“Last time I was home in the area, got a seafood platter takeout for my husband- he thoroughly enjoyed it-I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl. Even though the food is good, I’ll always visit this little chowder house when I’m in the area; it reminds me of beach trips with my gram and all the fun we used to have; this chowder house holds a lot of memories for a lot of people; come for the food and come back with your rose colored glasses, remember good times and loved ones and feel the salt on your skin and the sand in your shoes and just enjoy being in the moment while remembering the past-“
“The food here is phenomenal. I got the Greek omelette and it was the best omelette I've had in my entire life. So much flavor and it was so big I was able to take half home for dinner and throw it in the air fryer. Can't get over the flavors in this! Also shared French toast which was also amazing. Highly recommend! The waitress Tracy was super friendly and attentive and is great at what she does. The ambiance was nice, tucked away and very cute and cozy but definitely not small. I will be going back!“
“Very good. Wells Maine in winter means many closed restaurants. This bar and grille area s definitely a locals place. We started with an order of Wagyu sliders, that were very very good. They had bacon, melted cheese and mayo on them each and came with three in the order. Then we split the grilled chicken salad, which was a basic fresh mixed green salad with a few tomatoes, a few cucumber slices, some croutons, and very small amount of shredded cheese. Dressings tasted like they were out of a bottle, but they were good. We especially liked the waitress. No nonsense and great service. We could also see what seemed to be the manager, replenishing tables, cleaning up, and helping out wherever needed. Well, it wasn't exactly fine dining, we really did like the place. I believe their lobster roll would have been great, but we've already eaten enough lobster this week. I'd go back there.“
“Went there later in the evening shortly before closing. Great conversation with the manager who welcomed us to the area and gave us great information. My wife and I both got blizzards and they did NOT skimp on candy ingredients ! Great way to end our first night in Maine.“
“Never in the history of ever have I given a perfect score. And I was torn. The desire to sing the praises of this hidden gem...and the desire to keep it to myself. Wells has been hiding this little cafe... and Nick and everyone here is the epitome of what I look for in a breakfast experience. The look, feel, and taste of eating in someone's farmhouse. Amazing atmosphere, excellent service, and the food was unexpectedly on par with anywhere I've had breakfast. Ever. We tried so many things. Simple pancakes, blueberry stuffed French toast, to the uncommon but delicious Monte Cristo. The star of the morning was impossible to pick. I had the fried goat cheese salad as a side, and ended up ordering a full size one. The Monte Cristo...often avoided by most places was and will always be my favorite breakfast...was amazing here. Ample but not huge....it more than delivered on flavor. Playful, fresh, and peefect for any foodie. As did the elderberry lemonade. Right down to the coffee....the care and thought was evident. Clean, warm, inviting, a new favorite spot. If you are visiting the area...missing this place would be criminal. Thank you to everyone here for the amazing food and experience.“
