“My husband and I went for the first time tonight and the ONLY thing I wished would be different is if we didn’t go so I could experience going for the first time all over again! Everything was delicious! We had 4 cocktails, 2 appetizers, 2 specialty rolls, and 2 desserts, and EVERYTHING was delicious!! I almost couldn’t believe how everything seemed to taste better than the last thing that came out and blew me away! We are from Memphis, TN and are used to very good food and since moving to Michigan have been scouring places that meet our standards. Maru EXCEEDED all standards by every metric imaginable! The taste, the portions, the presentation…EVERYTHING was tasteful and magnificent! And our waitress Kenzie was phenomenal, extremely knowledgeable about the menu and specials, very kind and sweet and extremely attentive! I can’t wait to come back again!”

When you order a salad 🥗 for example inside it's a big platter full of goodness but I ordered to go it was far less sized yet paid full and same price but was almost half sized smaller. so 🤔 was I ripped off? Or is this normal for to go orders?”

“Will not go again. This is a steak house and after making three attempts to make a filet mignon steak correct, still all three were mushy, gray, not seared and unable to cut. Ordered medium rare and never came back that way. Lobster tails sent out under cooked had to be sent back. Not charged for meal but made a special dinner not enjoyable. Our server was excellent.”

“Our family comes up for a Frankenmuth trip often at holiday time. We are coffee lovers and in the past we struggled to find good coffee up here! Not this time 😁 we went to your Saginaw location 3 times and the Frankenmuth one time during our weekend stay. And it was DELICIOUS everytime. The brown sugar roasted hazelnut coffee was superior. Everytime we come back, this will for sure be our coffee stop. Thanks for the great coffee! 💜”

“I have to share my experience with Emily Mai’s Pho and More at the Midland Mall food court. As a vendor at Comic Con Midland Mall, I needed a quick bite to eat before heading back to my booth. The mall was packed, and every food court line was long (which was great to see!), so I looked for the shortest one—and that happened to be the Vietnamese restaurant. I’d never had Vietnamese food before, but I saw fried rice on their menu and figured that would be a safe bet. When I got to the register, the gentleman kindly apologized and said they weren’t doing stir-fry items due to a staff shortage. Totally understandable. Then I asked, “What is Pho?” He explained it to me, and in my completely uneducated way, I asked, “Like ramen noodles?” He quickly said, “No, ramen and Pho are like apples and oranges.” By this point, the line behind me was growing, so I just said, “I’ll take it!”—still not completely sure what I was getting. He explained I’d receive two containers: one with hot broth and another with the Pho. I was supposed to pour the broth over the Pho and add a little bag of fresh basil. He even told me, “Trust me, put the basil in.” I got everything back to my booth, set up in my little vendor chair, and stared at this steaming bowl of something completely new to me. I wasn’t sure if I even liked basil. I saw jalapeños in there and thought, Oh no, I don’t want it too spicy. But I let it all simmer together, cool down a little, and then finally took my first bite. And WOW. I have never been so surprised and pleased with what I was eating. The only way I can describe it is: That’s as good as “Grandma” makes! And my grandma was a phenomenal cook! The flavors were perfectly balanced, nothing overpowered anything else—it was just pure comfort in a bowl. So, if you’ve never tried Pho before, TRUST ME—you need to go to Emily Mai’s Pho and More. You will not be disappointed. In fact, you’ll probably walk away with a new favorite meal. I know I did!”

“Tried Big O's Burgers and BBQ today for the first time. My wife, daughter and friend had never heard of or been there. I can gladly say I was very impressed! The brisket, pulled pork and the burger we got was outstanding! Oh, and IMO, you gotta have a great coleslaw to go with that kind of meal.... Coleslaw was spit on as well! For the first time trying their food I give them a 10/10! Nice job guys! Keep up the good work! I love supporting the small businesses that deserve the support! A+++”

“Mi Element is an awesome place to grab a coffee and Nutella croissant or a beer and a gourmet sandwich. As a perk, they host live music in the evenings from Thursday through Sunday. My whole family loves this place and we spend a few days here each week listening to music and playing board games. Tony and Suzanne are amazing and so welcoming. They have created an oasis for the artistic - 10 out of 10 recommend.”

“We love Dow Gardens and the Canopy walk! I live 50 minutes away, but have purchased a yearly pass for 3 of our family members. It is a great last-day-of-school trip with my children and recently, I brought family from out of state. They loved it so much! The gardens always have something blooming and in the spring the butterfly garden is my favorite.highly recommend seeing this all for yourself. (Make an online reservation when going to view the butterflies in the spring.)

Suggestion: if you have young kids, taking a wagon or stroller is best. The walkways are stroller/wagon friendly. We like to bring snacks or lunches along too. It’s a lot of walking.

Side note: as of August 2024, the playground in the whiting forest is closed. This does disappoint us as our children loved that playground when we went.”

“The macarons at the Midland location were SO good. Very light & fluffy and the flavors were awesome. Stopped by today at the Bay City location and was very disappointed. My 5 year-old daughter took a couple bites and said “Are you sure these are the same cookies as last time?” The macarons were nowhere near how they were in Midland - not sure what changed. They were crunchy with little flavor. I love this shop so I will still be back, hoping it was just an off day. Happy to have them in downtown BC!”

“I just went here a couple days ago after buying spices at Kroger. Paid six times as much at Kroger for the same spices at Beyond Measure. Wish I had gone here a long time ago because not only do they have spices, they have lots of other stuff. Highly recommend that you go and at least take a look.”

We had two pasta bundle plus a couple of extra trays for a party of 20 delivered to our house (not in their delivery area but accomodated us) Food was excellent and reasonably hot considering the distance it traveled. However the Mandarin Chicken was not what my daughter expected and the bread was "dry like a biscuit" My Chicago style steak was just *ok*, will need to add sauce to finish the rest. Au Jus tasted like water. Guess we will be sticking to the Club and Taco grinders that we know are excellent.”

“Located on Northwood University Campus. What a great little hideaway and right on the Rail Trail. Most are unaware this hotel is open to the public. Clean rooms and at affordable price. It is a great guest experience while you get to help students learn their skill sets. I stay here every time I am in town. Nice and quiet.”

“Wish they had their own fountain drink station with the normal Subway drinks available. They share their fountain drink station with the gas station that they are inside of. Usually, half that station isn't working so there's very few choices. They've worked a little on their eating area making it so more people can eat there, but it would be nice to have more comfortable seating with chairs and tables instead of hard benches. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious and made correctly so I can overlook most of the other issues.”

“We eat at jets a lot. Lately we have noticed a decline in quality. We all know jets is not cheap but it’s worth it. Well this time not so much. We called and talked to “shift manager will” and was told we had to drive to the other end of town to show them because he “knew for a fact these were cooked right”. If this is how jets is now then no one should ever eat there. He was extremely rude and condescending. We had it delivered because we couldn’t go pick it up ourselves. Jets you are unacceptable and there is plenty of competition to avoid you for the foreseeable future.”

“There is one issue and others have same issue with is they close so early at 2pm it's very hard to dine here finding them open. Which automatically make us go to other places. So you need longer hours just do. Otherwise it's a top notch place with incredible food and seating area.”

“i really, really enjoy biggby coffee. they have a lot of unique flavors and offer plenty of choices of both drinks and snacks throughout the year. my biggest issue is that the service is always a hit or miss. there have been a handful of times where i would have to wait for my drink because some of the baristas are too busy quoting tiktok videos to each other, and other times i am in and out within 5 minutes. overall, this location is my favorite, but i wish service was a bit better.”
