“A wonderful visit for our large group! We inquired about a reservation for our group of teenage girls and their families to stop in after our team played a lacrosse game in the area. They were ready for us upon our arrival and treated us very well. The service was fast and friendly. The regular menu is large, and since we were there during brunch hours, we had those options too - the food was delicious. And the adult beverages did not disappoint! “As a somewhat regular at the Tombs and having dined at a few of the many Clyde's Restaurants, I can honestly say that my expectations were nowhere near as high as to the level of quality that my friends and I enjoyed tonight at the 1789. In a word it was simply "AMAZING". The service was flawless, there were there when we needed them and mysteriously disappeared when we were set. Sometimes in fine dining the service staff can be hovering over us like Seagulls on the prowl at the Jersey Shore. We took our time to consume three courses and an enjoy a few libations. The dining room is intimate and inviting the fireplace was lit aglow, warm and comforting to sit by. The menu is adventurous but not contrived or so esoteric that we needed to google explanations so that we might navigate our choices. Presentations were elegant and simple with the emphasis on execution. Unlike so many trendy new places around DC seem to be awash in multiple concoctions that involve far too many syllables. The flavors were on point and the kitchen showed a prowess that must only come as a notice that it's all about the taste, the freshness and the seasonality that we find ourselves in. The New Bedford Seared Sea Scallops were delicious, plump and sweet. And the accompanying sauce just perfectly paired with the Scallops. The Escargot garlicky and salty. The only ever so slight misstep was with the Grilled Octopus, a wee tad rubbery possibly didn't poach long or slow enough to tenderize the tentacles before they were finished on the Grill. Our Entrees were all eagerly passed around the table and there was unanimous agreement that all four were perfect. We sampled the Lamb, the Halibut, Duck and the Wagu Short-ribs, whose taste and tenderness took me back to a similar experience 30 years ago at a small French Cafe in Newport. In my Humble opinion this entire experience was undoubtedly the finest meal I've ever been served in our Nations Capital. Reservations are almost always a must but trust me it is indeed worth the wait. Everyone got dessert because we were all part of the Clean Plate Club. Of particular note was the 1789 Pastry Chef's interpretation of Classic Carrot Cake. Reservations are highly recommended and be assured that you will leave with a delicious taste in your mouth and an overwhelming urge to plan your return to the "1789".“

“Food was delicious, beautifully presented and plentiful. Waitstaff was very busy but managed their tables fairly well. The food delivery was not as professional though; we were asked to “pass the plates” to the correct recipient even though there was room for that staff to maneuver to the person and place the plate in front of them. Tables are crowded together and although we made a reservation for a celebration and asked for a table location out of the main traffic, we were pushed to one of the most heavily trafficked spots, near the entrance to the bathroom, to the bar etc. We requested a change and were accommodated at a table but it was frustrating to see 2 women seated at a booth designed for 4 persons, that could have accommodated my party more appropriately. I wondered if our reservation request had even been considered. All in all, it's the food that will bring me back to give dining here another try.“

For food, I got the blackened mahi-mahi and brussels sprouts. The mahi-mahi was scrumptious, tender and smoky from the grill. It was served over yummy cilantro rice and creamy/zesty lemon butter sauce. Needless to say, I wiped my plate clean! The brussels sprouts was also stellar - everything crispy in it from bacon to shallots to the actual brussel sprouts. It was served with bleu cheese, which rounded out the crispy heartiness with just the right amount of funk! We also sampled through a few of the delicious beers on tap from kolsches to sours. “First time at Bazins on Church. We arrived a few minutes earlier than our reservation and we were seated immediately. Since we had an early reservation, it was too packed when we got there. Our server came over right away to offer water and show us the specials menu. My husband ordered a pear martini that he said was good, but boozy. I just had a soda. For appetizers we split the jumbo lump crab meat spring roll. It was more of a deconstructed spring roll with the slaw on the outside. It was delicious. We appreciated that he took the order of two rolls and split it between two plates. For dinner my husband had the Atlantic cod and jumbo shrimp over cheddar grits. He said the cod was a nice portion, but with only 2 shrimp on his plate it seemed a bit pricey and he expected at least 4. I had the blue cheese crusted flat iron steak with red wine reduction and garlic herb fries. The red wine sauce made the blue cheese watery vs crusted. While I know flat iron steak isn't the most tender cut of meat, this was pretty tough. The fries were good, but would've preferred them to be more crispy. We shared the broccoli frito...very good, crunchy with a nice kick to it. We will definitely be back. Nice place to go, great decor, with an upscale casual feel.“
“Idlywood is a favorite spot for dinner. The service is excellent, with a good selection of wines and an atmosphere that permits conversation at normal speaking levels. We tried a couple of new dishes as well as a favorite appetizer (shrimp ajo) and salmon Caesar. We haven't been disappointed in any of the salmon selections. The branzino is also a favorite. The chicken parmesan, a new item , was especially good. Highly recommended.“
“I’ve never heard of this place until today and glad I came. My friends and I tried their burger and it was probably one of the most flavorful burgers I’ve had. Presentation looks like a simple burger but the taste is outstanding. They nailed the beef done medium, their house sauce is balanced, and their bun was great. Their fries were also very crisp and done right. I ordered another burger to-go since it was so good. I’ll be coming back to try the other things on their menu. “We tried Harth last night and are glad we did. It's in the lobby of the McLean Hilton so it's easy to get to and there's plenty of parking. It was not very busy on a Friday night, unlike every other restaurant in Tysons which are overrun with guests. My guess is it's because few people are aware of its existence....and that's what makes it nice (I prefer peace and quiet to crowds when dining). It's a great spot for a date night. The ambiance is wonderful, the service is top notch, the food presentation is stellar, and it was all very tasteful..no need for salt/pepper/condiments. “This was my second visit to Yard House. The food was even better this time around. The vodka sauce with chicken over penne was fantastic. My only feedback would be to slice the chicken instead of sending out a whole chicken breast. My friend got the Mac n Cheese and said it was amazing. We finished with the Oreo Brookie, which did not disappoint, it was warm and sweet and delicious. My only complaint, and the reason I'm leaving 4 stars instead of 5, is that Yard House does not keep salt and pepper on the tables. Why? I think this is a huge miss. I had to request salt and pepper, and because my server was sat a big table right before my request, I had to wait more than 5 minutes before finally getting it, as my food got cold. This wasn't my servers fault, this is 100% on management for this silly policy. In the future I'll ask for salt and pepper as soon as I'm seated.“

“My partner and I work occasionally at Imagination Stage. This place is perfectly situated just off the main part of busy downtown Bethesda. Very accessible, quick, clean service. I've been to plenty of places in the DMV which claim this "New York" aesthetic and this is the best I've been to so far. The staff is incredibly friendly and always attentive. My partner has made friends with the girl who works the register. I'm sure she does so much for the establishment and it makes the place a comfort to spend some time in. Their selection of drinks and food and other confectionery is really good considering their smaller size. “I went with family for dinner on a Tuesday night and loved the spot! The restaurant has a very nice aesthetic and both the drink and food ordered were delicious! The rest of the group seemed happy with what they got too. The drink I got was called “The Clementine” (reposado tequila infused with clementine & chili, bénédictine, lime, pineapple, agave) which was amazing! The different flavors worked together perfectly. For the food I got the spicy ahi tuna poke which was also very good, but not the best ahi tuna poke bowl I’ve ever had. I’ll be back for sure!“
