“The cashier did not ring up right size for one drink but they remade it. Friendly staff, they work quick when really busy. This is probably one of the most uncomfortable locations as the furniture is all hard wood chairs. No couches, or lounge chairs like most other locations.“

“Great find and the perfect coffee spot for the hard to please, indiscriminant coffee lovers out there in the DMV! I stumbled on this place while riding past the Union Market neighborhood the other day, badly in need of coffee. And, so glad I did. I was completely impressed with the coffee products sold here at Unido. Also, I'd argue this is probably the best place in DC for coffee, if you're into single-source and specialty coffee brews. As a first timer, I was greeted by a Barista named Louis. This guy really knew his coffee and explained the concept of the coffee products in the store. During this time, I learned that the source of the coffee products sold were from Panama in which to be frank, I had no clue that Panama even had a global coffee presence. So out of curiosity, I was interested in trying their coffee to compare my thoughts of what they had to offer to other DC coffee 'Likes' around the city such as Sidamo, Blue Bottle Coffee, Kaldi's, Compass Coffee, La Colombe, Starbucks, and even Dunkin'! Yeah, I know....doesn't take much to outperform the latter....lol. At any rate, this place won me over. I was blown away by the flavor and taste of Unido and their Panamanian coffee. In the store, I tried a Geisha Pourover. The attention to detail, the presentation of the coffee, the ceramic cup all added to a great cup of coffee and ultimately my coffee pleasure. And the coffee itself, was delicious and perfectly brewed with a flavor profile that was nutty and chocolate. I like my coffee black and this one was perfect. I also tried an Iced Americano, at the recommendation of the Barista "to-go." The iced coffee was so rich, smooth, and full of an earthy --lite caramel flavor; which speaks to the care and quality of the beans that goes into making a cup. He added a shot of Ghirardelli dark chocolate that took this cup to the next level. In all, a great find. The vibe and atmosphere is chill and relaxing. Louis, the staff member there was knowledgeable and friendly, offering great suggestions for drinks to try. If you haven't been, I would recommend Unido....it's certainly worth a stop when in the Union Market neighborhood!“

“I had heard of Call Your Mother when researching good bagel places in DC. The bagels are okay - they are definitely not the chewy New York style I am used to. The everything was a bit underwhelming, however the apple cinnamon had just the right amount of sweetness. The oat latte was actually quite good; it’s a really good cup of coffee with a huge range of bagel sandwiches.Vegetarian options: You can build your own bagel sandwich and add veggies if you have specific preferences.“

“Super casual breakfast place- go up to the counter and order a comforting meal. Came in for breakfast and got the morning platter with French toast and bacon and a iced mocha coffee (which was good and and overly sweet!) Price point is fair and portions are filling. “Finally decided to try this hidden gem. The butter rum coffee didn’t disappoint and the beignets were delish! Friendly service in a relaxing atmosphere. A nice man in line behind me saw I was indecisive so I told him he could go ahead of me since it was my first time. He was a regular, said the coffee was good and the service was great. Paid for my coffee and beignets, which was so nice of him. He even shared some encouraging words and life gems….I love talkin to older people. I was having a horrible Monday….his kind gesture made my day. I’ll definitely be going back.“

“It was our first out of 2 nights in DC and I wanted to have high-quality, memorable, delicious food and that's what The Duck & the Peach provided! The ambiance felt artsy and people were dressed casually but the food was fancy and expensive. My partner and I got the duck feast and everything was tasty, particularly the duck. We are duck lovers who eat duck a lot especially from Chinese restaurants and this duck was so tender and the skin was crispy the way I like it. We also had the mint ice cream bar for dessert which was super unique, almost savory and wrapped in an edible covering but I couldn't place what the covering was made out of (maybe white chocolate)? It was an expensive meal but we also took home left overs and we would come here again!“

“Everyone who loves high quality coffee loves this place. I’m not even a coffee drinker, and I get their coffee because it’s so good. I LOVE the grilled chicken pesto panini sandwich, and it always hits the spot. When I have out of town visitors, this is a spot I can take them that never disappoints. Everyone leaves here happy.A few weeks ago after a workout class I heard a woman talking with another woman about getting some coffee. They were trying to find a new coffee place to go to after the class ended, and one suggested Lot 38 because her friend hadn’t been there yet. After mentioning Lot 38, three other women, who were not even in the conversation, overheard and jumped in to rave about how good Lot 38 is! I think this single interaction really demonstrates how loved this place is.“

