“My travels have brought me to the small town of New Era a couple weeks ago. It was the only place in town. When looking online at the menu, it looked short, but I was hungry so I gave it a try. They specialized in grilled cheese and tomato soup. Why not? It was a rainy day.This place did NOT disappoint. They brought me this huge stuffed grilled cheese sandwich with piles and piles of ham on it. It had cream cheese on it, which was questionable, but was surprisingly delicious! At $14 for a grilled ham and cheese and tomato soup, simply the best I've ever heard..and that's comparing against a grilled cheese served in Switzerland that was claimed as being a world renowned grilled cheese and one of the best in the world. This place beat them out, hands down.While I most likely won't be back to this little town, I will miss this gem in the middle of the Mid-northern Michigan wilderness. Stop and try it. It may be a couple miles off the highway, but it WILL be worth it!”

“Cutest little bakery around! The young lady working was so sweet! She walked us through all of the available selections and gave us a take home recommendation of their English Muffin Bread which is the best bread for toasting I’ve ever had! We chose a custard long John and pumpkin cake donut with coffee. Great selection, the long John was fluffy and light and both were freshly made. The furniture was comfortable and great for enjoying the view of this quaint little town. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back!”

I highly recommend getting pepperoni and onion, the best topping combo. The slight sweetness of the onions is amazing next to the savory pepperoni flavor. The dough is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the sauce is tomatoey yummy goodness, the cheese is perfectly melted every time. I always burn my mouth eating it because i cant wait for it to cool down but its so worth it. Theres nothing else i can even say than COME HERE. SUPPORT THE BEST LOCAL PIZZA CHAIN OF ALL TIME”

“The Brown Bear is the kind of place that'll take a good day and make it better.I was just passing through and decided to stop in for a quick lunch at the bar and was glad I did.The bartender/server made me feel welcome from the get-go, helped me with my order and even changed the channel on the TV over the bar so I could watch the Tigers.I ordered the Notorious Bear Burger and the server asked if I wanted the Cub (½ pound of meat!) or the full Bear Burger (1 whole pound of meat!!!). I reluctantly decided to b behave myself and ordered the Cub... and was glad I did because it was more than enough for me!The burger was delicious, the meat was cooked to order and the waffle fries were fresh and tasty. Plus, there are free refills on stuff drinks.In short, the service was impeccable, the prices very reasonable (I tipped 100% because the cost was so low) and the vibe was good.”
