“Oh my lord, all of the options looked scrumptious. We ordered a pistachio and chocolate croissant, Blackberry/Blueberry croissant, an Almond croissant, Smoked Salmon sandwich, Chicken sandwich and a loaf of Sourdough bread. Everything was excellent and very fresh. It's pricey but worth the splurge occasionally.“

“I finally had a chance to visit the highly regarded, Hudson Cafe. It was worth the wait...delicious food, outstanding service by Julian, and the atmosphere was full of good vibes. Can't wait to go back.Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options on the menu. The chef was able to remove dairy products from my menu selection to fit my preferences.Parking: Down the block from the restaurant, there is a huge parking garage. Plenty of spaces. $12 for 2 hours, on a weekday.Kid-friendliness: We took a group of elementary school children there, and it was perfect. The servers were patient and accommodating. Now, the food orders were huge, so most of the children had to go boxes. We saw other children there with families - babies, toddlers, teens, etc.“

“We ate at Basan Detroit on a Saturday evening (we were among the first to arrive at 4pm). Overall, we had a positive experience. The cocktails and food were creative, and intriguing to our taste buds. We highly recommend and will come back again to try other menu items. Below is additional details of our dining experience. Place: New and at a great location. It's next to the Little Caesars Arena. We were worried about parking because of the hockey games, but because we arrived early we were able to find an inexpensive metered street parking (otherwise park at the garage or use valet). The interior is spacious, modern and elegant. Chairs are comfortable and there's adequate lighting. Services: Excellent. Our server was friendly and the restaurant staff made sure our glasses of water are always refilled and empty dishes were quickly taken away. Cocktails: Although I am usually a whiskey or bourbon person, the cocktails are creative and full of flavor. Ube-B was an interesting mix of vodka, berry, and crispy taste of black sesame, but delicious. Food: Flavorful and fulfilling. We walked away feeling like we were in heaven. We enjoyed all of our choices and definitely will come back again. Quick Review of our Choices: Cocktails: Baba Baba Old Fashioned (whiskey) - great mix for an old fashioned, just how I would like to enjoy it. Night City (bourbon) - little stronger than old fashioned, but perfect. Ube-Be (vodka) - an interesting mix of vodka, berry, and crispy taste of black sesame, but delicious. Swimming Bird (shochu - Japanese liquor)- First time I had shochu. The mix reminds me of lime sprite. I would enjoy having it again. Buns: Lobster- I did not try it, but looks appetizing. Fried Oyster- creamy with kimchi heat. Love it. Chicken Kastu- delectable, especially with curry. My favorite. Small: Chicken Liver Mousse- milk bread was crispy, and the chicken liver mouse was delicious (a bit chilled, but yummy nonetheless). Our favorite, we would have it again. Tornado Potato- great spiral potato, kinda like crispy chips with sauce. Gyoza- savory lamb stuffed gyoza and sweet potato puree, delightful combo. Large: Udon - creamy dish of noodles with eggs, there's a heat aftertaste, mild but delicious. Kalbi Short Ribs- appetizing and flavorable. Dessert: Tofu Donuts- we were hesitating because we are not a fan of Tofu, but this dessert surprised us. Taste just like cinnamon sugar Donuts. Careful, allow it to cool down to enjoy it. Soft Serve- vanilla soft serve in ginger waffle, ginger candies, and marshmallow, an interesting combo, but delicious and sweet.“

“We just had the best service here! And great coffee, tea, and treats! We had went on a walk and decided to treat ourselves to a coffee. After our order was ready and we went pay we found that I lost my license and id along our walk. OYE! They were so kind and patient with us with our frantic responses. They had us take our order anyway and said that they 'trust us'. Luckily, we found my id and card and went back and paid. They were still super nice when I went back in. We will be back and tell everyone else they should go as well!! You just don't have that small town feel anywhere else around here.“