“Mixture Food Hall offers a variety of vegan foods, desserts, drinks, organic supplements, oils & herbs, play areas, arcade machines & including sport TV monitors, seating areas,180° bar area, upperstairs lounge space, 5 individual restrooms, parking space. The only downside was that baby strollers couldn't be rolled into from sidewalk & had to lift up the stairs. The art moral could be used for a photo background.Vegetarian options: They offered Musa's fried oyster mushroom sandwiches & a variety of sides; tacos qucidillas; bar beers & drinks; burgers; wings & salads. My son didn't like Musa food due to too salty fried oyster mushrooms & salty fries were overcooked. The wait staff was professional; followed food safety guidelines & customer service oriented.Parking: Small to mid-size cars & suvs use space but tight parking spaces.Kid-friendliness: They offered a play area including a table & 4 metal kid chairs with educational toys & games; a loga board game, arcade machine & shooting arcade game.“

“Such a hidden gem! I had their pecan latte, which has actual pecan pieces in the drink. So creative! Limited pastry options, they do have vegan options. The vibe is cozy and cute, would love to come back to try their dinners/food and alcoholic drinks.Street parking available.“

“Chocolate pistachio croissant - 5 stars. so good and will be returning for this. Any place that has pistachio pastries is a place for me. Morning bun - very flavorful (cardamom & lemon) but a bit too dry for me. 3 stars Espresso & tonic - I did not like this at all, and will definitely get a safer drink option next time. There was a line at 130pm which I was surprised about, but it moved very quickly and we had no trouble finding a seat. Cute place, will be returning!“

“The service is amazing, especially from the long time staff members. We are chronically waited on my the same man, and he is always lovely and ensures everything is to standard. Also, where else can you go with friends that all like different cuisine? Everyone orders their choice, and it can range from sushi, to tacos, to pizza, to burgers, to pasta… the list is endless. We were so excited when the Roost moved in on Penn Ave, and we’re just as excited today as we were on day one, if not, more so. Please give the Roost a try if you’re ever in the DMV area! “The menu had too many good options and I wish I could come here all the time to get through the entire menu. During this trip, we tried the ube milk and the mango yuzu black tea. Both with boba of course. The ube milk was made with real ube so it was starchy like a potato, thick like a watered down milk shake, and really delicious. It wasn't sweet to me, it felt like a dessert vs a drink. The real winner was the mango yuzu black tea. It was also made with real mango fruit puree and tasted like a mango fruit leather. Bursting with flavor from the mango and had a zing from the yuzu, it was the perfect drink for the warmer weather outside. The boba was also so soft and chewy. This was a true boba place. And it was literally ran by one guy. If I lived in DC, this would be my go to boba drink place for sure.“

“A great neighborhood spot with plenty of free parking. Service is great and patrons are friendly. I don't live in the area anymore but fellow diners give a head nod like they're glad to see you again. It's a bit crowded Sunday afternoons. It's not a problem for couples, but large groups will have to wait a while.I had the curried chicken. The greens were so good that I forgot what the rest of the food tasted like. A number of people told me the drinks are good so I'll try one on my next visit.“

“Pretty crowded on Saturday afternoons, but that's to be expected. There were several tables to sit at and fortunately, it didn't take me too long to find something. They get their beans from Small Planes (one of my favorite DC coffee roasters) and their Honduras pour over (for 5.00) was smooth and enjoyable. I also got a chocolate croissant (for 6.00) to pair with it which was quite tasty. Overall, solid coffee and pastries here and the atmosphere was lively. Also, Capitol Hill is a great neighborhood to visit and enjoy a snack/coffee break!“

“Good coffee and nice atmosphere. I like their beans as well. I lovetheir butter croissant, I might be getting it everyday in college park. However, what is this disgrace? Do people really think a yemeni luxury item suddenly appeared in Vienna while everything in between ruled by Ottomans? It was a Turkish Luxury for years, and the western aristocracy got to experience it only after Turks lost to Vienna Siege and they went through a commoner soldier goodies. I dont think they would let a random Yemeni to Austria back then (they dont even do that right now), or a random Austrian would wander there and try local cuisine without oriental prejudice.“

“This place is so fun if you love a variety of Asian foods, and this evening I happened to walk in on a fantastic live jazz band playing by the bar. Last time, we had Korean tacos and tempura, this time I’m having croffles, miso soup, and spaghetti. (I know it’s weird but it’s all so delicious)“

“The coffee drinks served by this place are reasonably good, albeit a tad bit pricey. In addition, the atmosphere of this coffee shop is seemingly laid-back, mellow, jovial, and ultra low pressure. My only complaint is the lack of variety in regard to the sweetners for the coffee.“

“My first time in Washington D.C., I got off at Union Station. It took me about 5 minutes to walk to the store. The first time I saw the store I was very impressed. The atmosphere inside the shop is very good. My boyfriend ordered an Americano. I ordered a latte and it was delicious.“

