I'm a chimichanga fan and often judge a Mexican restaurant on their chimi. 7 Mares has the best chimichanga I've had in GR. And the rest of their offerings are excellent too.You probably won't be wowed by their space, but their food is excellent and their staff is always friendly.
On the corner of Kalamazoo & Adams, 7 Mares has been on my list for a while. We grabbed a parking spot on the street and were greeted immediately after walking in and sitting in a booth. There were 6 different hot sauce bottles on the table, including one for shrimp. I started off with a horchata, complimentary chips, and half a dozen oysters, which came with lime slices. We ordered caldo de camarón, al pastor tacos, steak tacos, and quesabirria tacos. Everything was super flavorful! Salsa’s had the perfect spicy kick. Our order was packed with extra limes, cilantro, onions, and tortillas. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for take out!
