“A lovely place to celebrate a birthday or anything else, or just because. The wagyu and brussel sprouts were delicious, finished with a birthday treat light and fluffy mango popsicle dessert, also a sweet delicious surprise. I will definitely dine here again. Our server only checked on us once, yet the place was not crowded on a Friday night in late January, so 4 stars for that.“
“I love this place man. Little tavern on the side of a liquor store. Not exactly a kind of saturday night birthday dinner place but youre not gonna find that in this area anyway. F*** national harbor. That whole area is trash. Seriously, this place has better food than any of those places. I've tried them all. I keep coming back here. And the service here sticks out in my mind as some of the best I've ever had. No lie. And I've been all over. I feel like they appreciate having me here as a patron. I love that. Come here to chill, grub, drink and watch a game. Try the egg salad. No lie. S*** is bomb.“
“Fun club, just not a fan of clubs and bars that have sexist entry fees. On rare occasions it will be less for both male and females to enter, some nights you pay the same until a certain time until its usually half price for females still, then 99% of the time females get a much lower entry fee while men pay 4x as much. My literal only problem with the place. I fully understand the reasoning but personally feel it's insulting to both sexes for different reasons.“
“One of the newest cocktail bars on King street!This place is super cool and has a bit of a speakeasy vibe.We only got cocktails but they were all super good and unique. One of the bartenders, Andres, who was making our drinks used to work at a Michelin star bar and really showed it.He even made us custom cocktails when asked and was very nice to talk to.The atmosphere is very cute and very Instagrammable.The only thing is you have to use wifi because the bar is underground and there's no signal but other than that will definitely be going back.“
“Love this place! I come in all the time and get the fried rice, but the curry and pad thai are also excellent.Vegetarian options: Not every dish on the menu can be served without meat, but many can! Tofu is an option for lots of the dishes that would normally have meat, and many of the curries don't have meat either.“
“I have celiac dx and am always cautious when I eat out. The server at Royal Nepal made me feel safe by explaining each meal to us and by double checking with the kitchen staff as well. Amazing food&service. We had the boar curry and royal thali platter with chicken. I had asked if the duck fried rice was gf and sadly it wasn’t. Then later on, the server brought me out a specially made gluten free duck fried rice on the house! 10/10 we will be back.“
“I stop in a new Ethiopian Resturant every visit to the DMV. So far this has been the best one! So good that I’ll be pausing my taste test to freshen this spot. The injera was so soft. The ribs cooked to perfection and the rice melted in my mouth.The chef was so friendly. I enjoyed every minute here.“
“Quite a nice experience in Oldtown for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The service was prompt and our server was pleasant and attentive.The food was delicious and portions were sizeable. The only con for me was that it was fairly loud. Not a knock on the restaurant as there isn't much they could do about it, aside from reducing the number of tables. And I understand not doing that as the place is busy and more tables equals more business.Overall a nice place for lunch.“
“Tasty food. Atmosphere and service are fine to good. Wish they'd add a little more variety to their beer selection. It's great if you like unfiltered, citrusy IPA's. Adding in a couple more pilsners/kolch's/stouts would be appreciated. Some comfy bar stools would be nice, too, instead of hard, wooden, backless ones.“
“Alice is a nice place for girls night. The ambiance was lovely, low lighting and cute decor. There is a bar with seating for four. Based on other reviews, we made reservations to be on the safe side. It was a rainy Wednesday when we went so there was plenty of seating available. We were greeted and taken to our table immediately. We started with cocktails. The white rabbit is a tequila based cocktail and was quite refreshing. We also ordered the chicken wings and curry puffs as appetizers. We were not a fan of the wings but the curry puffs were amazing! For the entree, I ordered chicken pad thai was very authentic and topped with peanuts and fresh bean sprouts. I really enjoyed this flavorful dish. This is a very intimate spot and the entire staff was attentive to all of the guests. I plan on returning to try more food options and upscale cocktails. Note: There is no parking available in front of establishment. The nearest metered street parking is on S Columbus Street.“
“Food was pretty good though I think this is the first restaurant I’ve ever been asked to leave due to an incoming reservation. We (party of 3) were in the process of leaving anyways but being asked to leave when we’ve been there for under 45 minutes from our own reservation and sitting down at the table. Left a bad impression on an otherwise pleasant experience.“

I can't even remember how I finally got to this restaurant, but I kept putting in dinner in Alexandria and boy was I oh so thrilled. First of all you step inside and by no means do you feel like you just came in from a strip mall or a strip mall parking lot. It is as nice if not nicer than some of the high end places in DC right now. Also, I have no idea how she is able to afford to pay her servers Whatever she is paying them because they are all so incredibly professional, kind, calm and engaging!!! They legitimately feel like one big family. I was excited that the chef and owner had routes from Louisiana and curious to see how that translated into the dishes. Nothing that we ordered was a disappointment. Everything exploded with flavor even the salad was a treat. The cocktails were really special as well, and this place is a A MUST visit if you are in the Alexandria area!“

