“The name might seem odd for a Thai spot but please, please do yourself a favor and come here. This is probably the best Thai I’ve ever had, me and my friend were both stopping every few bites to go “this is unbelievable”.Add to that: the service was exceptional, so friendly, so welcoming, and the prices/portions are really solid. Highest recommendation.“
“I live in Portland but happened to be in Scarborough for a late appointment so I picked up takeout on my way home. I ordered 2 rolls - both which were delicious - and edamame. Because of the size of the rolIs I was able to have dinner for 2 nights in a row! I have eaten sushi from MANY different places (I also lived in the Boston area for many years) and this was definitely one of the best. Fish was very fresh and there was a generous amount in each roll. The restaurant is not a sit down place but would highly recommend for takeout. This is my first Google review so the fact I took the time to do it might tell you something?“
“One of the best sushi restaurants in Portland Maine! Decided to check this place out with my husband during our visit and thoroughly enjoyed their sushi amongst all other food :) server was also very generous and made our date night special. We were also sitting by the sushi counter, which was entertaining to watch the chefs in action!Overall, would definitely come back here again and try some of their other menu items during our next visit in town.“
“Always reliable, one of the best ? sushi places in Portland. The modern airy dining room is comfortable. Not a bargain, but good value for what you will spend.I go back regularly and this continues to be one of the best sushi ? places in town. Try the boiled scallop maki, you won't regret it! (Oct 2023)“
“We've been going for years. The restaurant itself isn't the most comfortable but the Ramen is amazing. I think it's priced a little high but everything is nowadays. The service is just Ok, but the food is worth it. The cocktails are really good but again, just a little pricey.“
“Decent sushi. A lot of their sushi is "Big Mac" sushi where they cover it in multiple sauces. Also Spicy Tuna is ground up tuna, mixed with spicy sauce. Taste is okay, but it's mushy. They should visit some of the local sushi restaurants, because a few small changes would really up their sushi game.“
“This is a very high quality sushi bar and restaurant with both traditional as well as bar seating and tables. The quality of the sushi and sashimi was excellent. Sorry no photos but it was too delicious to stop = this is a GREAT Japanese place. Its a 5.5 in my book. I will be back very soon! Thank you.“
“First time at Mr. Tuna stopped in for lunch. Customer service was excellent the variety of entrees were plentiful. The food was fresh and delicious. The Miso Soup was good not too salty. The sushi was a little on the small side compared to other sushi places in town but delicious.Regarding the ambiance the restaurant is simple and shares space with another restaurant. If you’re wanting good food in a simple dining space Mr. Tuna is definitely a great choice!!“
“Excellent! Fresh, great flavor combinations and sauces, really enjoyed all the textures in my bowl as well. I'd definitely have poke more often and will have to make another visit before I leave! Cute, modern decor with some asian snacks as well. Super cute spot.“
“We were a bit hesitant at first when we sat down at the sushi bar. However, we had an excellent experience! The sushi was fresh and beautifully served. The service was good and the atmosphere good. The only problem was the chairs at the sushi bar were too low for me. They recognize this and have new chairs on the way. We will be back!“
“Just tried this place for the first time. I really enjoyed the pumpkin spring roll, shumai, and dumplings. I am very much looking forward to trying more of their sushi offerings! The pad Thai disappointed me; it was unlike any pad Thai that I'd ever had and I won't get it here again. The noodles were thin like angel hair, the sauce more like a red sauce, and mushrooms. Very different taste and texture than from other places. It's more like a different dish entirely. Not bad, but not what I had hoped for.Lots of things in their menu. Convenient location.“
“We had lunch here. Food was great! The scallop small plate was well seasoned and delicious! Sushi was also good. The miso soup tasted a little interesting but good. They are open for dine-in but stated we had to order at the counter than eat at the table without waiter. I saw only one person working and we were only ones there. She was kind enough to come by and take our orders at the table.“
“First timer. Great menu selection. Great variety. The value is definitely there. We will be back for sure.Kid-friendliness: It's a family restaurant for sure. We saw kids of all ages while we were there. They have a great Hibachi area ?“
“Small cozy spot with delicious food. We had the pork belly ramen, highly recommend. Pork was very flavorful, and definitely get the side of spicy sauce if you like spicy. A pretty large portion too for a reasonable price. We'll be going back to try the poke bowls, which are all customizable with a pretty good selection of veggies and toppings.Only downside is if you're allergic/not a fan of seafood there was not a lot of options, tofu or pork only.“
