“Definitely an old school bakery feel. I have no complaints with how I’ve personally been treated - I’ve only had very polite and nice experiences. Coffee has always been hot for me and I was even offered more bagels because it was slow today! I usually get bagels and cream cheese once a week in the mornings and have never had an issue, they are very delicious… but duh, it’s a bagel! It’s a go-to bagel place for me and a must try if you’re in the neighborhood. So glad I started coming here.“

“I cannot believe it took me so long to discover this not-so-hidden jewel, which is only minutes away from my home. My husband and I ditched our normal Saturday brunch to drop in on Detroit Sip. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the products. Detroit Sip's vibe is like a warm, neighborly hug. The decor is whimsical and inviting. My caramel latte and cheese Danish were very goodMy husband also enjoyed his dark roast and muffin. We'll be back, in fact I tried to return the following Tuesday morning. Guess I should have paid attention to the hours listed.“

“The first callout I have to make is I absolutely LOVE the diversity of choices in this menu. They have so much more unique options than your standard coffee shop and all of them are so different. Their menu represents so many countries and regions, including Moroccan, Hong Kong, Brazilian, Spanish, Viennese, Vietnamese, Korean, Thai, Japanese, Indian, Sudanese, etc. This is a place that you can just keep coming back to and try completely different flavors and styles of coffee and tea with every visit and I really appreciate that. They also have small snack options, with my favorite being the Nutella taiayaki. This was a pleasant surprise for me since I'm generally not the biggest fan of classic red bean taiyaki. I ended up ordering the Brazilian style latte and my girlfriend got the London fog. We both loved our drinks and would definitely return to try others. As for the space, it's certainly not what I expected but I really liked the concept. Meillie Coffee is just one of a few vendors who all share a really large space (with TONS of seating). They also have sandwiches and ice cream available at the other vendors, so you can probably come here in the morning and end up spending enough time working until you want lunch from the other vendor as well.“

“Never disappointed when visiting my favorite tearoom, The Fern. The owner, Theresa, is a kind, caring host who takes her time to match guests to the perfect tea. Whether you’re looking for hot or cold tea, The Fern has one that’s bound to make your tastebuds dance! Additionally, the place is cozy and relaxing, which makes it the perfect place to read a book, complete a puzzle, or chat with a friend.“

“Norman was the kindest when I stumbled upon his Cafe while in Troy! Was here for work and saw the awesome reviews so decided to check it out. While there, he was so sweet to offer the rest of my work crew (who was working out in the cold, rain that night) a cannister of coffee for everyone! Thank you so much, Norman! Amazing coffee and service! :)“

“We tried this bakery/cafe and the food was wonderful. I had a combo with chicken salad and slightly spicy tomato basil soup on the best grain bread and a delightful cinnamon oatmeal cookie. I could eat this every day and not get tired of it. I'll be in there every time I'm in the area to try different things, but I'm sure most of the time it will be chicken salad and tomato basil. Yum yum and yum!“

“Five15 is the best drag bar/restaurant in metro Detroit. Ask for Cookie or Brian to be your server, they are exceptional. If you are a fan of the TV show RuPaul's Drag Race, this is the place to go in metro Detroit. They book many of the drag queen contestants to perform in their Brunch shows.Parking: Parking in Royal Oak is free on Sundays and holidays. On all other days you have to pay from 11am-midnight. I'd recommend the Parking garages, as they let you park for the first two hours for free before having to pay.“

“I had been going to Birmingham Roast for years before Royal Oak Roast opened, and it is just as amazing as the original. Drinks are incredible (though the “Joy” drinks are pretty sweet, I always order half sweet), the breakfast burrito is a must try, as is the açaí bowl. They constantly have new “seasonal” menu items which is great for regulars to get something new to try. This will forever be my favorite coffee shop in the metro Detroit area!!“

“Omg the reviews do not do this place justice!!! Let me start off with the warm greetings they give when you walk in. So nice. Then the amazing smells that hit you as soon as you walk in. Fantastic! I got the lemon bar, the chocolate chip cookie, a breakfast sandwich and a kale salad with chicken. The lemon bar was so delicious, with a perfect crust, and creamy inside, I ate the whole thing while waiting for my sandwich. The cookie was great as well. The sandwich which they told me was put on bread they bake in house was absolutely delicious. Great crunch, eggs and the other ingredients inside tasted so yummy. The salad tastes fresh and not soggy. The chicken is served cold, but still really good with no weird after taste. Everything was a 10/10 I totally recommend this spot if you’re downtown. I’m in school down here and the service was quick enough for me to order, and still make it with plenty of time to get back to class. I will definitely be back daily. I’m praying I get my clinical’s close by so I can come back after this class term.“

“Rating is based on the food. The food is pretty good. Sometimes the potatoes are undercooked. I do miss the old owner and old building... the new decor/paint/flooring is so bland. It was adorable before, now it looks like a caucasian mom's "live laugh love" decorated kitchen. The prices have definitely gone up over the years, but that's inflation. Overall, it's a nice spot to bring family and friends, but I really cannot see the vision with the decor and grey color scheme. It's really disappointing!“

“Stopped by for a quick dinner on a Tuesday night. The place wasn't busy, so the staff was able to give me plenty of attention. These are down-to-earth folks; easy to talk to and very friendly. The food was fantastic! I had the sliders and fries, and not only did the food taste good, but it was presented in a subtly unique way. I highly recommend The Alley Cat!“