“Sometimes, I feel like I get wordy, or over share. I am really passionate when it comes to food. I love prepping it, preparing it & eating it. My favorite kinds of restaurants are those that do what I do, but better. Always love when I can just skip the first two steps & eat.Service. Top notch on multiple visits now.Slowly but surely calling this my go to spot for Breakfast in the area. ?Food is lick the plate or box it up & actually eat it later, rates somewhere above scrumptious.“

“I've been here probably a dozen times for coffee and snacks. Finally got a larger meal today. The bread (possibly sourdough) is amazing. Some of the best I've had In the city. And it was a generous chunk with my soup. Next time I'm getting a sandwich “

“Really great coffee and bagel was yum. The egg on the bagel and chive cream cheese were also delicious.I’m a little confused about the shopping sections in the corner of the restaurant but I guess that’s cool that they’re supporting local business. It just threw me off and it would’ve been nice if there were more tables… I had to sit outside. Luckily it was a nice enough day.“

“Great little cafe with fairly extensive food and drink menu, lots of character and charm. Quiet place to sip a latte, chat, read a book, do some work or just relax. I had the Taloola Nicoise $9 for a decent size but not huge salad very fresh and I really liked the tapenade in the dressing. Also a blueberry muffin fresh and tasty but a tad cold they should warm it up for customers. Two shot Americano came in a big mug and flavour was nice although not as intense as I would have liked. A bit smaller mug with two shots might have hit the mark for me but I like my coffee strong I'd go back for sure.“

“Rose latte and tomato basil soup are *cgef’s kiss* delicious. I recently visited three days in a row because of how yummy the food. It is a tiny restaurant and the prices are in the more expensive side (20% tip is factored in to the prices). There is a good amount of street “

“Rating is based on the food. The food is pretty good. Sometimes the potatoes are undercooked. I do miss the old owner and old building... the new decor/paint/flooring is so bland. It was adorable before, now it looks like a caucasian mom's "live laugh love" decorated kitchen. The prices have definitely gone up over the years, but that's inflation. Overall, it's a nice spot to bring family and friends, but I really cannot see the vision with the decor and grey color scheme. It's really disappointing!“

“Great sandwiches, fresh salad, sad GFS ranch. That’s the only negative, though. Everything was delivered fresh and on time through EZ Cater. I love that they use Boar’s Head meats and cheeses and their prices are very fair. If they upgrade their dressings, I’ll give them 5 stars! Very friendly, great for both small and large groups. Will order again.“

“Omg the reviews do not do this place justice!!! Let me start off with the warm greetings they give when you walk in. So nice. Then the amazing smells that hit you as soon as you walk in. Fantastic! I got the lemon bar, the chocolate chip cookie, a breakfast sandwich and a kale salad with chicken. The lemon bar was so delicious, with a perfect crust, and creamy inside, I ate the whole thing while waiting for my sandwich. The cookie was great as well. The sandwich which they told me was put on bread they bake in house was absolutely delicious. Great crunch, eggs and the other ingredients inside tasted so yummy. The salad tastes fresh and not soggy. The chicken is served cold, but still really good with no weird after taste. Everything was a 10/10 I totally recommend this spot if you’re downtown. I’m in school down here and the service was quick enough for me to order, and still make it with plenty of time to get back to class. I will definitely be back daily. I’m praying I get my clinical’s close by so I can come back after this class term.“

“Several friends recommended this caffe! I stopped in before 8 a.m. and was serviced immediately! The interior has a warm feel- I wanted a caramel macchiato, but they were out of caramel, so I tried the cinnamon honey option. The barista was very pleasant and helpful. They use recyclable materials, which is great! They had coffee options and croissants available this morning. They have street parking.“

