“"La Fonda Paisa offers a taste of Colombia in the heart of Silver Spring, with a menu that showcases traditional Colombian dishes bursting with flavor. While I've found a few dishes that I truly enjoy, such as Sancocho or Bandeja Paisa, the overall dining experience is somewhat overshadowed by shortcomings in service and ambiance. The service at La Fonda Paisa, unfortunately, falls short of expectations, with occasional lapses in attentiveness and efficiency detracting from the overall experience. Additionally, I couldn't help but feel that the ambiance could be improved with some attention to decor. A refreshed interior design could elevate the dining atmosphere and enhance the overall dining experience.Despite these drawbacks, the authentic flavors of Colombian cuisine shine through in select dishes, offering a tantalizing glimpse into the culinary richness of Colombia. For those like me, craving a taste of home or a culinary adventure, La Fonda Paisa serves as a welcoming haven. La Fonda Paisa not only serves up authentic Colombian cuisine but also offers a delightful shopping experience for those craving a taste of Colombia.“
“Great food, ambience, service. Clean and open. Bathroom always in order and presentable. In the heart of Silver Spring. All that is missing is a boat dock to park my LST landing craft with hundreds more customers.FYI: La Colombiana is overhauling their menu my expanding selections to include more soups, sandwiches, salads and Colombian desserts. Ando la bandeja Paisa is my favorite I'm eager to try something new from the Colombiana kitchen.“
“El Cielo made our Valentine’s celebration a memorable experience! I wanted to surprise my husband this year and the CCO, Pedro, was very helpful when it came to helping me with last minute reservations. The entire staff was friendly, eloquent, and very professional. My husband and I are both Spanish speakers (it is our mother tongue) and we loved interacting with the staff in Spanish (this made it so much more special to us). Now, as for the food. Let me just start by saying that when I told my husband what our dining experience would be like, he was very skeptical. He is an amateur fighter, and when he is not doing “fighting camps” he LOVES to eat. When we arrived he was already making plans to go eat arepas after, to finish filling his tummy. Needles to say, arepas did not happen after, as he was extremely full from all the courses. Each meal was beautifully presented, and tasted just as divine! We loved knowing what each meal represented and they are all a beautiful homage to Colombia. The atmosphere in El Cielo, is very cozy. The aesthetics of the restaurant itself makes you feel like you are eating at a friends house. From the decorations to the music. Y para terminar, usando las palabras de mi hermoso esposo después de finalizar nuestra cena “Parce, toda esta comida estaba tan rica que te hace sentir que estás en el cielo”. El Cielo, un nombre tan propio para este encantador lugar. Nuevamente, muchísimas gracias a todos por hacer, y ser parte, de esta experiencia única e inolvidable para nosotros. Hasta la próxima!“
“Food is exquisite and very abundant. Service is great. Owners treated mynoisy kids very kindly. We were given extra pan de Bono and buñuelos as we were leaving the place. Picada and pastel de yuca are out this world, soups are just like the ones you find in Colombia.“
“I’ve been coming here for about 5 years. The restaurant is small but clean and the staff is always friendly.I always get the Chicharron con Arepa, Arepa Pabellon, or Arepa de Camaron. The arepas are always good and made fresh to order. This is not “fast food”, so if you are in a rush, I suggest placing an online order. If you are a fan of flan or tres leche cake, give it a try here. You can tell that they make the dessert in house. Both are very enjoyable!Street parking and garage parking are near by.“
