Painted Turtle Hard Cider Tasting Room Cideries • $$

“We went to Red Barn/Painted Turtle for the Turkey Reuben sandwich. I couldn’t resist eating my entire sandwich. Wife, Denise had the presence of mind to savor it and save half for a later date. The accompanying fries were delicious, too. Met some visitors from Holland and San Lake. Had a great visit with owner, Barb Roth.Parking: The place offers one handicapped parking spot and it may be rough to meander to the door. Better marking for the spot would be helpful as a car came up between ours and another. This car would have eliminated a chance to use a ramp device if your handicapped vehicle was “van accessible”.Kid-friendliness: There are plenty of things for kids to do during the spring, summer and fall seasons and corn-hole games during the winter.Wheelchair accessibility: It may be a bit rough as their parking is not paved, but everything is on the same level. One would need to ask for another person to open the door. However, this is West Michigan. Someone would come quickly as you make your way to the door.“

“I have been a fan of the Ice cream caboose since the day it opened and at that time I lived less than two miles away so it was a trip I made twice a week. I tried everything on the menu except for the non-dairy ice cream. The people who work in the caboose are always super friendly and you can plainly see it is a family environment. I will make the trip to the caboose at least twice each month of the summer season and fall. Overall the caboose is an icon of ice cream in the making.“