“This is a beautiful coffee shop in St. Clair Shores. They have ample sitting with traditional tables and chairs, but also booths, counches, and louge chairs. They also have outdoor seating. For a Tuesday afternoon they seemed busy. You could see friends were gathered, people working on their laptops, and young families dining in. We liked the food, but for what you paid for what you got was below par for us. We had two sandwhiches, a soup, and a smoothie for $40 not including tip. We did carry out and still was very hungry afterwards. I also didn't like how they refused to turn one of the sandwiches into a salad. Most places do that, but not here. They do have Udis gluten free bread as an option, but I don't like that brand. FYI Canyon Bakehouse gluten free bread is way better. I was definitely left hunger, but my husband too. His sandwich was so small. We couldn't believe it. The service was okay, but they made us wait a lotng time. A women greated us after she rang up the women in front of us and then ignored us for about 20 minutes. She might of been putting orders together, but didn't say one word to us. Another woman came from the kitchen and walked passed us to not a word as we awkwardly waited. Finally a young guy from the kitchen came out to serve us and take our order. He was nice. But since we were the only people in line, I can't understand why it took so long.“

“Friendly staff and one of the few coffee places near the Henry Ford main campus. Prefer a simple cup of black coffee when the coffee is quality. Usually request extra coffee when doing a pour over. Usually I avoid the specialty flavored coffees: cherry, vanilla, or hazelnut. I can do a light or dark roast. Flavored coffee is not my cup of tea, as the mixed analogy goes.“

“Was feeling the need for coneys again so, Google to the rescue and off to Warren Family.A soft-spoken young woman was busy taking both to-go orders and dealing with dine-in customers as well as running the register. She did an great job and remained upbeat & professional throughout. The place is clean, bright, open and quiet. Tile floors and marble table tops don't often help with that. And the radio was at a perfect volume, audible but not intrusive.Their menu isn't as extensive as some but has quite a lot to offer. Tuesdays coneys are just $0.99 each.I got two coneys, as usual. The dog has a good chew to it, the onions have a kick and the buns are warm and soft. For a coney that is all I need.I was in & out in under 30 minutes and will happily return.Kid-friendliness: They'll be fine.Wheelchair accessibility: Oodles of room, both at the tables and the booths.“

“Found a delicious vanilla latte; plus the dirty chai was super strong and had a unique spiced flavor. The chocolate chip cookie was excellent, soft but with crispy edges, just like I like it, and the yummy chocolate bites mmm so sweet. The eggy breakfast sandwich was perfect on a fluffy savory biscuit. It had an interesting cream cheese spread mixed in making the eggs nice and creamy and the pickle slices made for a nice surprise. I do wish we got a bit more of the side salad because I enjoy my greens! The neighborhood doesn't seem like the safest, but it was still great to stop by this chill spot by chance during our visit to Detroit!“

“Stopped by today for a quick sit down with a latte. I ordered a lavender oatmilk latte and a slice of pound cake warmed up. The latte was good, very flavorful and sweet. A bit foamy though. The pound cake was truthfully very bland, it was pretty dry and flavorless. The icing was even pretty hard to taste. The atmosphere is nice, plenty of greenery and unique nic-nacs. However, this cafe is advertised as a gallery as well. There were no paintings or photos or anything up which was disappointing. The service was great! The barista Kattia was super friendly and bubbly. She offered to warm up the pound cake, very sweet. I more than likely would only stop by again if I’m on this side of town specifically, but I probably wouldn’t make a trip for it.Parking: Parking right out front!“

“One of my favorite coffee spots in the D! A bit unique in that you can have your coffee beverage made of any of the many types of beans and roasts they have available thanks to their Javabot that uses a system of tubes connecting their various types of beans to the barista station. Kind of fits with the whole factory vibe They also have the types of coffee broken up into Full bodied (dark roasts), balanced (medium roast), and mild roasts in case you need some guidance as to what to choose. Want your latte made with Jamaica Blue Mountain beans? No problem! I usually take my coffee black as a pour over, aeropress or drip so I do the "brew by the cup" option which I think they do as an Americano but don't quote me on that. It is pretty unique. You can of course also by whole beans as well which I usually do. They are located in the lobby of First National building at Campus Martius so you can easily do some site seeing after grabbing your cuppa Joe. Parking in the area is usually street parking a few blocks away or the parking structures on Congress.“
“The MOCAD Café is a relaxing and very chill café located directly inside the Museum of Contemporary Art. As expected, the space is designed thoughtfully and exudes relaxation. It has an urban-industrial feel with a touch of modernism. The big garage windows allow for plenty of natural light - when it's warm, they're open to allow a nice breeze. There are many tables with chairs, creating a perfect atmosphere for small group gatherings or a quiet work sesh'.Not only do they sell coffee, tea, and baked goods sourced locally, but there's also a fully stocked bar with a rotating seasonal menu. Many of the cocktails are bright and refreshing, having been curated by the bartenders. Pricing is fair, as well. The staff are always friendly and kind, and the service has been nothing short of splendid. You don't need to visit the museum to visit the café, as it's located directly to the right of you as you enter the museum. Stop in for a drink or treat, and enjoy the museum if you have time.“

