“What a great spot! Cannot wait to check it out this summer and enjoy their outdoor space. We caught the tail end of their winter menu and I'm so glad we did! The jalapeno margarita was spot on.I also had the soup of the day, a mushroom cheddar, and the Italian grinder salad. Both exceptional. My husband had the burger and I was a bit jealous but was thankful to have a few bites.“
“This place is hopping! Be prepared to wait. Friendly service. Big portions. Recommend the special Downeaster Benedict though a bit on the salty side. Didn't care for the potatoes. Ask for hot and crispy so that they get to you hot and not mushy.“
“Very good. Wells Maine in winter means many closed restaurants. This bar and grille area s definitely a locals place. We started with an order of Wagyu sliders, that were very very good. They had bacon, melted cheese and mayo on them each and came with three in the order. Then we split the grilled chicken salad, which was a basic fresh mixed green salad with a few tomatoes, a few cucumber slices, some croutons, and very small amount of shredded cheese. Dressings tasted like they were out of a bottle, but they were good. We especially liked the waitress. No nonsense and great service. We could also see what seemed to be the manager, replenishing tables, cleaning up, and helping out wherever needed. Well, it wasn't exactly fine dining, we really did like the place. I believe their lobster roll would have been great, but we've already eaten enough lobster this week. I'd go back there.“
“We are staying in the area and every one we asked said this is the place to try I'll tell you it did not disappoint great atmosphere Lively, our waitress was quick friendly and on top of everything, coconut shrimp appetizer was perfect our drinks came quickly, I got the surf and turf broiled haddock and steak usually for a smaller piece of steak restaurants overcook them this was cooked a perfect medium with a very decent size baked haddock food was just delicious, real French fries. Eat until I just couldn't anymore.“
“I just had a wonderful meal with excellent attentive service on the waterfront. The Clam Chowder was great about 80% clams and maybe 20% potatoes with a nice not to heavy cream sauce. The lobster was also wonderfully tender and juicy.Finished the meal off with homemade blueberry crisp with a scoop of ice cream.A very enjoyable place with a no frills atmosphere that I could tell by the conversation around me is a favorite of the locals“
“We visit the York Beach area one to two times a year and have eaten at The England House many times. The food and service are always excellent. This visit to Maine we visited two times. The steak bomb special and the fish dinner were amazing.“
“Stopped by after seeing the sign for soup. The beef and barley soup was awesome and the rolls were amazing. The salad bar had great options and Sherri our waitress was very nice and attentive. The lite bits options were perfect size for us after eating our weight in soup and salad. Def a place I will be adding to my stops list when we are in Maine“
“Visiting Kennebunkport for the first time so picking a restaurant was based on reviews and we were so happy we found this place as it did not disappoint. From the beginning to the end the experience was delightful. My girlfriends and I felt like we hit the jackpot. Our server Amanda was amazing. The food presentation was beautiful, not to mention delicious. The location was tucked down a road and you will not be disappointed with the views. This is a must for anyone visiting Kennebunkport.“
“We ate at the Front Yard Saturday 3/23/24, our meals and service was excellent. The Octopus we had for an appetizer was tender and so delicious. Our meals were delicious also, I had the Lobster and Shrimp with papperdelli ale vodka and my wife had the seafood baulabaise. Jenni was our waitress and she was awesome.“
“My husband and I ordered a lobster roll and also got two lobsters (buy one, get one free, so a total of two). The food was incredibly delicious! I believe their lobster roll surpasses any I've had elsewhere, and their lobsters were also exceptionally fresh. If you order lobsters, be prepared for a bit of a wait (approximately 20 minutes), during which you can explore the nearby docks and bridges, which offer beautiful views. You might also consider ordering the lobster roll and lobsters separately, and enjoy the lobster roll while waiting for the lobsters. The only drawback (though not the restaurant's fault, of course) is that you'll need to find outdoor seating, so if it's a busy time, windy, or raining (as it was when we went), it might be a bit challenging for eating (we saw a lady requesting them to pack her items in a sealed box rather than an open paper box, which might be a good idea), so plan accordingly!“
“There are quite a few " smart casual" dining options in Ogunquit and I cannot claim to have tried them all, but , of those I have sampled That Place stands out. It is a small town average floor plan that lends an air of intimacy to a roomy vibe. The service is highly trained and knowledgeable but without being pretentious. As for the menu, it is large enough for choice but simple enough to suggest specificity and care for each dish. Escargots seem to be out of favor these days but here they immediately caught my attention and did not disappoint! Neither did the generous and perfectly cooked pork chop. Utterly delicious! My Hendricks martini arrived with a slice of cucumber as garnish- a stroke of genius- and has since become my sine qua non ( if you can persuade the bar tender to supply the cucumber!) Go on spoil yourself!! You'll thank me afterwards.“
“Our food was great as chef perfectly accommodated my request for light garlic in the shrimp scampi. My wife loved her stuffed haddock. These were part of the Sunday special: good sized entree and blueberry pie for $18 which is cheap for just the entree alone. Nice decor and our server Shannon was fantastic. We'll be back!“
“After having to leave another restaurant in Kennebunkport due to discrimination, we were able to eat at the Boathouse. Everyone was extremely accommodating, and everything on the menu was incredible. I'll be thinking about the shrimp and scallop fried rice for a long long time.“
“The food was delicious. Despite being shorthanded the night of our visit, this restaurant delivered what they promised. Pizza was five-star, fresh fish prepared perfectly, meat balls and sauce like Mama used to make. A refreshing dining experience in Ogunquit. Honest and attentive service. We will be back to this place. Go and give it a try. Share a bottle of wine and some really good, fresh food.“
“We happened upon them only an hour before they were closing for the season. Great people, great service, and great comfort food. My husband had the clam chowder and haddock platter and loved it. I had the shrimp sandwich with fries and ate pretty much every bit. Tasty!“
“Such a fun spot for a cocktail. You get to witness the unique tide change, sit on the bow in the sun or underneath at the bar.I didn’t learn anything about the schooner, but it would be cool to have the story set up somewhere (maybe it is). It’s not as busy as some of the others spots, it feels a little exclusive. I think people don’t know how to get out to it.There’s a food truck set up outside, that you can bring onboard as well.“
“Last time I was home in the area, got a seafood platter takeout for my husband- he thoroughly enjoyed it-I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl. Even though the food is good, I’ll always visit this little chowder house when I’m in the area; it reminds me of beach trips with my gram and all the fun we used to have; this chowder house holds a lot of memories for a lot of people; come for the food and come back with your rose colored glasses, remember good times and loved ones and feel the salt on your skin and the sand in your shoes and just enjoy being in the moment while remembering the past-“
