light but creamy and decadent. My grandpa got the sorbet and loved it, I had a little bite of the raspberry scoop and it was so tart and yummy. My mom got the profiteroles which were yummy but she liked mine dessert more. And my father got the chocolate mousse cake, he absolutely devoured it. The service was great. We had our reservation at 6 and left around 8:30-8:45. He was attentive and kind, and our other servers were awesome. Very attentive to take our finished dishes and made sure our water (mainly my water) was always full. The vibes were nice. It was giving cottage core, warm and welcoming. A lot of seating for many people and they dim the lights around 7ish so for those with iffy eye sight be aware of that! Overall, recommend!“

“This spot seems like a local institution. They had live music- two guitarists playing in the background. The atmosphere was perfect and the food was really tasty as well. The restaurant is underground with no windows but the murals and lighting make it seem as if you’re transported to Portugal. Overall, an older clientele but a lovely spot.Parking: There’s a free parking lot for customers to use.Wheelchair accessibility: There’s a ramp to enter the restaurant to accommodate those in wheelchairs.“

“To say I love this place is an understatement. From the management to the bar and wait staff, everything is fantastic. I come here at least twice a week — with rugby, maybe more. I have not only never had a bad meal here, I’ve never had bad service or bad anything. I am so glad to have a place like this in my neighborhood! When I come here, I feel like family. Can’t ask for more than that.“

“10/10 - Hidden gem with fresh mutz and flavorful grilled chicken.I had the antipasto with olives tomato prosciutto and fresh mutz which was homemade and made me think about Hoboken NJ! I added the grilled chicken which was thin and well seasoned. The avgolemono soup to start was delish.Great service and easy parking in the back.Iced tea was perfect.I’ll be going back to try other specials and take some mutz home!“

“Wow! Ate so quickly and didn’t take any pictures. This is the best fried rice I’ve had since the early 2000s in New Haven, CT(Down the road from Yale). The food tastes like authentic Chinese American cuisine may be even Hongkongese. It took me back in time. Grateful for the great food. Impressive!!“

“We had gone to Clyde's the previous day for a Celebration of Life event for my brother and decided to return the next day for dinner. The food was excellent. I had a pork chop and my wife a crab cake. Both were delicious and perfectly prepared. Our server was friendly and attentive. The restaurant, with its transportation theme, was charming. Even though the restaurant is large and there were many other diners, the noise level was moderate and allowed my wife and I to converse easily. My only complaint is that there is not a Clyde's in Los Angeles. If you ever decide to open a branch on the West Coast, we will be your first and most vocal advertisers!“

“Delicious! Very busy during workday lunch, but staff was very kind despite it being hectic.Chill and nice atmosphere.Gender neutral restrooms.Ordered the brussel sprouts with egg, such a filling dish! The tikka sauce took it to the next level.Drink is the Hawaiian Punch, very tasty and non-alcoholic.Ordered a side of Naan, it was topped with garlic and very well cooked.I can see why this is on the 100 top DC restaurants list!“

“This is definitely a place to splurge, but absolutely worth it! The ambiance was great. I was there solo while in town for business, and they had two options for single diners, at the bar or the kitchen counter. I sat at the counter and got to watch the pizzas being made fresh. The lasagna is worth the hype, it's absolutely decadent. The s'mores dessert was also delicious.“

“Super cute and cozy restaurant. My personal favs were the Brussels sprouts and Spice Bag. The spice bag doesn’t seem like it’ll be all that since it is just fried chicken, but it is *really good* fried chicken. It’s reminiscent of Taiwanese fried chicken“

“Had dinner before the Oh He Dead concert on Saturday December 17, 2022. We arrived a little before our seating and immediately were greeted and taken to our spots. Ian was outstanding! He was attentive, descriptive and helped create a good experience. Dan, our bartender, was magnificent. He created delectable cocktails and we also chatted along the way (we had bar seats which I highly recommend). This was very reasonably priced, we left very filled and happy. I want to give the highest possible compliments to Ian and Dan. The entire experience was perfect, largely because of the great food, but they took the experience well beyond a 1 star evening!“

“AVOID OUTDOOR SEATING“Patio” is narrow, covered tent with very little airflow. Compared to immersive and interesting interior seating, I think you lose half the “cool” experience Maydan has to offer.Food was incredible however, and there was so much that nearly every person leaving had leftovers. Service was okay, but again outdoor seating produced a bit of a delay on that front.“

