This place hasn't really changed in my lifetime. I appreciate that. On the rare occasion I make it home I often times end up here. On my last visit, the Coney Dog was terrific and the Onion rings were a lil blah... but onion rings are hit and miss everywhere. It was a gamble I took knowing they may not be for me. This is a great bar, with a nice staff and a friendly community. Their Italian steak sandwich is highly recommend, and all of their soups are made in house. Amanda the bartender was very nice and helpful. This is a great place to get a cheap and tasty bite to eat with a nice cold one to wash it down.

Quaint dive bar soon to be closed and remodeled. Vassar Bar is exactly what you expect a small town bar to be like: inexpensive and strong drinks, a bit rundown, quirky characters, a bartender that has been there for an eternity. We appreciated talking with the patrons and bartender and getting some scoop on the goings on. I hope the new owners keep the charm and character of the bar.
