“GOB makes the best cakes - hands down! I typically do not like icing, but Nicole makes the best icing. It isn't too sweet and perfectly balances her cakes. On top of that, her designs are beautiful. I will never get a cake from anyone else.“

“I'm lucky enough to live within a short distance and use Manifest as an excuse to take a walk with a reward at the end. Everything I've bought has been amazing and delicious. The prices are reflective of the quality and efforts that go into the final product. My go-to's are the apricot financiers, the fig and goat cheese sandwich (it's great warmed or toasted), and you can't go wrong with a cardamom roll. It defeats the purpose of my excercise a bit, but I'm definitely not complaining. The hours are a bit restrictive, but it's probably what's saving me from being there all the time ?“

“The food was good, but definitely not worth $57 a person on a Thursday night….We ordered four dishes (fermented cabbage toast, arancini, thai fried chicken, and scallop crudo) and had a drink each. Portions were small, even the “entrees.” Will not go back anytime soon for dinner. Our waiter was very nice though.*Came back over a year later for dinner because of an InKind Coupon. The $50 off $50 made the meal more worth it. But still expensive for what youre getting.“

“It’s a cute, little bakery run by some lovely, wonderful people.I’m a pretty big guy who used to be overweight. My love for sugar is still very much present lol. That said, whenever I eat anything from here, I don’t feel that “guilt” or “shame” you feel when you prick up a candy bar.Everything that I’ve tried here is the perfect amount of sweet. Not too much, not too little. It will satisfy your sweet tooth without making your doctor cry at the amount of sugar you just ingested.It’s also very filling. I can easily eat 2-3 donuts from a donut shop. Meanwhile, I’ll be 3/4 of the way thru a pastry from this bakery and I’ll struggle to eat the rest. I want to eat the rest because they’re VERY delicious but it’s more than meets the eye.Also extremely well priced. The average for a single pastry or slice of cake seems to be right below $4 I think. Might be slightly off but the point is I didn’t feel like I was spending a lot. Again, for something that will fill a grown man up without being half your daily amount of calories in a single serving like some of these other sweets, this place is near impossible to beat.I love this place“

“Chocolate pistachio croissant - 5 stars. so good and will be returning for this. Any place that has pistachio pastries is a place for me. Morning bun - very flavorful (cardamom & lemon) but a bit too dry for me. 3 stars Espresso & tonic - I did not like this at all, and will definitely get a safer drink option next time. There was a line at 130pm which I was surprised about, but it moved very quickly and we had no trouble finding a seat. Cute place, will be returning!“

“The selection is limited, but their breads are incredible. The cranberry walnut bread is the same bread found at le diplomate. My favorite bread is the black sesame harissa. Expect to wait in line. Only about three people fit in the store at a time, but it’s worth it.“

“Upon entering the facility, I was showing my mom what cookies were available for the week, waiting for the kiosk when one of the employees asked if we would like help. They took our order and showed us the beautiful cookies. I had a jammy heart cookie that was sweet and delicious!“

“I got the chocolate croissant, and was really surprised when I realized it was a whole wheat croissant. The first whole wheat croissant I've ever had, and it really adds a nice nutty flavor to the croissant. The texture of the inside is also a bit chewier than your average croissant, with a lovely crisp on the outside. I just wish there was a bit more chocolate, but the croissant itself was wonderful, and I'm super glad I got to try the whole wheat. I also got a cortado, which was just ok. This is definitely a bakery first, so would highly recommend stopping by and grabbing some of the pastries!“

“I know what you're thinking: this is a a coffee bar located in the lobby of an apartment building. It can't be that great, can it? Well, you would be wrong. This is my neighborhood coffee spot and I have been here so many times I've lost count. The coffee you get here is consistently well made. I haven't had everything on the menu, but the breakfast items (pastries and made-to-order dishes) are top notch. The funfetti cookie and classic breakfast sandwich deserve special mention. The front of house staff are incredibly nice and usually down to chat as much or as little as you'd like as they make your drink. Even better, this is now one of the first locally owned and operated coffee shops in the DC area where the workers have come together to bargain and set standards for their working conditions with management. It's well known that union-made coffee inherently tastes better because you know that baristas have power and a voice when management inevitably starts to cut corners and prioritize the profits of their budding coffee empire over the health and safety of their employees. (I don't know the owners, I just know how incentives work.) So sip in solidarity, my friends! If the quality declines here it'll be because management has decided to cultivate a hostile work environment to try and undermine the solidarity and hope it's employees have worked so hard to build.“

“It was my first time going to this place , the staff can try to be more welcoming and pleaseant and help they clients to order , I had to take my mask off to speak and let them know what i wanted and as i was ordering I felt like i was being rushed to order , the food was tasting but tge owner needs to change the way the food is charged , I was charge for each separate item this is not a place where you order yourself a complete meal for a full charge , the food was delicious but I would not go back and another turn off in the bakery area they had flies around the sweet bread .“

“I tried this place via a neighbor's recommendation and it was sooo good. The cupcakes are fresh and moist and a really good size for the price. The buttercream is not overly sweet, but still sweet enough. These are literally my favorite cupcakes ever. The shop is in a great location with cute decor and friendly staff. The inside feels pretty instagrammable this time of year (cherry blossoms make the prettiest backdrop!).“

