The place was great for group parties & for children's parties ( an area dedicated for that. And a glass partition so that they could enjoy themselves and there could be a high volume of noise. That was enjoyable). But kitchen was missing quite a few sauces: they weren't available, didn't have ingredients from certain entrees listed on the menu (enchiladas), cocktails made in incorrect glasses and not made correctly. It took a long time to have entrees placed on table, then they were not as listed on menu. Servers were polite, so a generous tip was given due to multiple servers' happy disposition not the food. I would call to see if foods and sauces are available that are listed on the menu.Vegetarian options: The chicken fajitas were very hot when servers but for the price, limited ingredients except onions, not many pieces of chicken. Be prepared for an experience. I hope it was a one time thing and an unusual day.Dietary restrictions: Don't go there if dietary restrictions.Kid-friendliness: Great for kidsWheelchair accessibility: County requirements fulfilled.

Great Mexican restaurant. Very authentic. Not as commercialized as other places. Lots of variety. Amazing food. Definitely will come back.

I keep on giving this place my business despite how mediocre it is. The salsa is bafflingly inedible. Anytime I order takeout, the salsa goes straight into the garbage. It's watery and bitter. Disgusting. I don't understand how a Tex-Mex place cannot create a salsa fit for consumption.Guac is good, rice and beans are good, enchiladas are okay (pork is dry).

So good! This place reminds me of the Mexican restaurants in Texas. Food was great. Tasty salsa. Quick service. They were on top of things. It was a Saturday night too.

Carmelo and his team serve great food in a friendly atmosphere and the prices are so reasonable for what you get. I love this place!

I actually love the food at Villa Maya. My issue is that they consistently do not put everything I ordered in the bag for take out. No guacamole ($15 item!!!). I called and asked them to deliver it - and they don't deliver. I just hope they will implement a system whereby they give the customer everything they order. And that is why I am writing this review.

The food here was not good. There were several of us and we all agreed. I don't know where to begin. I just would never eat there again. The mussels were fishy, horrible in a thick tasteless sauce, not the white wine, butter and garlic sauce that the menu described. The salad was not fresh, just some brownish lettuce and a piece of a cucumber and some not very good dressing.Parking: The parking is the only good thing about this place. Well, the waiter was nice.

Was pleasantly surprised with our meal here. Carne asada had good flavor, and service was good even on a busy night. Some negatives were that the taquitos sinaloa were plain tasting, and the table salsa was watery/lacking flavor. Having lived in Montgomery County for 10 years, Uncle Julio's in Rio Gaithersburg has been my family's go-to for Tex Mex over the years. We've not liked the direction they've gone recently with their menu or pricing practices, so hopefully Villa Maya can remain a great alternative for the foreseeable future.

Wonderful place! Excellent service and for Brazilians the seasoning is very similar to that of our country??
