Coffee and pastries. Not a lot of seating. Could use a menu upgrade.

Fun to go while @ the park. Limited menu but perfect for a light lunch or snack.

Two of us went here on Saturday morning, (Market Day) to grab a coffee and egg sandwich. Trying to simplify things, since we were there shopping anyway. Turns out, this was not simple. From the time I ordered our sandwiches, til the time I had them in hand, was over 45 minutes. Just two people working behind the counter. One young woman SLOWLY handling the coffee orders and the cash register. The young man was alone with an archaic oven and God knows what else was back there...trying to manage orders for dozens of people. The place has such potential...but the service is painfully slow. I know space is limited, this is an historic building (so much charm!) but we won't go here again unless it's for coffee only. Will never order food here again. I could have driven over the bridge to the Toast Bar and back with time to spare compared to this wait. Kudos to the cook, though. He never lost his cool.

Beautiful castle-themed little building and a nice patio, but when we went during a visit to the Farmers Market, they hardly had any pastries to choose from (no doubt due to the market visitors, even though it was fairly early), and what they did have wasn't that appealing. We split a muffin, and it was okay, but nothing compared to nearby bakeries.

Staff is nice, outdoor seating is very pleasant. Interior is dark and dungeony, counter is too high, pastry selection is lacking and not super fresh looking. The interior needs a makeover and better lighting, along with more appetizing baked goods. So much potential!

As my trainer at work told me before giving me some harsh critiques - those who give critical feedback do it because they see potential and know you can do better. That's how I feel about TIQA Cafe & Bakery. I went there on a sunny Saturday morning in September while the farmer's market was taking place. I had a coupon for free coffee that I received in the mail (woohoo!). The location and outdoor area/space could not be more lovely, plus it looks like a CASTLE! It has all of the trappings to be a magical space to hang out. Upon entering, the magic died. The charm of the castle and historical space was overtaken by multiple large vending machines that dwarf the already smallish interior space. It felt as though you had to search for the charm inside. I did love that they have bocce and lots of games for you to play outside, and I think one's best bet for enjoying this place is sitting out on the deck or even in the grass adjacent. But perhaps worse than the missed opportunity to keep this magical space magical, was the coffee. I read in other reviews that it is CBD which I love, but the self-serve drip coffee tasted like water with a little coffee flavoring. Then I watched one of the younger employees behind the counter making a sandwich using his bare hands in the bin of diced tomatoes and the germ-a-phobe in me couldn't help but think about fingernail hygiene getting in all that diced tomato juice (yuk!!!) and wonder why he wasn't wearing gloves. This place has so much promise but it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Disorganized and overwhelmed staff; had to wait until (some of) the order was complete only to be told they were out of some menu items. That information would have been better shared at the time the order was placed. The bottled water was great though.

Food looked okay. Didn't order got a soda for $2.75! All I wanted was a hotdog or a burger and chips. Come on fancy food at Deering Oaks Park? No wonder no one was there. That isn't going to last long.