“This was such a lucky find! I took a chance using a Too Good to Go and bought a birthday cake for my son. It was so fresh and delicious! I was worried when I pulled into shopping center because it’s in an industrial area, next to a Uhaul place. But when I walked up, the outside sidewalk was decorated with two huge teddy bears at a tea table sharing a pastry. It gave me a good feeling about the shop that the owner went to the trouble to make a cute display. And inside, the bakery is spotless. My Spanish is rusty, but the staff spoke enough English I had no problems. They also have a little hot food case and I bought a delicious vegetarian tamale and coffee to m, which were inexpensive, very filling, and really tasty. I will definitely be back.“

“I liked the service, food and atmosphere, the thing that I liked the most was that I am allergic to certain foods and I was shocked because they had other options too. They made me a dish of things that I could eat. I was so comfortable. “We are so glad to see this cafe do well in our neighborhood. I believe in cafes in every neighborhood. We walk our dog every morning and grab hot chocolate and coffee when we walk by this place. They have recently redid their interiors. Looks much spacious now and very welcoming. With my drinks, I often get their samosa or spinach puffs. It's so good. For lunch, my go to is their Ethiopian combo. They have 5 different veggies and recently added meat as well. Absolutely delicious! Depending on how busy they are, expect to wait for the Ethiopian entree. Worth it.“

“I found Sweet Almond at a wedding expo but used her services for a corporate event and she didn't disappoint. I ordered a variety of macarons and Leah was great to work with from the beginning! She was very responsive, accommodating, and even dropped of my order early. She's also so sweet and wonderful to work with. Her macarons were soo good and everyone also loved them. I will definitely be ordering from her again!“

Their house made mocha syrup and lavender syrup were perfect, not too sweet either!!The blackberry and lavender scone was DELICIOUS!!!The environment was also calming and inviting. “Stumbled upon this cute bakery. It was bustling on a Saturday morning. I love all the countertop/bar seating, makes for a charming aesthetic. We sat on the patio and really enjoyed it. We only got coffee and a few baked goods (ham & cheese croissant which definitely surpassed our expectations and a cinnamon pecan rose which we would also get again) There were many other options & we’d definitely come back to try other items. The regular latte was 5/5, the black coffee was average and we’d probably not opt to order that again.“

“I live across the road from Woodmoor Pastry Shop and have been here maybe close to a dozen times over the years. At first I was not sure what the fuss was all about, but now that I'm more of a regular and have sampled most of their product types, I know what's good. What's great about this shop is that they have a bit of everything, and much of it is made fresh daily, especially when it comes to bread, morning pastries and doughnuts. Things like cookies and cupcakes are probably not made daily, and at times I've had some cupcakes that were a bit dry. Where they stand out is what they make on a daily basis - the doughnuts and morning pastries and they make some decent breads and buns. The cookies have often been a miss for me as well as some of the other baked desserts. The cupcakes I would overall recommend the specialty ones, such as the Hostess and carrot cake. But what ends up bringing me into the shop on some mornings after my Saturday parkruns? The cronuts! They are big, fresh and oh so delicious. Even the day after, the are amazing (even more doughy and dense, in a good way!) The service is always fast and friendly and the price is very fair too!“

“I am very picky about my desserts. I've tried a lot more than most people, so I only like the best. I ordered a red velvet cake for my bf's birthday and it is the best red velvet cake we've found locally.The icing was sweet, but not too sweet, and the cake was moist and delicious. I really appreciated that the red velvet wasn't just red plain cake, but actually had a hint of chocolate like red velvet should. The cake to icing ratio was also good.The cake appearance is like a home bakery, so I went in with the expectation of it being like that. In the end taste is king. I will note we had a small snafu with pick-up, but Timmy followed up with communication which I appreciated. It's nothing that would prevent me from trying Timmy's again for some other cakes.“

“date of visit: Wed Aug 23, 2023 After walking through the city -we felt we deserved a sweet treat. We stopped into Larry's ice cream to satisfy our sweet tooth. Larry's is a small ice cream parlour on the lower level of a building. if you arent paying attention, you might miss it. The flavours of ice cream were very unique - i had never seen anything like this before. Obviously this is a small batch, hand-crafted artisinal ice cream. Oatmeal cook dough, Ginger (Peach, Brandy, Ginger) Pistachio , cardamom almond, and many others. We ordered a double scoop in a waffle cone. THe flavours were very good and quite unique. We enjoyed the ice cream very much. Quality ingredients, top notch flavours, and hand made - these things are worth paying a premium price for. The portions are a little smaller than you might get at some ice cream shops - but NOT compared to the big BR ice cream.“

“Just met up with a friend there for breakfast and all of our food was really good, as was the coffee, chai, and ambience. I had a cauliflower and something frittata that was great and he add avocado toast with cheese (maybe gruyere?) and bacon (!). I recommend and look forward to returning.“

I had the chorizo, the rosemary-fig tart, and the peach-sesame kouign-amann. Life-changing. Every bite. After a bite of their kouign-amann, I threw away the (more expensive) quiche/pastry I'd grabbed from Eastern Market and replaced them with Souk's. Serious upgrade.“

We ordered at the counter and they gave us a marker so they could bring the food to us. I ordered the Brussels sprout salad and added falafel. This salad was so amazingly delicious. I love roasted Brussels sprouts, and this hit the spot and was surprisingly filling. However, I wish there had been some other items in there to add some variety to the dish. My husband got the southwest salad and that came with chicken chorizo, black beans, cheese and avocado and he enjoyed it and it was also very filling. Very good and would recommend this restaurant.“

“Service is great , most of the time it’s pretty busy, very popular local place. I love the tortas they make although they may sometimes run out of avocados.But if you go in early in the morning close to when the open I hope you get to taste the amazing tortas they make. They are all very hard works and try their best to keep things clean and organized and bring good service to those who wake up very early in the morning for work.“
