“Written by a Peruvian who is often in LA, NYC, DC, MIA. Trust me, I (and many Peruvians) hunt excellent Peruvian food wherever we go. Our gastronomy is becoming world-renowned (yaay) and so some (!) are trying to cash in and provide sub-par/tasteless/bland stuff and try and sell it as “Peruvian” food. Well, Puerto 511 and Chef Jose are exceeding all expectations. First thing you notice after laying eyes on the beautifully plated dish is the freshest ingredients but then, BAM, the perfect combination of taste, spice and tenderness hits you. Delicious as it should be when made right. He serves traditional flavors in a gourmet-style. PrixeFixe dinner of 5 delicious courses which was completely perfect. Beginning with the super tender veal anticuchos (with the nice and spicy sauces), to the tuna en su causa (perfectly seasoned potatoes layered with the freshest tuna) and the sashimi in aji amarillo and ending with churros (made as they should be with a pumpkin-base dough) topped with a scoop of guanabana ice cream, strawberries and Dulce de Leche! Each dish had our beautiful and familiar Peruvian flavors, all exploding nicely in your mouth. Excelente!“
“I am extremely big on great customer service. Each and every time I have been here I have been made to feel how a customer should feel. Great service. Delicious food. I wish I had a better way to express how great this experience was, but I definitely would highly recommended this business.“
“What a PLEASANT SURPRISE! My wife and I frequently go to this out of the way shopping center for three stores: Ollie's, Mom's and a Goodwill Thrift store. We always pass Pollo Fiesta on the way in but never ate here before this visit. First things first, I am GLUTEN FREE and MANY "Peruvian" or South American rotisserie chicken places marinate the fowl in BEER (cerveza) and/or use soy sauce in seasoning...this prohibits the delightful pollo from my diet! The wonderful young lady who was managing Pollo Fiesta the day we were there assured me that the chicken was hand rubbed with a gluten free seasoning blend. Both my wife and I LOVED it! I had a side of black beans that were good. NOT GREAT, to me, because I am used to Cuban black beans that are seasoned differently. My wife had a side of plantain that she loved. This restaurant does not offer much in the way of ambience. But it IS very suitable for a family with young kids! The service is wonderful! I highly recommend this restaurant!“
“This has to be one of the best places in the area for some amazing Peruvian chicken. My family and I had the family combo which is enough for a family of 6 easy. The food is great, flavors are spot on but for anyone who is not familiar with Peruvian mash potatoes these are not your typical mash potatoes, but they are great. They have an excellent choice of sides and they were all great. Anyone stopping by who loves flan must try their flan. The music and the decor was also incredible and really nostalgic.“
“I made a challenge to try a different restaurant each week. Yesterday I decided to order via GrubHub and try the Chicken + Whiskey Restaurant at Columbia Mall. I ordered the half chicken meal with corn tomato salad and macaroni and cheese. The chicken was extremely juicy which I loved. The aji amarillo sauce took the chicken to another level! The macaroni and cheese was very creamy but it lacked seasoning. The corn and tomato salad tasted like it might have been made a few days before because the corn was chewy and it lacked seasoning. To me, it was not bad for the price and I was able to make two meals and doctor up the sides when I got home. Still recommend this place as the restaurant was clean and the service was good.“
“Was looking for a link to review, but this is only giving the option to recommend or not. Oh well. I guess I’d recommend this place based on the fact that they serve chicken outside of the scope of Baltimore’s “chicken box and fry” combo. The food, however, was over cooked and the chicken was salted more than I’d expect. Foods that I’ve tasted at this location: 1/4 chicken (too salty and not juicy like the other reviews have claimed) Fried plantain (black and burnt...overcooked) Cilantro rice ( best item so far) Beef empanadas (cooked way too long...overcooked) I’ve experienced food from other Peruvian restaurants, and I cannot say that Primo Chicken is at the top of my list. Sardis still is a winner over top of Primo Chicken.“
“First time my husband and I came and the workers were all extremely nice even with my not knowing of where to start ordering. We got the Lima’s special & it was enough food for 2 meals for my husband and I for $35.My only issue were the fries, everything in Lima’s is nice and has flavours behind it. The fries were just plain and lame. Definitely underwhelming & was expecting more like a seasoned fry.“