“First visit to a Peet's coffee shop. I've had their coffee at other places but never their own establishment. Customer service was great from the start. The barista asked what kind of coffee I typically like. I told him I like to try new things. He made me a hot dirty vanilla chai. It tasted fantastic. I came here to study and they have plenty of room to do just that. Outlets everywhere including throughout the floor, so no problem scoping that out when you walk in and come with an uncharged laptop. After an hour of studying, I ordered my second drink and some sustenance. This time I ordered a hot hazelnut latte, extra hazelnut and a hot ham & cheese sandwich, extra crispy. It tasted perfect and was not skimpy on the ham or cheese. It's a rainy Saturday afternoon and the people here definitely came to get some work and studying done. It's quiet, the music is just the right volume, and the barista even brought my orders right to me. I'll definitely be back!“

“I know what you're thinking: this is a a coffee bar located in the lobby of an apartment building. It can't be that great, can it? Well, you would be wrong. This is my neighborhood coffee spot and I have been here so many times I've lost count. The coffee you get here is consistently well made. I haven't had everything on the menu, but the breakfast items (pastries and made-to-order dishes) are top notch. The funfetti cookie and classic breakfast sandwich deserve special mention. The front of house staff are incredibly nice and usually down to chat as much or as little as you'd like as they make your drink. Even better, this is now one of the first locally owned and operated coffee shops in the DC area where the workers have come together to bargain and set standards for their working conditions with management. It's well known that union-made coffee inherently tastes better because you know that baristas have power and a voice when management inevitably starts to cut corners and prioritize the profits of their budding coffee empire over the health and safety of their employees. (I don't know the owners, I just know how incentives work.) So sip in solidarity, my friends! If the quality declines here it'll be because management has decided to cultivate a hostile work environment to try and undermine the solidarity and hope it's employees have worked so hard to build.“

“Fairly frequent (weekly) coffee (Ethiopian) & samosa (pastry w/lentil filling) cafe; friendly and welcoming owners and clientele. I have not had the other selections but others do and enjoy. Prices, quality & portions are good. Stop in and support local small business.“

“Despite living in the area for a while, I hadn't been to this coffee shop, but finally got the chance last weekend. It was pouring, so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor seating but I was impressed how much seating they manage to squeeze into the small interior space. The space does feel a bit cramped (especially on a rainy Saturday) but this is clearly a local gem - the staff knew a lot of regular customers by name and the atmosphere was very cute. My friend and I got chai tea lattes, which were very good! Not too sweet, creamy but also nicely spiced. Would definitely get another one. I got a bacon, egg and cheese bagel, which was a little underwhelming for the price, but nothing wrong with it. Their cream cheese options looked good, so I think if I were to go for breakfast again, I'd just get a bagel with cream cheese. It's a little on the higher side of pricing, but it's a very great little shop, so I'm happy to support it. I'll be back!“

“Really enjoyed the food and vibe of this place. The staff was friendly, and the service was great. The center of the restaurant has shelves adorned by 100s of board games. I ordered the most basic breakfast and it was really good. The Americano was bold with chocolate and dark cherry notes. Delicious!“

“Our visit here was truly impactful! Not only did it give us the opportunity to immerse ourselves in deaf culture, but it also allowed us to practice our ASL & teach our kids another layer of inclusion and its importance. “Update: The College kids have caught on. This place is often packed with little to no seating available throughout the day. I hope they start to implement some rules for weekends to prevent solo guests from sitting at the two and four top tables while working on their laptop for prolonged periods of time.The College Park location is smaller than the Hyattsville original but there is essentially no parking in the designated lot. Park in the paid parking behind, never across the street due to strict towing there. The staff here is so nice and respectful. Despite loving the space of the Hyattsville location more I have come to prefer this location because the volume of the music is more reasonable for a conversation and the staff is more hospitable. Also the College Park location consistently serves FOR HERE items in mugs, glasses and plates. Hyattsville not so much.“

“Not sure why I haven't been here but glad I stopped in today. I had been greeted with a friendly smile and great smell of breakfast food being made, but sadly I just needed a caffeine pick me up and also something to keep me warm on this windy day. I got the spiced chai latte with caramel syrup and oat milk and honestly Starbucks you can eat your heart out ! This place knows how to make a good cup of chai. Perfect temp without even having to tell them, fragrant, tasty and just wonderful with each sip I took. I love love love pastries and they had some good looking options. The menu has just the right amount for breakfast, lunch or a nice pick me up. Will probably come back everyday if my wallet permits definitely gotta check this place out!“