“Really delicious and awesome vibe! This is a creative Asian place where I would say noodles are their forte. The area is really small and cozy, with great decor. They only seat about 20 people at a time in their space, so I would reserve or come early. We came as they opened and were seated as a party of 5.For food, LOVE the brontosaurus! The broth is excellent and rich but too too rich, nicely smoked ribs, excellent selection of side veggies and the noodles had a great texture. The noodles in the mazemans were the same noodles as the brontosaurus, but the mazeman has no broth and so I prefer the brontosaurus. The ribs in the brontosaurus could’ve been more tender but I still loved it overall! Pork buns were good as well. Beautiful presentation and great taste on all! And nice edgy underground atmosphere/decor and reasonable prices.Vegetarian options: Mushroom ramen“

“Not a DC local, but when I visited, I was with my group pretty late at night. This place was one of the few places in walking distance that was open, but I think we lucked out with it. We showed up, were seated pretty quickly, and had some time to look over the menu. There were plenty of options of all sorts, and we ended up eating on the more adventurous side, getting grasshopper tacos and beef tongue tacos. While definitely unusual, it tasted great. There were plenty of other strange choices, this clearly being a great place to try new things. The house made chips were also great, even without the salsa.“

“Sami's hot dogs is a must when visiting DC. Hot dog had onions, jalapenos, chili, ketchup and mustard. We got the spicy sausage which gave it an extra kick. Also it's located in a convenient location across from a little park with lots of sitting, and they do take card for payment. Sami was also super friendly. Will come here again when visiting DC“

“Visited this place in DC last weekend with family and it's the best! The pre-dinner bar experience was delightful with excellent martinis. The waiter made it special by asking about our celebration. With a party of seven, we tried different entree's and everyone was impressed with the quality and portions size. The waiter was helpful with menu suggestions. We felt right at home 10/10, definitely coming back !“

“First I would like to say that I wish there were more than 5 stars. My son and I are visiting the DC area for the Cherry Blossom festivities. My son has a love for Indian food ever since his trip to India. I have never tried Indian food ever. So this was my very first experience. From the moment we walked in the door our amazing experience began. The atmosphere is beautiful and so is the staff. Our server, April was super helpful and very knowledgeable. She has an amazing spirit and is wonderful with her job! The food... was very fresh, aromatic and DELICIOUS!! My son said the food was the closest to the food in India that he has had here in the states. For my first time... OMG!!! I am HOOKED! The only bad part is that I have to go back to Florida and wait impatiently for my next visit.“

“Everything at Menya is completely mind-blowing and it's the best ramen I've had outside of Japan. It's a little hard to visit here especially with their hours but every time I can make the trip over to DC I always make an effort to come here. Their food stays consistent and service is incredible. It's amazing to watch how in synch the entire team is and they have an open kitchen where you can watch the staff make the endless bowls of ramen! The karaage is a MUST-TRY it's so incredibly crispy on the outside but perfectly juicy on the inside. It's also paired with a yuzu dipping sauce and it brings the chicken to a whole other level, 10/10. My favorite ramen is the Spicy Tonkotsu because it includes a house made chili spice that really brings a nice kick to their traditional Tonkotsu broth. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu because each type of ramen is so incredible in its depth of flavor.“

“This review was a long time coming. I was dying to try out Agora DC after my friend treated me to the Tyson's location for my birthday. Agora Tyson's was some of the best food that I've had in a while, so expectations were high for their DC location. I'm pleased to report, the food quality is identical! That means, A+ all the way around. Please try the chicken, giant prawns, jumbo scallops, octopus and lamb chops.. You'll thank me later!! Both locations have their own charm, but I'm leaning towards the DC version just a hair more because of the the indoor/outdoor seating option. Although I visited when it was cold out, the patio was still booming with the mega heat lamps. It was warm enough to sweat a little...LOL! I've been hooked on Tapas style restaurants since trying out Jaleo many moons ago. Service was great and I've put Agora on my top 5 DC restaurants list.. period!!!“

“Me and my husband came to the bar for a la carte dining, had an amazing time with a very personalized beverage pairing (s/o to Chris our bartender!) We'll DEFINITELY be back to do the entire tasting menu. Lovely atmosphere, not stuffy, great music, GOOD LIGHTING (hard to come by in DC) and overall stellar food. Come here for your next date night or special occasion dinner, you won't regret it!“

