“Fun club, just not a fan of clubs and bars that have sexist entry fees. On rare occasions it will be less for both male and females to enter, some nights you pay the same until a certain time until its usually half price for females still, then 99% of the time females get a much lower entry fee while men pay 4x as much. My literal only problem with the place. I fully understand the reasoning but personally feel it's insulting to both sexes for different reasons.“

Casa Luna Bar Bar • $$
300 King St, Alexandria - 6.79 miles

“One of the newest cocktail bars on King street! This place is super cool and has a bit of a speakeasy vibe.We only got cocktails but they were all super good and unique. One of the bartenders, Andres, who was making our drinks used to work at a Michelin star bar and really showed it.He even made us custom cocktails when asked and was very nice to talk to.The atmosphere is very cute and very Instagrammable. The only thing is you have to use wifi because the bar is underground and there's no signal but other than that will definitely be going back.“

“Had a wonderful weekday evening meal at The Walrus. Brayan delivered fantastic service… attentive without being overbearing, knowledgable about selections, and quick with delivery when able. The tuna appetizer was phenomenal and the grilled fish was delicious but, as the entree, it was barely larger than the appetizer. All things considered, I got more than my money’s worth and the whole affair was made that much better by the waiter, Brayan (apologies for any misspelling of his name).“

“I enjoyed the ambiance, most of the food and choice of music. I did not particularly care for the crab rangoon. I tasted all cream cheese and green onion and could not taste any crab meat at all. The mocktail mango tango was just ok; It was a really sweet juice. I wanted to get a full experience to be able to take pictures of the way my food was brought out on the pink holding trays because this was my first time; but I was not given that option because my food was brought out in someone's hands. As I looked around, everyone else had the pink carrying tray left on their table, so I was a little upset about that. All in all, I would come back because the appetizer chili wings were good, and so was my shrimp and chicken pineapple curry fried rice.Parking: The parking is a little scarce because it is next to some high volume restaurants and businesses for example Chipotle, rent-a-, center and quickway.Kid-friendliness: The music isn't loud or vulgar, the place is nicely decorated and kids can sit and enjoy a nice Thai meal.Wheelchair accessibility: It's all on one level and the chairs can be taken away to accommodate a person within a wheelchair.“

“Alice is a nice place for girls night. The ambiance was lovely, low lighting and cute decor. There is a bar with seating for four. Based on other reviews, we made reservations to be on the safe side. It was a rainy Wednesday when we went so there was plenty of seating available. We were greeted and taken to our table immediately. We started with cocktails. The white rabbit is a tequila based cocktail and was quite refreshing. We also ordered the chicken wings and curry puffs as appetizers. We were not a fan of the wings but the curry puffs were amazing! For the entree, I ordered chicken pad thai was very authentic and topped with peanuts and fresh bean sprouts. I really enjoyed this flavorful dish. This is a very intimate spot and the entire staff was attentive to all of the guests. I plan on returning to try more food options and upscale cocktails. Note: There is no parking available in front of establishment. The nearest metered street parking is on S Columbus Street.“

“I was on the hunt for a dinner option and a nice ambience that would be different from all the places we have tried in old town. I can't even remember how I finally got to this restaurant, but I kept putting in dinner in Alexandria and boy was I oh so thrilled. First of all you step inside and by no means do you feel like you just came in from a strip mall or a strip mall parking lot. It is as nice if not nicer than some of the high end places in DC right now. Also, I have no idea how she is able to afford to pay her servers Whatever she is paying them because they are all so incredibly professional, kind, calm and engaging!!! They legitimately feel like one big family. I was excited that the chef and owner had routes from Louisiana and curious to see how that translated into the dishes. Nothing that we ordered was a disappointment. Everything exploded with flavor even the salad was a treat. The cocktails were really special as well, and this place is a A MUST visit if you are in the Alexandria area!“

Copper Compass Craft Distilling Co. Distilleries •

“Superb experience! I long to return and support this beautiful, black-owned business. Our host was knowledgeable, humorous and a delight to listen to (and look at). Unfortunately, the Little Miner Taco food truck that was scheduled to be there during our visit cancelled. Nevertheless, we had a good time. The rum is smooth, potent and tasty, a quality product. Our mixologist was so cool. She made me a custom cocktail that was my favorite color. It was infinitely "instagrammable"! I will definitely be back with a group to join me.“

“Discovered this restaurant for Alexandria's restaurant week and really glad I found it! It's a smaller space but very intimate, dimly lit, and well decorated! We were immediately greeted when we walked in and our server/bartender was extremely welcoming and friendly! We chatted for a bit and really loved the quality of service he provided. It was personable and professional. We tried the wagyu burger (perfectly seasoned and cooked, juicy!) and the hot chicken sandwich (crispy chicken, delectable sauce, overall 10/10 and a MUST). The appetizers we got Brussel sprouts (very bitter, a little soggy, overall a bit disappointing) and the ribbon fries (they were basically chips, but not seasoned or salted) topped with a mayo-based sauce that was pretty good but also pretty disappointing. We didn't have room for desserts but the main dishes and drinks were good! There is a speakeasy counterpart that is right next door with incredible cocktails. Excited to try it out soon.“

“Kings Ransom was a cool cocktail bar. It’s upstairs and has a neat vibe. Wasn’t busy when we went. The website makes it out to be a unique and amazing experience with specialized processes but when I arrived there was nothing like that at all. It was just a regular cocktail bar. Drinks were good but not anything over the top. The bartender was nice but definitely ready to go home as couldn’t find him for a while. Overall a nice place just not as advertised.“

Dionne’s Good Food Family • $
1110 Oak Dr SE, Washington - 9.75 miles

“Came by Dionne's before attending a Mystics game and it's the best decision I ever made! Don't walk there run there. Like right now. So good! And the Sycamore & Oak is just so cool - you have to go check it out.EnvironmentThis establishment is located in the Sycamore & Oak community space which is beautiful within itself. If you're not interested in food just go check out the space for all it has to offer - from clothing, to events like karaoke and speaking engagements or just to hang out with friends or even to get some work done - a great beautiful space. Dionne's is located in what i would call the 'food hall' They have a small stand where you order your food and then you can sit where ever you would like through out the space. There is also a large long bar where you can sit and eat and drink at as well. It's perfect for a pregame meal or just for a good time and a good meal.ServiceThe service was great. It's a family and black owned business (love it) and they were warm and welcoming. My friend and I stepped away to check out other stores in the space and while we were exploring they came and brought us our drinks which was extremely nice of them. It was great.Food and DrinksThe food was everything! We had the crab friends and salmon bites. Everything was delicious. I will definitely come back to try....everything. Yes everything. lol. I loved every bite and highly recommend.OverallOverall I loved all of the food and enjoyed the space. It was warm, welcoming and comfortable and the food was delicious and drinks were good and strong. I loved everything about this visit and will surely be back for more. Make sure you check them out!“
