It has been our “Go to” restaurant for birthdays and anniversaries for many years, except the disappointment of our absence during the repairs caused by the fire. The food is excellent, the service superb. This time, however, we went to celebrate a very special event. We had no intention of disclosing the purpose, except to tell them it was a very special event. The hostess that seated us, got my wife to disclose the event. Before we knew it, the Manager, Eric, came to our table, expressing congratulations, etc. Several others, some we knew, and others we did not, also came to our table to express their congratulations. Eric then returned a second time, with more kind words. What we learned during this visit, Capitol Grille is not only about great food, and great service, it is about the people, very special people who made this visit extraordinary. Mike R.”

I did the Monday night salmon special so I got out of there with huge, healthy, tasty meal for $27 before tip. Orderi g the special also meant that some money went to a cool charity providing musical instruments to kids. My server Tiffany C. was on the money, keeping my drink full and providing useful menu info. I was just in from the west coast so I was eating at 9:45pm and never thought I would find something like this. A total winner.”

This is the only restaurant in the metro Detroit area that I can confidently vouch for - their Korean style Don Katsu is legit and you can’t find other Korean restaurants that make it the true traditional way. Ribs, Brisket, Pulled Pork, Chicken, Baked Beans and Hush Puppies are ALL EXCELLENT. The Coleslaw could have been a bit creamer, but we didn't come here for veggies or salad. Loved their sauces as well. We will definitely be back and bringing friends.”

“Saw this place on Chowdowndetroit. Thought it would be a nice place to take my Filipina wife for her birthday meal. It was like walking into a nice simple restaurant back in the Philippines. Even had the Filipino favorite past time a Karaoke machine just like back home. The only thing missing were the chickens running around outside crowing. The owners were warm and welcoming with a sense of humor. The food was just like back in the Philippines flavorful and filling. For the price it was a value for the combo meal the right amount of food for one person or split between 2 for a light meal. Of the 4 of us eating I was a piggy and ate it all but the other 3 had leftovers to take home. They offer other thing Filipino to go items from the little Filipino (Sari-Sari) store they have. Overall, it's a place I would drive to from Lansing (1hr 20 min drive) again for on a special occasion. This is a slice of the Philippines in metro Detroit.”

“We've been eating here regularly and the food has become consistently good. Their vada pav is flavorful it's one of our favorites now. The chole tastes different from the usual style but delicious in its own way, and the samosa chaat is always enjoyable. Recently we tried the paneer tawa masala and veg kolhapuri, and both were excellent. The only dish we still don't prefer is the pav bhaji, but overall consistency in food quality has improved a lot and we enjoy coming back.”

There is a self ordering kiosk and we were offered the option to use the kiosk or to place our order with the restaurant staff. He was super helpful and patient. All of the food looked and tasted delicious. We also tried the Mango Green Tea with mango jelly.”

The food was excellent, and our server Bree was even better! My wife and I really appreciated her attentiveness and kindness. We never were left waiting and she checked in frequently and accommodated our requests gracefully. She made a special day for us even better!”

The best part the servings were ample enough I have left overs for a day or two. In addition to Chris the staff was welcoming and friendly. I will be back. Chris needs a raise for doing an amazing job!!”

“wanted to treat an entire Senior Living community on Rochester Rd to some great pizza. I ordered party trays from Jeffrey several days ahead and everything was was perfect. I wanted to get them double cut, and next time I probably will, but seriously, I saw people > 85 (men and women) eating 2 BIG pieces, it was like serving them gold! In the past, I would bring a few Little Ceasars (because of budget -- I just donate this stuff) but this time I wanted something special. We were celebrating my mom's 95th birthday .... so I wanted to splurge. It was 100000X better than Little Ceasars and everyone loved it. Jeffrey was so nice, so professional and helpful and whomever made the pizzas that day (my husband picked them up, he said it was two women in the shop) they did an awesome job, each pizza looked and smelled beautifully, The residents were even "caught" sneaking pieces to thier apartments for later ... and it went so fast, I never even got to have some. I always order from this Jets (it is just better than the one on Auburn) and I hope corporately you please give Jeff and big thumbs up! I ordered hamburgers too, but the pizza was the hit of the party. They don't get this treat often, so Thank you guys for a job well done!”

“Craving Lumpia and Halo Halo while shopping I Googled the best lumpia near me Jullie Ryan popped up and since we live an hour north we don’t have any Filipino restaurants so we had to try this place ! The five star rating is based primarily on the young man who was our cashier. His customer service was exemplary of what you want from customer facing employees. He was incredibly cordial and welcoming, informative and engaging. I sincerely hope that he is being groomed for management. The food was good for casual dining. The tenders over the fusion fries were very tender and tasty. The fries were perfectly crispy. Even while cleaning up our area and planning to leave, the young man was simply a joy. We continued to talk about his great service during our drive home. It's certainly made our day.”

It’s 4 PM and somehow this place is completely empty. And the cinnamon roll? Unreal. It tasted like a real cinnamon roll, not one of those overly processed, fake tasting franchise ones. You know the difference immediately. This had that homemade, bakery-quality flavor, rich cinnamon, perfectly soft dough, warm all the way through, with that melt-in-your-mouth texture that’s both fluffy and gooey at the same time.

If you’re anywhere near Troy and you’re craving something sweet, go here immediately. No hesitation. No second guessing.