“Amazing! The sushi tasting menu was exceptional and filling! Delicious and whimsical cocktails. Bar in the back, very hip and chic workout being pretentious. Wagyu beef skewers from the bar was one of the best things I’ve ever had. All the skewers were amazing and the fried chicken and other bar snacks are classic bar foods, but way elevated- can not wait for the rest of the space to open!“

“Overall - 8/10. The service was very friendly. At first but was slow to get our drinks, but once our order was in everything came fast. I love the small hole-in-a-wall feel. My son described the service as "uncomfortably nice" as an indication of how friendly everyone was. We ordered the Heavenly Pork and the Crab Basil fried rice. My rice was really good and had a generous portion of lump crabmeat. My son's Heavenly pork was really good according to him. He was just getting over a stomach issue so he couldn't order it spicy as he would like. The mild wasn't spicy at all. We also ordered Thai teas which I would say were the weakest part of the meal and they were still good. It's neck and neck with Kook Kai's Noodle House in Silver Spring.“

“I had a great experience at Ilili restaurant we went to DC to watch the Black Crowes. we had no reservations. We went into the restaurant when they opened at 5 PM... the service and food were incredible. The ambience was wonderful. We were very underdressed, but Treated as though we were wearing our finest. I feel like the waiter, the sommelier, and everyone else under the sun at one point came to the table to offer us wine lol so if you like wine, I think this might be a great place for you as well. i'm writing the review because it was one of the best dinners we've had in many years. I had no idea that you could turn a carrot into something so damn delicious. If you don't believe me, I dare you order those carrots they're gonna blow your mind. “The most deliciously innovative meal that we’ve experienced within memory. Modern, Greek-accented food, elevated by sophisticated yet subtle use of herbs, spices, dressings and sauces. The menu contains numerous vegetarian offerings, although carnivores will also be happy. Excellent cocktails and drinks, attractive setting, efficient and pleasant service. The sole disappointment: noise. If you’re not enamored with loud acoustics, try to reserve a more quiet booth or visit during off-peak hours.***DETAILS: I was very skeptical about booking at Melina because the menu appeared complex and fussy. My concern was that the results would be discordant and underwhelming. Happily, I was dead wrong. Melina’s chef is one of those rare souls capable of orchestrating a symphony of flavors for the palate. We loved our charred baby gem salad (enhanced by its light and sprightly dressing); the squash app (brightly and unexpectedly accented with pear, black garlic and fried kale), the portobello main (deep-flavored and satisfying) and the lamb neck (generous and succulent.) The bougatso dessert, capped with a remarkably smooth Greek brandy, offered a celebratory ending. Looking forward to returning.“

“We were a party of 5 with a variety of preferences including low-spice and a not too adventurous 12-yr old. Four of us were very happy with our meals that ran the gamut from nicely spiced meat pie to familar chicken kebab. The one complaint was about the fat noodles that one of our party found tricky to manage. Degree of spice was adjustable and certainly the medium was not hot for my tastebuds -- but it's all personal. By 7pm, there was a lineup, so we were glad to have a reservation.“

“We wandered here after a lazy day hanging out with friends. It's a small pizza spot my husband frequented in Bethesda when he use to live here. The menu is small which can be good and bad. For me it helped narrow down the choices. My pizza had sajook sausage and hot honey. It was sweet, meaty, and very cheesy Yumm! My husband got a play on traditional Turkish pizza which has basically ground meat on bread. Also very yummy. Come stop by! It gooooood!“

“I am truly a pick eater so anytime I'm able to do a full tasting menu with no worries about having eating restrictions I jump at the opportunity. Oyster Oyster has such a carefully crafted menu for vegans and vegetarians alike. The only element that is not vegan is the oyster they serve as one of the tasting elements. Other than that, it is truly a vegan person's heaven. So much fresh vegetables cooked in ways I literally could not have dreamed up. The Gnocchi mushroom dish served with the broccoli bread was my absolute favorite part of the menu. The bread was served with marigold butter that absolutely blew my mind. Do yourself a favor and also try the Non Alcoholic tasting menu to accompany your dish as it was such a great way to get more fresh juices and tonics to accompany the meal. I highly highly recommend this place to everyone and a round of applause to their excellent service as well.“

“5 out of 5 stars, this three story restaurant is interestingly unnoticeable but I’m glad I was invited here to experience it. It sits next to an open air lot which is definitely needed on H St. The food was amazing, I had the sea bass, plantains, salad, and cassava fries (can’t remember what they were called) and everything was so good. The staff was efficient and friendly and the chef came out to speak with us and it amazing to see that he’s native DC and young he is. I definitely recommend this place for dinner.