“I read a negative review below about how Lucky's coffee isn't as good and to go to LeRouge and I think this person has it backwards. I love Lucky's coffee. It's creamy, nutty, and consistent.Jason, the barista, is far more than a slinger of caffeinated libations. He is a cultivator of community and camaraderie, always so pleasant to chat with. He always remembers me, the warmth of which you won't find at Red Hook Indian Village. It's everything you could want in a local coffee shop. However, my one suggestion for refinement (and why I took off one star) is the baked goods. The croissants, in particular, are devoid of the joie de vivre one expects from such a French patisserie classic. Their almond croissant’s frangipane doesn't possess that dense creaminess, and its dough is bereft of that crispy flakiness as you'll find elsewhere. A modest proposition: perhaps Lucky's could source their croissants from Golden Wheat in Warren (also a revered supplier to Atomic Coffee in Royal Oak). All in all, I would absolutely recommend Lucky's coffee--not just for their coffee but for the experience, steeped in authenticity and charm.Going on a walk or coming after a yoga class? Check it out! Or just go because you need your morning fix. It's one of my favorite coffee shops to go to and I don't need to drive all the way to Red Hook Indian Village anymore.“

“Came here with my husband and 4 year old. Very welcoming, friendly staff. Decently-sized, manageable menu, unique variety of smoothies and Italian sodas and coffee. Food came quickly and was delicious (bacon egg and cheese panini, crustless broccoli and cheese quiche, blueberry muffin and Monte Cristo). I came back twice in one day. Considered a third but exercised some self-control. But I will definitely be back.“
“First I'd like to express how delighted I am with this cafe's staff who are always cheerful and welcoming. Their food is extremely fresh, and I am amazed at the wide selection of choices they offer in their bright, and very clean cafe. Try their soups, usually 3 or 4 choices that change each day. I like to get their lamb shawermas too, and really, their mediterrabean offerings are tasty! They also do a bunch of yummy sandwiches made right on the spot to order. I tend to try their daily specials, as those are usually being prepared and cooked freshly just moments before lunchtime. You might find a mac n cheese one day, a lasagne the next. Today I'm enjoying their spiced chicken. You can clearly see all of the ingredients offered, and if you arrive early in the day, they do a breakfast selection to keep you going. As their clean, bright, cozy space is take-out only, the outdoor deck is only 20 feet away, a nice place to eat on non-Winter days. There is a padded bench just inside nearby in a pinch. They're a family business, so please do come and satisfy your hunger.“

“The Polish Yacht Club's Walleye and Perch are some of the best in all of Detroit (only Andrew's competes and it's a bit more expensive). It's a large portion that's cooked perfectly and tastes incredibly fresh (a rarity around here, but I won't name names). It's fried, but not greasy at all, and it's flaky because it's fresh (no squishy fish here, thank God) Every dinner is served with pickles, coleslaw, French fries and soup so the value is ridiculous. They also don't lack condiments (malt vinegar included) which I appreciate. The inside of the Yacht Club genuinely looks like the Cigar Lounge of a Country Club. I love it. Small, casual with old school elegance. And the service gives off that same vibe. It's like you're in a cigar lounge only with no smoking and excellent food. Personally, I loved the Ivanhoe Club and will be back!“
