“Excellent Pha Naeng (Panang) Curry. I get it without bell peppers with shrimp and brown rice. It is my favorite and the best in town. Crab Rangoon is superb. Vegetable dumplings taste good steamed. I don't care for the black sauce but that is personal preference. Shrimp dumplings could use improvement. I didn't care for the Pad Thai. Their 5 star scale is a true scale not Maine's 5 star bland scale.Vegetarian options: Plenty of shrimp and vegetable options.“
“I love this place! The food is delicious and the family who owns it is very kind. When I asked my server for gluten-free soy sauce, she alerted me to the fact that I had accidentally ordered a dish with wheat in it, remaking it for me immediately. I really appreciated her help with my dietary restrictions. It’s sometimes hard to find asian food that’s gluten-free, but this place has a lot of options and it’s very good! I had the pad Thai and tuna sushiDietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegetarian options“
“Had a great experience here. Outstanding food with great flavor and presentation. Service was great... Warm, welcoming, and attentive. Love the atmosphere. Will be back. Highly recommended!Dietary restrictions: Good selection of Gluten Free options“
“They might say that they are Thai-ish here, but all we can say is Wow, Wow, and Wow! We ordered for pickup the Dumplings, Choo-Chee Banh Mi, Shrimp Crackers and Grilled Lao Sausage. Every dish was above and beyond everything that we have tried for Thai in the whole state of Maine and add Boston to that too. I could have eaten a bucket of the Lao Sausage, and the Banh Mi just blew us away. Shrimp Crackers and the Dumplings are a must order too!“
“Jojo’s Thai Kitchen had been on our list for some time due to their high ratings. We finally tried them out for takeout, before committing to a full dining experience, and now we cannot wait to return. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the food is delicious. Their food was one of the best Thai food I’ve had in the greater Portland area, which says a lot considering all of the incredible Thai restaurants nearby. The massaman curry was delicious and the drunken noodles were to die for. I ordered a spice level 4 and it was really spicy, just as expected. If you’re not into spicy food, make sure you stick to a 1.The crab rangoons were hands down the best I’ve had in years. The curry puffs were good, but I think next time I’ll just order more crab rangoons. The food was packed with care. When we picked it up we interacted with the staff and they were so friendly. Now I truly can’t wait to come back and dine in.“
“Nice little Thai cuisine on route 1 in Scarborough. The food is fresh and always good. Love that they offer steamed brown rice, not many places do!I’ve eaten in and ordered take out several times. Eating in is fine, but I prefer take out. Its clean, but the place is dimly lit and old. The staff is always friendly!“
“Great atmosphere, very inviting, toddler chairs are available. Beer and wine at the moment. Good is very flavorful.Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free itemsKid-friendliness: Comfortable booth seating and high chairs for small kids“
“After being recommended this spot multiple times, I took date night as the opportunity to try it out. Let me just say, I haven’t stopped thinking about this meal. We started out with the Moo Ping which was okay, and then enjoyed the Blossom Dumplings which was impossible not to devour in one bite. The star of this entire review is the Mee Ka Te which had a spicy curry broth that was unlike any other flavor I have had before. The service was fast and the Thai Tea was perfect. For sure, will be back.“
“Boda has always been one of my favorite places to go for a special night out. I say special because the ambiance is really warm... Candles that every table, the food is warm and delicious and presented beautifully. The prices are reasonable and competitive for Portland. The staff is also always friendly. They also have a cute bar room and a late night menu which is slightly different from their regular menu. Don't forget to try the quail eggs for a starter.Vegetarian options: They have curry and noodle dishes that you can get with tofu instead of chicken or fish or beef. They also have appetizers that are vegetarian.Parking: If it's during the day you will most likely have to pay for street parking, but if it's after 5 or 6:00 street parking is free but plan ahead because it takes a little while to find street parking in Portland.“
“Great experience all around! The house pho is so flavorful and generously sized that I’m happily full of pho tonight and looking forward to having a full bowl for lunch tomorrow. The Thai dumplings are hearty and savory and my partner enjoyed his stir fry dish, as well. There was a big storm a few days ago and lots of folks are still without power, and the restaurant was hopping with takeout and dine in customers. The one-person serving crew did an outstanding job of taking care of everyone and everything and has such a lovely and welcoming presence. They are a gem, for sure. We’ll be back!“
“We tried this for the first time last night. I was VERY impressed. First, the chef came out of the kitchen to thank us for our order when we picked it up. Second, it was the BEST chicken pad Thai I’ve had in a long time! I got the crispy veggie rolls as well and they were amazing. I am a forever customer of Asian Combo. 10 out of 10 stars!“
“I've been to Thailand and I've tried many Thai restaurants in and around New England. The food coming out of this kitchen is excellent! My personal favorite is their Pad Se Ewe, but the Pad Thai is also very good. If you're in downtown Portland and looking for a Thai restaurant, look no further than this place. You won't be disappointed.“
“First time being here, and I went with a friend. Atmosphere was pretty cozy, I liked the color choice for the walls. It gave the restaurant warm/friendly vibes. They were able to seat us immediately, as we went at a wierd time [like late lunch very early supper time] so it wasn't busy at all. Our waitress was attentive without over doing it. The food was good, we did end up asking for thai chili flakes to make it a bit spicier. But it was still flavorful without it. Averaged about $25-30 per person. The only bad thing I will say is that I was disappointed with the Strawberry milk tea. I could tell they used a Strawberry syrup for it and it was a bit too sweet for what I was expecting. Still good, just not what was expected.Parking: They have signs indicating for ruby Thailand customers only. It's a small parking lot, but it has enough space.“