“I was in a training near the 15th Street location of Zeke’s. Found it the first morning and went back every day. Shared my experience with others and we all loved it. “We stopped here for lunch because it was dog friendly, but that's only outside on the patio so thankfully we found a small table available. We ordered at the counter and they gave us a marker so they could bring the food to us. I ordered the Brussels sprout salad and added falafel. This salad was so amazingly delicious. I love roasted Brussels sprouts, and this hit the spot and was surprisingly filling. However, I wish there had been some other items in there to add some variety to the dish. My husband got the southwest salad and that came with chicken chorizo, black beans, cheese and avocado and he enjoyed it and it was also very filling. Very good and would recommend this restaurant.“

“A lovely milk tea spot that is known for plenty of milk tea options that come in reusable glass jars and aims for sustainability with paper straws as well. Prices range from $6-$8. One orders from a kiosk but the staff are incredibly friendly and the cafe setting is a nice place to meet friends or enjoy a drink. I didn't have a chance to try their snacks, but they definitely look really good.“

“This cafe was a great location for a cheap and quick bite. The service here was fast as it is just counter service and my food came out hot and quickly. The omelette was really great and definitely worth it for the price, however the potatoes were cold and not tasty. The seating inside is quite limited but there is a nice small cafe vibe. I would definitely visit Le Bon again but would opt for a side other than the potatoes.“

“I do not know if Proteus is a great bike store with an excellent coffee/espresso bar or an excellent coffee/espresso bar in a great bike shop. Either way it is worth going in for a look and a taste. The coffee/espresso bar also has fresh baked goods from a local bakery. The barista was friendly and skilled.“

“There are some hard-working and talented ladies behind that window of beautiful deliciousness. And it shows! Everything was phenomenal. 100% worth the wait in the weekend rush, too! I had the chorizo, the rosemary-fig tart, and the peach-sesame kouign-amann. Life-changing. Every bite. After a bite of their kouign-amann, I threw away the (more expensive) quiche/pastry I'd grabbed from Eastern Market and replaced them with Souk's. Serious upgrade.“

“First time here, only 2 vendors during the week one with West Africa food and the other Latin. The hall is pretty big with a bar and a smaller space for a vendor with Vegetarian dishes. On weekends other vendors come in. Tables for dining, WiFi available too. Taco Tuesday here so that's what l had 3 tacos for eleven bucks l had one chicken, one beef, and one pork served with a fresh garnish along with 2 sauces. Completely fresh and savory. Very small however. So check out the portions before you buy. I was hungry that day and had to go home and make a sandwich. lol all in all a nice place.“

“I really enjoyed my experience at Songbyrd. I'm disabled and standing for long periods of time at concerts can be extremely painful. One of the employees set up a chair for me in the front row when the doors were opened. All the staff I interacted with were very kind and helpful. Would definitely visit again.“

“This place is consistently good. They're so good they are only 1 of the 2 cafes that survived covid. The breakfast choices and options are good. I usually get the traditional breakfast (toast, home fries, eggs and turkey sausage/bacon). They have a good looking cheesesteak sub but unfortunately don't have a chicken cheesesteak. “This place is so good I went again--in the rain! I had the best veggie sandwich, which I modified to add extra ingredients to make it just perfect for my taste. Again, I also got the most flavorful coffee, macadamia nut flavored. It's so good I used no cream or sugar. It's simply flavorful all by itself. The service was impeccable again and let me tell you, it was crowded in there. The line was so long it almost turned me away. However, they know how to move that line along and all the while, give you a bit of an experience when you order. The place looks great and it was the perfect restaurant to settle in from the rain while having a great meal and some of the best coffee in the dmv.“

“Pros: went here for a birthday dinner/drinks and had an absolute wonderful time. The service was wonderful and we found a table quickly on Friday evening, and the place was super moody with the lights dim, but high enough that you could have have great conversation. The food selection was almost overwhelming, and everything we got from the nachos to the beef burrito to the amazing noodles were delicious. The two different types of margaritas looked good and tasted good too.Cons: no formal parking structure so you have to go on a search and destroy mission for a parking spot, which took a little bit because the streets are narrow and of course, there were lots of Ubers and things like that dropping and picking people up and car is trying to get through. But after a short walk with a few blocks, we found a spot. The nonalcoholic drink menu from the bar is definitely lacking. It's basically seltzer waters and no mock tails, but when I went up to the bar, I had more success and getting a ginger beer and I'm guessing they probably would've made a Mocktail to you just can't order it off the QR code menu.I'll definitely be coming back, it's a great spot where no reservations are needed and lots of food options are available for a smaller large party.“

“My exercise partner and I were looking for a place that wasn't local. We chose this location because it was 4.2 stars and roughly 30 minutes from our house. The first thing we noticed as we got closer to the entrance was that all of the windows in this property had steel bars covering them. I instantly thought, "We will be completely protected inside if there is a riot between the police and gangs outside." I discovered that you need to be buzzed in by the owner to enter the restaurant as I was reaching to open the entrance.“
