“Went to UMD, ordered gyro platter or salad1-2 times per week for years. The gyro is 10/10, ingredients are always fresh, portions are GREAT. Family owned and operated and they make you feel like family when you’re there. Say hi to the owner George (he never forgets a face). I always stop by when I’m in the area or order on UberEats when I need my fix in DC.“

“When indecisive, go for the chefs table which includes all of the apps but also an extra tasting per course. Aside from the food which was near perfect, the ambiance is very unique outside dining in a semi enclosed courtyard, railyard bar, and dining in a lodge-like room with fireplace. Some of my favorite dishes were the veggies, surprising because I'm more of a meat eater. Cocktails were excellent but do ask the bartender since not all liquor is documented. Wine list is extensive“

“A good meal with well prepared Mediterranean dishes, however I found it slightly underwhelming compared to expectations I had beforehand. I was allocated at a table outside which turned out to be somewhat uncomfortable due to the cold weather, the restaurant could have heaters available. The inside ambiance is much nicer, with great architecture and ambient music, the right choice if available when going to this place. Reservations are apparently necessary, however I got a table just by walking in, although I arrived at the time when the restaurant opened, 11:30am.“

“I recommend HOWEVER the last two orders we’ve placed through Uber Eats have been missing items. A little more attention to these orders at your Rockville/Norbeck location is needed. Your customers shouldn’t have to tell you to check off your lists. Thanks!“

“Yia Yia's is a true gem, a short distance away from College Park. I always go here when I'm in the area and it never fails. Large portions, fresh and delicious food. Their big fat gyro and their spanakopita are awesome and I definitely recommend this place.“

“The Greek gyro and the Greek fries were amazing.... and amazingly huge! We went in to get a late lunch just for something to hold us over until dinner, but the gyro was so filling, we couldn't even finish the fries. The flavors, quality and speed were all outstanding, and we are definitely coming back for some lunch Sunday!“

“Authentic Greek food, amazing ambiance, and kind customer service? What more could you ask for? This restaurant serves amazing Greek food and you can tell they care about the food they serve and are very customer focused. I'm currently in town visiting but I know what restaurant is going to be my regular whenever I'm in town If you haven't visited, you need to, and get their famous gyro pita! You will NOT regret it“

“Came here for dinner and was very impressed. Everything was fantastic. The atmosphere is cozy and not too noisy. The service was great, and the timing was appropriate. All of the food was prepared well and tasted great. I had the Kabobs, which were tender and juicy, and there was plenty leftover to box up. I definitely recommend coming here if you haven't already.“

“Don’t underestimate the greatness of this place based on its humble location and signage. Excellent food made with simple, authentic ingredients. It feels like you are eating your grandmother’s food in Greece. One of the tastiest meals I have had in the DMV. I particularly enjoyed the mezze, like grilled octopus, giant white beans (gigantes) and tzatziki. Must return soon to work my way through more the of the menu. Service was also super warm and friendly. Recommend!“

“I really like this place for a breakfast meal on the way to work. It's small and not much room inside when busy. Bench top seating along the front windows and maybe one or two outside tables during the nice seasons. Service has been amazing over the several months I've worked in the area.“

“Iconic carry out with terrific Greek food. A downtown DC institution and deservedly so. Spanakopita and lamb are always delicious. One tiny downside: no time to ponder what you want to order — there can be long lines and the owners keep things moving. Take a look at the online menu beforehand.“

“We stopped in here for a quick dinner while staying at a hotel nearby. The restaurant is small, but cozy and it was very easy to order. We had a spread sampler with tyrokafteri, taramosalata, and tzatziki and pita and it was very good! It's not often you can find taramosalata, so that was a nice bonus to find that. We also got a horiatiki with pork souvlaki and the salad and pork were delicious. The only downside was that the olives were sweet, which is something my wife and I have never seen before, especially not at a Greek restaurant. Olives aside, it's a good restaurant and one that we would visit again if in the area.“

“Our favorite “basic” neighborhood Greek restaurant, even though it’s not in our neighborhood. Lots of street parking within walking distance. We split excellent homemade spanakopita and fried zucchini for appetizers. We shared the shrimp in tomato sauce and feta app and trout stuffed with spinach and feta as our mains. We shared a large piece of delicious homemade baklava for dessert. Wine prices are very reasonable. Service is very good. Highly recommend.“

“Amazing food! The customer service is top notch. Not too bad price-wise compared to other options in the area. Super chill. It was 91 degrees when we visited but we sat outside anyway because of a slight breeze and the shade. It was actually very comfortable after we settled in and we had a wonderful time! Highly recommend!!“

“Yummy food and nice people. It's quite close to the zoo, and walking to it wasn't too bad even though we were tired after visiting the zoo. We tried chicken and veggie platters, both were flavourful and light. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. We also brought their baklawa home and loved it.“

“The food was excellent----2 -lamb plates and 1-shrimp plate. The lemon potatoes were different and delicious. The warm pita bread and humus was a great appetizer while we waited on our order. This was a great little place for lunch after a trip to College Park IKEA--very close. Only counters---no tables, but food is worth it.“