“Best Tex Mex restaurant in the Alexandria - Belle Haven area. This is my go to spot when I'm craving Tex Mex. Food: If you dine in, make sure to get the steak fajitas - you won't be disappointed. The fajitas come out sizzling out, and the steak is actually of great quality and comes topped with melted butter for an added taste. Recently, I've been binging their Birria Tacos which are very tasty, and comes with great sauces. Service: the service is absolutely fantastic. I was able to chat with the owner and he is a very down to earth and authentic himself, great to support our local small businesses! Ambience: It is very clean and they do a great job of spacing our guests when it's not peak hours. They play great music, and the main area can even get lively as the night progresses. If you search Mexican food in Alexandria, a few will come up that's highly rated - but trust me, 2 Jefes is at the top.“

“Kings Ransom was a cool cocktail bar. It’s upstairs and has a neat vibe. Wasn’t busy when we went. The website makes it out to be a unique and amazing experience with specialized processes but when I arrived there was nothing like that at all. It was just a regular cocktail bar. Drinks were good but not anything over the top. The bartender was nice but definitely ready to go home as couldn’t find him for a while. Overall a nice place just not as advertised.“

However, I was not a fan of the crust (weirdly like whole wheat and not crispy or chewy, rather like a dinner roll).The artichoke spinach dip was really tasty. “Tasty Thai lunch in Old Town! Tried sleepy shrimp for the first time and they were very good: juicy shrimp wrapped in a wonton wrapper and served with a sweet chili sauce. We also enjoyed the balanced Thai iced tea, pad Thai with chicken, spring rolls and pad ginger with shrimp. Ample portions and comfortable seating combined with excellent service made for a wonderful rest from an afternoon of shopping. Thank you!“

“Looked for a bite to eat before attending a show at the MGM Theater. Making a reservation was out of the question at one of the restaurants, so we decided to try Bread and Butter. Food was great. Steak, eggs, tater tots and toast. Steak was well seasoned, tender enough to cut with a plastic knife and fork. Eggs were scrambled perfectly, not requiring any salt and pepper. Tater tots were fine. Meal was great!!“
“Local dive bar with the BEST staff. Kid friendly area to run and scream. It won't bother anyone as most patrons are grandparents, mostly young boomers and Xers. No hassles or arguments because "they dont play". Everyone gets along despite rooting for opposing teams. Always music playing from one of the bartenders. Live music on Thursday.Parking: Enough parking for the capacity of the bar. Road front area is shared with other stores.Kid-friendliness: "Seperate" dining area where kids can eat almost unsupervised.Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is ground level.“

We came from Seattle that had a few of these dog park bars and there’s a few things that Bark Social might benefit from: Better seating for the humans inside the play area (more tables and chairs), a small/timid dog section, and hosting specific breed meet ups - our boy Walter used to LOVE going to the small dog meet ups in Seattle at this place called Dogwood. Once a month they would host meets ups for specific breeds or dog groups, and the entire place would be reserved for 1.5 hrs on a Sunday morning before opening for that specific breed. We really wish we could find something similar here in Alexandria. We’ve been to barkhaus a couple times but our dog is a bit too timid around the bigger dogs and we wished there was a small dog section, also found that the seating and tables inside the play area were limited. With these improvements we would def come back!“
“Pupusas here are good. It's a mix of Mexican and Salvadoran food and I've been coming to it for years. The old school drinks, plátanos con crema and pupusas are delicious. The jukebox with cumbias and musica latina sets a good vibe. The staff is friendly and it's not always too busy.“

“We recently stayed in Alexandria for a week and we ate here 3 times, the food was that good. The first night in town we ate here on the recommendation of our hotel doorman. My wife and I just opted for a burger and fries and they were so good we came back a second time. This time we both had the fried chicken breast with mashed potatoes, mine with green beans and my wife's with mac n cheese. Everything was fabulous once again. Hence our 3rd trip for Buffalo Wing night, shockingly, another great meal. Bonus, the house Pilsner is fantastic if you like beer.“
“The bartenders treat regulars better than others. You can order the same drink and get smaller glasses or cups than normal. Also if you order a drink such as a punch that needs to be shaken to mux properly they get lazy and just pour it and leave you to have to stor it. It does not taste the same. Plus they put very little alcohol in them. Shame not to feel welcome because you don't go every week. They stopped the dj through the week and they are boring with old timmers creepy male crowd on Thursdays especially. The food is the best and only reason to visit. Excellent cook.“
“The pupusas and tacos are a must. They're probably some of the better tacos you can get around the Landmark area. I did order their Birria Fries, and I had mixed feelings. The meet and toppings themselves were delicious; however, the fries were soggy and actually cold. I would definitely have enjoyed it way more if it was hot and crispy.I've also had the Birria tacos and Birria ramen during another visit. I'd definitely recommend them!“
“This place was very packed on a Saturday night. I see why the drinks were on point just the right balance. I had the whole wings. Which should be called jumbo wings. The crowd was a older crowd maybe 35 and up which was needed in that area.“
