“The only club on base at Fort Custer for soldiers to unwind after a long day. Custer's First Stand has been closed for renovations since November. The electrical job had been completed since then, but they do not have a new opening date. Instead they have chosen to demolish the facility and build a new one in its place. Bids have not been approved yet as far as I know. It looks like this bar will be permanently closed for at least another year.”

“I really enjoy the pulled BBQ pork with a side of greens and Mac n cheese. I've never had greens before trying theirs an I'm addicted. Very flavorful with bacon, soft and at times a little salty. The pork is always drenched in their BBQ which I absolutely love. I always ask for my bread on the side so I can use to dip & scoop the meat. Service is always friendly, the two woman that works there are always so sweet and busting their butt with making plates and taking orders.”

“I can't say enough good things about Soil Friends. Your fun changes with the season. You'll find tacos, cider and lots of other treats. You can enjoy them around the fire, while taking to a new friend. You can get your Halloween pumpkins and Christmas trees. You have access to the family farm and it's animals. The goats are so fun! You can walk the beautiful property, highly recommended around fall. You can even book a private party. My favorite season to visit is summer, for the fresh flowers. You can buy a precut bouquet or cut them yourself. The family is the sweetest and happy to help. I highly recommend a visit.”

“This place is our favorite breakfast choice! Great food, terrific, friendly personal service, good portion size and reasonably priced. Family owned and operated. Hubby only gets the hotcakes which he declares are the best he’s ever tasted. I’ve tried darn near everything on the breakfast menu and have always loved the food. No bad choices here. Omelettes are huge and cooked to perfection, biscuits & gravy is spectacular, hash browns always delicious and never too greasy. We highly recommend South Side Grubz!”

“Steve's Pizza is THE best pizza in Battle Creek/Pennfield area. The Hawaiian pizza is so amazing, the seasonings they use on the breadstick pizza is by far the best, and all the cheese on each pizza is so delicious. Love this place and I feel we have missed out for the last year we have lived here trying so many other pizza places and nothing coming close. Get to Steve's Pizza!!”

“Absolutely wonderful food/smoothies and atmosphere here. Very adequate pricing. I love coming in and smelling whatever they're making. Very friendly employees who make you feel welcome, and will have answers to any and all questions you have. While on my most recent visit, the employee heading the cashier gave some free fruit to the kids waiting in the dining room for their to-go order. Very thoughtful, I will definitely be coming back and telling friends. :)”

“We just happened to stop by the Chicken House because we were hungry and in the area. We are from Albion. And before I say anything else, I have to say that we will be back for sure!!The chicken sandwiches are AMAZING!!! I got the mother clucker and my husband got the Nashville hot. Soooooo good!!!The owners are really cool too!!Don’t drive by without trying their food! If it wasn’t winter, we would have tried the ice cream and sundae selection. “We called with specific instructions and the level of customer service in making sure that every detail was exactly as we wanted for our mom's birthday cake was fantastic! She was ecstatic as this was the most beautiful birthday cake! It was perfect in everyway and simply mouth watering with the raspberry filling and buttercream icing. Definitely wedding cake quality. Hands down the best choice! We also included some chocolate cupcakes which were also delectable. We highly recommend Continental Pastries for any occasion they will take care of you. ❤️”
