“Great place, good food, weird vibe! The waitress or cook was off. We ordered an appetizer. Our friends ordered a different appetizer after us. Their appetizer arrived. We asked about ours. She told us it will be coming. Our food arrived and we asked again about the appetizer. She seemed confused. The appetizer never arrived and when she brought the bill she said something about never getting the appetizer. The whole exchange was weird. They should also take salads off the menu. That was not available when we were there either.“
“I love Turf Club. This is a classic music venue with great service. I have been there a few times now and have never had a bad experience. The stage is elevated a bit so even if you're in the back, you can see the performance. This place isn't huge, so you get a very intimate setting. Great options at the bar for drinks and they have food, even though I haven't tried anything yet. Looks good though! I could not believe the service we got the last time we were there. We had a table and our server was so on top of everything. Never had to wait long for a drink refill. He was so nice and funny. Really added to the whole experience! I always keep an eye out for events at Turf Club because I'll take any excuse to visit here!“
“For me neighborhood bars are the heartbeat of the community. A good place to get information on things to eat, see and do. The Spot has that feel. A smaller place with room for 6-10 at the bar and 4-6 booth/tables. The flavor in the air was a musty grandmas living room with a hint of an ashtray. A pinball machine, darts and machine fed pull tabs are available as well as paperback books and a big Bible. The bartender was the kind that uses a lot sarcasm to keep things in order and that’s not bad especially when you see the same people most of the time. A shot and a beer was 9$. If I was ever in the neighborhood again I’d check out another place for variety but would have no issue with going back. Enjoy!“
“The Dubliner Pub's live Irish music (they sing more than just Irish, but Irish is my fave) and grab-someone-and-twirl-them dancing is top notch, so make sure you check this place out when they host live music, which is often thankfully. Nice side room with arcade style games and a pool table. We really love coming here; The atmosphere is great, even the old creaky wood floors!“
“Ahh Ted’s Rec. I kinda dig the place. Cool old building just kinda hanging out on a lot that has pot holes your car can disappear into. Pinball game, darts, pool table and juke box was all the recreation I could see unless I was blatantly missing something. Girls in the young 20s and guys of all ages. Almost had a daddy complex kind of feel but could have just been that night. Bartender was courteous and didn’t f around like manyyounger bartenders do. I’ll stop back if I find myself back in the area.“
“My visit to The Nook in St. Paul was a delightfully cozy experience that perfectly captured the essence of a neighborhood gem. Nestled in a quaint corner, this local haunt is famed for its juicy burgers and the warm, welcoming ambiance that makes you feel like a regular the moment you step inside. The interior of The Nook is charmingly small and intimate, with a genuine, old-school bar feel that adds to its character. The atmosphere is bustling yet friendly, filled with the chatter of happy diners and the clinking of glasses. The highlight of The Nook, undoubtedly, is their burgers. I opted for the "Juicy Nookie," their take on the Juicy Lucy, and it was a revelation. The burger was expertly cooked, with the cheese perfectly melted inside the beef patty, creating a gooey, delicious center that was both flavorful and satisfying. The meat was seasoned well, and the bun was fresh and soft, holding everything together beautifully. In addition to the burgers, their homemade fries were a standout, being crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Paired with a local craft beer from their extensive selection, my meal was comfort food done right.Service at The Nook was impeccable. The staff was attentive and quick, ensuring our drinks were never empty and our meal was to our liking. They seemed genuinely interested in making our experience memorable, which was much appreciated. In conclusion, The Nook is a must-visit for anyone in St. Paul looking for a hearty meal in a snug, friendly setting. It’s perfect for a casual night out with friends or a relaxed dinner after a long day. With its combination of delicious food, a cozy atmosphere, and excellent service, The Nook certainly left a lasting impression on me.“
“The Country Lounge has cheap drinks and they make a great Bloody Mary! They have pull tabs, a pool table, and a TouchTunes player. It’s definitely a dive bar, but it’s always a lot of fun! You can order Heggie’s pizza here, which are pretty tasty.“
“I really enjoyed my first visit to Half Time Rec. The cheese curds were good, as were the affordable drinks. They didn't seem to be doing table service, so we had to go to the bar to order. We were quite hungry and thirsty, so I'm glad that we didn't sit awkwardly at our table for too long. It was a little loud with background music and growing crowd noises, but I'm sure others were enjoying it. I'd be eager to go back to try the breakfast food, or some of the dinners, too.“
“Nice local bar in the bottom of a house feel. The bartender is Midwest MN awesome. A life long resident feel with a lifelong residential feel to an old historic Polish Hall. These are become rarer and rarer, definitely worth the stop for the life experience.“
“Tried Cloverleaf for the first time tonight with some friends - it did not disappoint! This is a great little bar to grab a drink, chat with friends, watch some sports, and grab a bite to eat! We tried the Chicken Melt, Cheeseburger, BLT, and Mozzarella Sticks. All were delish and I would come back again for them. Our server Sarah was super friendly and helpful. Very cool atmosphere where you don’t feel pressured to leave and can easily spend some time amongst friends.“
“Friendly neighborhood spot with a nice variety of tasty food (including a brunch menu on the weekend until 3pm), a pool table, and even a few games for the kiddos. Good music is almost always playing in this super casual dive, and the staff is great!“
“It's a wonderful place. Real family atmosphere. Felt just like home and the food was absolutely delicious! Free Thanksgiving dinner for all who had no where to go! Thank you so much!Parking: Large free parking lotKid-friendliness: Many children playing and eating.“