“The service was average the food was tasty, but it felt like the entrees where ingredients put together rather a cohesive dish. The apps were great though! I will return to see if I just happened to pick the wrong entrees or go at a very busy time.“
“The food was good. The service was slow, considering we were the first customers. We ate inside. It's a small place in town that's in an old building, so i didn't expect more than what i experienced. I would definitely go back. It's good for what it is.“
“The wings hold their own to anything in Portland, seriously so good. Atmosphere is so relaxing, and the TV's play clips of Thai street food being made which absolutely rules. Service is also awesome, super efficient and more than friendly. Get the crunchy fried chicken with garlic glaze, it's bananas.“
“Prime location in the heart of Biddeford. I've ordered take out and have dined in. Both excellent options- service is consistently great& so is the food! The drink selection is good & they have a good list of house cocktails. The restaurant is warm and inviting with dining room and bar seating. Service is fast and efficient. I recommend the Thai ME fried rice, pad thai, duck soup, scallion pancakes & the lo main. The fresh spring rolls are the best around town! Definitely something special about that sauce. We will be back- it's always a pleasure!“
“We were here at Dok Mali's soft opening - we loved the food but the restaurant had a long way to go to be one of our favorites. I'm very happy to say that Dok Mali is a fantastic restaurant- the food is amazing...so pretty, tasty, and at a very reasonable price too. We started with one of the specials - scallion pancakes - they were perfectly cooked and served with chili oil. So good! The spicy lemongrass margaritas were tasty but we wished the lemongrass was a bit stronger, and with more spice. Everyone loved their entrees. I don't normally order pad Thai because it can be a bit boring, but the the Mali pad Thai was the best pad Thai I've had...the sauce was rich and spice (level 3 of 5) was just right - hot but not blotting out all other flavors. The Khao Soi (curry noodle soup) was a revelation - tender and tasty chicken on the bone, ramen style noodles, crisp vegetables, and an amazing curry broth that was just-right spicy. When our friends return in a few months, they definitely want to have another lunch here...being a regular, whether local or out of state, means that we'll have some of the tastiest Thai food anywhere!“
“Our friends have eaten at Thai Taste for several years and suggested we join them for an and-of-year dinner. At this time of year, in the dark, it is easy to miss the storefront because it is not lit, with only a fluorescent "open" sign in the front window. We learned that the restaurant had been a bustling establishment before COVID, with most of their business now devoted to take out. When we arrived, there were very few patrons seated for dinner. Not being in any hurry, the slow pace of the evening suited us well. Thai Taste's menu is voluminous, with an offering of a range of southeast Asian dishes which, of course, only one can be chosen by anyone. Crab Rangoon and Scallion Pancake began our meal, while our friends had their Steamed Butterflies (dumplings). All of these were well prepared and very tasty, setting high standards for our entrees. My order of Tamarind Shrimp was good, although the tamarind was subdued and the 3-star heat was mild. Our Shrimp-love-Scallop was savory and also well prepared, making the evening meal very enjoyable. The family that owns Thai Taste also runs other Thai establishments in the Portland area, of which we also have frequented in the past. Of all of these, we now find that Thai Taste presents the most authentic and savory cuisine. Although the building is in South Portland, several minutes drive out of the downtown area, Thai Taste will become our go-to southeast Asian restaurant in the future.“
“Was surprised to see this location under new ownership and new direction. We tried it and it was very good!I had the Chicken Pho and she had the Vermicelli Bowl with egg roll. Both meals were excellent! The drinks were cold and service was top notch!Highly recommend trying this restaurant!“
“We tried this place for the first time yesterday. Very simple and clean, takeout only at this time. Super friendly service! The food is great, and beware they are generous with the spice. We love spicy dishes and ordered level 3 for the green curry and pad see ew, and it was delicious but spicy enough to need to take breaks. ?️ I'll probably go with level 2 next time. The tempura was a large portion and well cooked, accompanied by lots of sauces. Steam buns were perfectly cooked, tender chewy and delicious.Great food, simple vibe, and pleasant service - we will definitely be back!“
“This is the best Thai I have had in this area. Very fresh and the seasoning is spot on ! It can be prepared mild to spicy! The curry is very authentic in flavor. I have tried many dishes here and found they all seem to carry the best aromatic smells and flavors . The staff seem friendly when I pick up orders to go ! When ordering delivery it takes forever! So patience must be your strong suit when wanting delivery. I haven't eaten inside so don't know the Ambiance. But really enjoy the food.“
“Overall, the foods were good, except I got one wrong ordered. Was ordered one large steam rice, but when I got home, it was a plain white noodle. Why will I be ordering plain noodles?? Another thing, red curry is looking like a yellow curry, somehow. Drunken noodles were delicious. Fried rice was not bad at all. Beef salad is kinda too sweet for me. Enough spiciness of everything, just the way I requested.“
“We just bought quite a few different items. As always everything was great with one exception. Fried tofu was not crispy because the plastic container that held it ended up steaming the tofu making it soggy. A different container with holes to escape the steam would help.“