“Great sandwiches, fresh salad, sad GFS ranch. That’s the only negative, though. Everything was delivered fresh and on time through EZ Cater. I love that they use Boar’s Head meats and cheeses and their prices are very fair. If they upgrade their dressings, I’ll give them 5 stars! Very friendly, great for both small and large groups. Will order again.“

“Several friends recommended this caffe! I stopped in before 8 a.m. and was serviced immediately! The interior has a warm feel- I wanted a caramel macchiato, but they were out of caramel, so I tried the cinnamon honey option. The barista was very pleasant and helpful. “Friendly staff and one of the few coffee places near the Henry Ford main campus. Prefer a simple cup of black coffee when the coffee is quality. Usually request extra coffee when doing a pour over. Usually I avoid the specialty flavored coffees: cherry, vanilla, or hazelnut. I can do a light or dark roast. Flavored coffee is not my cup of tea, as the mixed analogy goes.“

“Came here for brunch with a group of friends and we had a great time. I ordered the blueberry Ricotta pancakes with lemon curd, potatoes, jalapeno polenta, and Earl Grey tea. The pancakes were so delicious, you didn't even need syrup. The potatoes were cooked well, but could have used more seasoning. The polenta was creamy and flavorful. My tea was enjoyable and tasted like high quality Earl Grey. The only negative is the customer service could have been better. The waiters weren't very attentive or personable. We found ourselves having to flag them down or get up and find a staff person if we wanted something. Could have just been an off day though. Totally coming back. This is an awesome place for brunch.“

“Pretty good. I enjoyed most of the cuts of meat, however was not a fan of any of the sides besides the salad (which was 10/10). Atmosphere is a bit chaotic, def have to be with a fun group or else I could see this being less enjoyable if you are looking for more of a lowkey/chill environment. Would come back-meat cuts and salad! ? ?“

“I haven’t been to this bakery in years, and I noticed that it seems to have adopted a more corporate style compared to its previous, more personal atmosphere. “I had the pleasure of discovering this charming café today: it was truly delightful! From the moment that I walked in, Madeline's kind hospitality made me feel right at home. Not only did she kindly offer to warm up my croissant, but she also went the extra mile to check that it was heated to the right temperature—perfection! Speaking of perfection, the pistachio croissant was simply divine. Paired with a heavenly chai latte that boasted just the right amount of spice, it was a match made in culinary heaven. Plus, the seamless access to reliable Wi-Fi made it the ideal spot for catching up on work or simply enjoying a moment of relaxation. With ample seating and the perfect ambiance, the café struck the perfect balance of cozy, yet vibrant. Parking was easy and convenient. “Le Crepe is always amazing! The staff are attentive and the crepes are fresh every time. They’re stuffed with tasty goodness and will have you wanting more; I haven’t ever had a crepe that I didn’t like from here. It’s far from where I live, but it’s worth the drive to support a small business!“
“Stopped by today for a quick sit down with a latte. I ordered a lavender oatmilk latte and a slice of pound cake warmed up. The latte was good, very flavorful and sweet. A bit foamy though. The pound cake was truthfully very bland, it was pretty dry and flavorless. The icing was even pretty hard to taste. The atmosphere is nice, plenty of greenery and unique nic-nacs. However, this cafe is advertised as a gallery as well. There were no paintings or photos or anything up which was disappointing. The service was great! The barista Kattia was super friendly and bubbly. She offered to warm up the pound cake, very sweet. I more than likely would only stop by again if I’m on this side of town specifically, but I probably wouldn’t make a trip for it.Parking: Parking right out front!“

“A dreamy escape for cold winter weekend days! I feel so psyched to have FINALLY sauntered into this little slice of heaven that has been on my collections list forever. I'm so excited about it that I'm having a time finding the right words to properly describe it. First, let me say that another patron sort of admonished me for taking pictures to share here. Apparently, she doesn't want newbies to come ruin her secret hideaway. Well, sorry, I must Yelp about this magical book-filled vintage-themed coffee house. Admittedly, I sort of understand why she wouldn't want lots of people piling in on a given Saturday or Sunday. The shop is very low-key, quiet, and highly vibrational. Loud unintentional folk would definitely ruin the vibe. But other like-minded souls would adore the place and hold its sacredness. Walking in, you're definitely not expecting what you'll find. I felt like little fairies took my hand and led me to a magical eutopia hidden in the woods. The lighting and decorations gave me Harry Potter vibes. There were butterflies, bikes, and other whimsical things flying through the air. No, literally, chairs and other decorations hanging from the ceiling! It's a book lover's paradise. There are tons of titles stacked and shelved all over. There are lots of trinkets and tchotchkes for sale. You can find unique gift items here or find something special for yourself. While touring the place, I looked around at the seating, there's a counter seating area and a few tables. However, I saw my sweet spot as soon as I walked in...a comfy colorful sofa in front of a faux fireplace with books and pillows surrounding it. There are lots of treats for purchase. I chose pound cake. It was so light and moist, I gobbled it down with an almond milk caramel latte. HEAVEN! I took a slice of lemon pound cake to-go. I can't wait to go back and visit. Next weekend looks good.“

“Right of the start, I have to say that I definitely prefer BiggBy coffe than any other brand coffee shop. For one, they are a local, Michigan company. Also, in my opinion the coffee and most of the specialty drinks taste better than the rest of the field. It is not as crowded and the wait for service is not as long as at Starbucks, for example.I like this particular location too. The staff is very efficient and the place is clean. My drink comes out fairly quickly and always tastes delicious.“
