“Decent sushi. A lot of their sushi is "Big Mac" sushi where they cover it in multiple sauces. Also Spicy Tuna is ground up tuna, mixed with spicy sauce. Taste is okay, but it's mushy. They should visit some of the local sushi restaurants, because a few small changes would really up their sushi game.“
“I love this place! The food is delicious and the family who owns it is very kind. When I asked my server for gluten-free soy sauce, she alerted me to the fact that I had accidentally ordered a dish with wheat in it, remaking it for me immediately. “Modern, contemporary spot with nice set up.. food was good but nothing extravagant esp considering the prices.. ended up pay $70 for just myself (for dinner)!Wanted to like the place more but besides the lobster buns appetizer, everything else was average/ good but nothing spectacular, including the ramen.Lobster buns were very good though a bit overwhelming with truffle oil, which I typically enjoy and still did but I think less would help not overpower the other ingredients.“
“Quick update: I highly recommend Miyake as a place to stop in for lunch, too! It's a quieter vibe than dinner, so perfect for grabbing a seat at the sushi bar. There are bento box lunch specials and chef's choice sushi and sashimi, or you can order rolls from the lunch menu; I had a wonderful red snapper ceviche roll and of course, their wonderful miso soup!“

Amaaaaazingly fresh fish (even in the winter), great prices, fabulous diversity in sake and Japanese whisky, knowledgeable servers, and brilliant outdoor patio. Shout out to Gabby, server extraordinaire, who goes the extra mile for customer service while being unpretentious and informative. She's been here through two owners and 10 years - this place treats their folks well, it seems! And - ummmm - can we talk about the heated bidet situation in the bathroom?! “Small cozy spot with delicious food. We had the pork belly ramen, highly recommend. Pork was very flavorful, and definitely get the side of spicy sauce if you like spicy. A pretty large portion too for a reasonable price. We'll be going back to try the poke bowls, which are all customizable with a pretty good selection of veggies and toppings.Only downside is if you're allergic/not a fan of seafood there was not a lot of options, tofu or pork only.“
“Love this new location. This is my second time at Benkay and it was another great experience. We enjoyed sitting at the sushi bar and watching rolls be made while we enjoyed our delicious seaweed salads and edamame appetizers. While the nigiri and rolls were delicious, the Japanese ice cream sandwich was something new that I absolutely loved. The mochi ice cream was another great option, hot green tea can warm you up on a cold night, and a great selection of bar drinks can accommodate anyone's preferences. I loved that they offer specials completely different from their menu offerings as well. The service was friendly and the restaurant quiet and enjoyable.“
“This place is great. The interior is amazing. Given it's in a strip mall, total surprise. And the food is as good as any Japanese i have had. Very pleasantly surprised at how good it is. Would be a top restaurant in a big city, let alone South Portland. The staff was also top level - they kinda tag team the process, so never felt ignored etc. If you like sushi etc, it's as good as it gets.“
“Best Chinese food I've ever had. The place is always very clean, staff are wonderful, and the food comes fast. I love that all the food has its its own flavor. I usually don't like Chinese because I feel it all tastes the same, cooked in the same grease but this restaurant is totally different! I don't know what they use to cook the food in but it always tastes amazing and it's never too greasy. I love the fried shrimp with the coconut sauce! It's always perfectly crisp even with take out. The attention to detail and perfectly cooked food really makes this place stand out. “First time at Mr. Tuna stopped in for lunch. Customer service was excellent the variety of entrees were plentiful. The food was fresh and delicious. The Miso Soup was good not too salty. The sushi was a little on the small side compared to other sushi places in town but delicious.Regarding the ambiance the restaurant is simple and shares space with another restaurant. If you’re wanting good food in a simple dining space Mr. Tuna is definitely a great choice!!“

“Came here because many sushi places barely give you any fish for the price they charge. Tokyo corrects this by giving you large rolls for the price with an actual serving of FISH. Ramen was fantastic too! Wife had a cocktail that was also great and reasonably priced! I’ll continue coming if they continue their ways and don’t get greedy like many others.“

“We had lunch here. Food was great! The scallop small plate was well seasoned and delicious! Sushi was also good. The miso soup tasted a little interesting but good.They are open for dine-in but stated we had to order at the counter than eat at the table without waiter. I saw only one person working and we were only ones there. She was kind enough to come by and take our orders at the table.“

“I ordered three rolls, a classic California, beef tataki, and the dynamite roll.Placed my takeout order in person, and it was ready quickly within 10-15 minutes. Any modifications I requested were adhered to, and the rolls themselves taste fresh, and really good. Can’t wait to try more!“
