“I ate here on Wednesday night (Feb 7 2024) with a large group, 12 people for a friend's birthday, and it was fantastic! The food and drinks were incredible, but I was most impressed with our server, a guy with a black beanie and beard. Our group split our check into 6 different checks and I imagine it was such a pain to organize everything given we all had multiple plates and drinks. From the jump, Jake, who I worked with to plan, was flexible, helpful, and communicative. They allowed me to bring in approved catering, my own sound, and even a drag queen! Chicken parm was HUGE (took half to go) and was seasoned perfectly. Hubby had the gnocchi with sausage and said it was FABULOUS! We both added a salad to our meals, house salad for me and Caesar for him. Had the Arancini for an appetizer, and it was soooo good! “Buddy's pizza is definitely at the top of Detroit style pizza. It's not overly thick and has great flavor throughout. The toppings are fresh and they let you do half and half in their large ones. The special seasoned sauce really seals the deal on the pizza and is free to add as a substitute for their original sauce. The wings were okay, but really small for the price. Probably wouldn't order those again. OThe waiter was friendly and knowledgeable and definitely helped us make informed decisions about the pizza. I would definitely recommend Buddy's and will eat there again.“

“What a beautiful, vibey restaurant in Ferndale. Love it! We went at prime time on a Saturday and were seated pretty much right away for our 7:30 reservation. The ambiance is lively and fun without being too loud, the service was great even though they were short-staffed, and the food and cocktails were top-notch.Our handsome waiter took the time to answer all of our questions and make suggestions, and even though he gave us a heads up that they were short that night, I don't think we would have even noticed. I really loved the 'mist over kanto' cocktail - made with mezcal and citrus - it's so pretty and tasty without being too smoky or too sweet - perfectly balanced. The 3 of us split 2 sushi rolls and each had an entree. The sushi was so good and fresh - I highly recommend both rolls - the Tigerlily and the Kani roll. The Tigerlily is made with beautiful salmon and the Kani with the most delicious fresh snow crab - I want to go back just for that one. It's so sweet and delicious. My 2 friends went with the waiter's suggestion of the Katsucurry - it looked and smelled divine. I definitely want to try that one next time. I ordered the Suzuki, which is Japanese sea bass in a miso buerre blanc - it was surprisingly sweet, but tasted really good with the fish, which was cooked perfectly with crispy skin. Tender, moist and flavorful. It is served with a pretty salad, but that part needed seasoning - I added soy sauce, and it was pretty good. I didn't love the amount of strong onions on it though - I'd suggest that they soak those first - they were fairly overpowering, and I just pushed them to the side. Still a good dish.I am already looking forward to returning.Parking: The lot across the street is the best lot.“

“If you're into the extreme music scene you already know about The Sanctuary. For those looking for a cool spot to catch a club-size concert in the Detroit area, this is an excellent venue. They've done a fantastic job updating the whole facility inside and out. Great bar staff and they offer Liquid Death (non-alcoloic beverage) which is a big plus for me personally.The Sanctuary books tons of killer bands, so keep a close eye on their event calendar.Parking in Hamtramck is a nightmare everywhere, so just plan on that being a headache, but that's not on the venue. That's just part of venturing into that side of town.“

“I've been here twice and both times were so fun. I found the bartenders to be a delight. Our last bartender was knowledgeable about cocktails and made us things not on their menu. It is small but that's part of the charm. The lobby of the hotel is also a cool vibe so when people complain about sitting out there,I don't get it. I would only be annoyed being a hotel guest and NOT being able to sit in the lobby. The drinks aren't cheap but it's for sure a fun stop.“

“I was searching for a restaurant or something somewhere near the Fisher Theater to kill a little time, and I walked a little and found this place. I was a little off put by the fact that my first interaction basically was "we only have 4 tops, so can you sit at the bar?" I mentioned I feel odd sitting at a bar and not ordering alcohol as I typically only drink water. I sat at the bar, and well, my server Ray was fantastic. I asked if they had hot chocolate and was told that they can make it and not only did they make it she made sure to put it in a hot cup with a lid so I could refill and it would stay hot. I then asked about some food options, and tonight, they had a few specials. One was a pizza, and one was this delicious gnocchi dish I ordered. I was excited to hear the word Gnocci as I love it. So I ordered it with the bread. I was highly impressed with this dish. My only small note would be I wish the Gnocci had remained crispy and not soft just the way I prefer it, but it was still delicious and hot and fresh. I am more than full and didn't finish the bread, thank god!! All the food looked great, and I observed nothing but great customer service. I will tell you it's on the more expensive side as my Gnocci and Bread were $18 by them selves. The portion appeared small for that price, but as I write this, I am stuffed. I would definitely recommend this place for a visit, especially if you are downtown before a show. A more even mix of the onions and peppers would have made it top notch.Oysters were incredibly flavorful and a good choice for a starter.Clam chowder was packed with clams, a nice amount of potatoes and celery mixed in. Could have been a bit warmer, was closer to mildly warm than hot.Crab cakes were absolutely loaded with crab and had a nice butter taste, not just filler like most places.Basil Hazel was a great mocktail that I'd love to have again.Overall was quite happy, with a couple minor tweaks, I'd bump up to the 5th star.“

“Didn't eat anything so I can't rate it but had a couple of drinks which are pricey I ended up paying $30 for 2 drinks which $5 of that was a tip. 2 drinks should never cost $25 regardless of what event is going on. Lots of steps going from the entrance to the bar to the restroom and so on but I liked the feel of the place., when it's closing time it's closing time they want you out and doors closed by 11. All in all it's a good place to check out.“

If you are a fan of the TV show RuPaul's Drag Race, this is the place to go in metro Detroit. They book many of the drag queen contestants to perform in their Brunch shows.Parking: Parking in Royal Oak is free on Sundays and holidays. On all other days you have to pay from 11am-midnight. I'd recommend the Parking garages, as they let you park for the first two hours for free before having to pay.“

Whatever she feels like cooking, the day we visited is split pea, and not a fan of peas, this was loaded with chunks of ham and potatoes. Very stick to your ribs soup.
