“I really wanted to give a 5 star review because the food was incredible, however the service was slow for the price point. Plus, the 4% surcharge added onto the bill is deceptive. Our waiter explained that instead of raising their menu prices, they just tack on the fee. However, it’s not clear on the menu what exactly this fee goes towards. Why not just raise the price by $2 and stop fooling customers?I’d come back for the food for take away or to sit outside- the inside was cramped and very loud.“

“Have stopped in twice, both times for the Happy Hour in the first floor bar area. The drinks have been excellent and the bartenders attentive. The food options for the HH are varied and each dish was satisfying and unique. Highlights are the soup dumplings, pork belly, and khachapuri breads (cannot go wrong with any of the varieties). I haven’t tried for a standard dinner but the tastings I’ve had and service make this a great spot. Street parking only if you’re driving, but the neighborhood is solid and you shouldn’t have too much issue.“

“I have been to Royal Sands a few times before for dinner and drinks and always had a great time, great food, and great drinks, but I want to specifically highlight their event capabilities. My husband and I are leaving DC after almost a decade and wanted to throw a party with our friends. Fritz responded to my inquiry so quickly and easily set us up with a space for fifty people at a bar. There was no reservation fee, no minimum, and our friends could all open individual tabs, which made the event so stress free! Our communication with Fritz throughout the planning process was flawless, not that there was much to do on our end since they did just about everything for us!The actual day of went wonderfully. A hostess took us right up, introduced us to our bartender Ryan, and then a manager welcomed us as well. As our friends filtered in, Ryan kept up with drink orders without a problem, and food orders seemed to be brought to the right people very quickly. At the end of our booked time there was absolutely no rush to go, and we did stay a few more hours.The Mission Group restaurants have always been impressive with crowds, but this experience just solidified how great they are at hosting events! We had such a great time and it was the perfect way to say goodbye to DC!“

It could have been a little larger portion. The salad had too much sugar between the dates and sweet salad dressing, but it was still good. The apple crisp was too sweet and lacked sufficient chunks of apple, too syrupy. The signature cocktails could use a revamp. The wait staff was attentive and courteous. There is a lot going on here - busy bar, sports, news and trivia televised on screens above the bar. Witty T-shirts and memorabilia hanging on the walls. Generous portions, and upscale healthy food options in addition to the normal pub grub. We noticed that other tables had opted for salads and flatbreads so we did too. The personal sized flatbread was the perfect amount for one person. Nice combination of toppings and a warm soft crust. Salads were perfectly seasoned and dressed. “Dumpling District is in the back of Luna Food Hall. It's a cozy spot with tables and couches. There's also bubble tea, ice cream, and a bar here to go along with your meal. “The bartenders treat regulars better than others. You can order the same drink and get smaller glasses or cups than normal. Also if you order a drink such as a punch that needs to be shaken to mux properly they get lazy and just pour it and leave you to have to stor it. It does not taste the same. Plus they put very little alcohol in them. Shame not to feel welcome because you don't go every week. They stopped the dj through the week and they are boring with old timmers creepy male crowd on Thursdays especially. The food is the best and only reason to visit. Excellent cook.“
