“They are some of the best wings I've ever had. Best place to stop during a road trip. Cash only, I'd recommend the wings plain; they're so good they don't even need sauce. It does take a while because everything is made from scratch, but I believe it was worth the wait.“
“This place is amazing. Our server was BJ and she not only served us in a timely manner she also made us feel like family. Gary was our cook and he cooked our order just as we requested. We are picky lol and he was ok with all of our modifications without any problems and with a smile singing while he cooked. BJ keeped my coffee hot and full plumb up til we left. We will for sure be coming back! Thanks you guys for making us so comfortable!“
“Saw Boomland on the side of the road while on a multi state road trip and decided to stop. Found Wally's inside and we're hungry and this was the only place open since it was Christmas Day.I got corn and baked beans and chili...it was pretty good. My husband and son got fried chicken, mashed potatoes and stuffing. They said it was ok. Price wasn't terrible. The dining area is large and surrounded by lots of taxidermy. Star was their sweet tea. I love sweet tea and there's is the best I've ever had“
“Just cutting through town and ran into this restaurant decided to give it a shot. What a great hidden gem if you’re not from that area. I walked in, sat down at the bar for lunch. The bartender Abby was very professional, and polite. I decided to go with the chopped brisket sandwich and brussels sprouts. The sandwich came out with plenty of meat and had their competition barbecue sauce with melted cheddar cheese. I will tell you I had to take off the jalapeños as they were too hot for me, and I felt for me it would overpower the sandwich. The brisket was cooked perfectly you cannot go wrong with that sandwich, It was great. The brussels sprouts were amazing. They are served with some shaved Parmesan cheese on top, but the highlight was the seasoning and maybe balsamic vinegar? The establishment was extremely clean, plenty of open seating, so you don’t feel crowded and shoved in like a chain restaurant. The owner was super nice as he walked around checked on people and spoke to them individually. My only complaint is I do not live near this restaurant, so I will only be able to hit it while traveling. can’t wait to go back“
“We have dined in and carry out at PRAIRE QUEEN. Today we were in a hurry and got carry out at around 11:00am. We got two chicken dinners. As usual the amount of food was more than normal. The two pieces of chicken had one of the best tastes ever and had to be pan fried. Wow! The mashed potatoes were like my Mom use to make and the white cream gravy was exceptional. Not so much pepper in the gravy that you could not enjoy it. I can not even describe the green beans. I'll bet we will be watching for the day fried chicken is on the menu next and we will drive the 15 miles to East PRAIRE for the greatest comfort food ever.Pastor Joe Mooney“
“Very good thin crust pizza. Seems to be their specialty.Even though there was only a few people there in the middle of the afternoon, there was a steady stream of customers picking up at the drive-through window. The waitress was very friendly, and she knew everyone who came in by name. Had a nice small-town feel to it. She was admonishing an old man who came in for not having his cane with him, and then she doted over him like he was her favorite grandfather or something. Very nice.I took off a couple of stars for atmosphere because the place is in serious need of upgrade or sprucing up, and the tablecloths were some thick vinyl-like material that didn't want to lay flat.“
“We made a stop on our way toward Mississippi, hungry for something decent on our road session. So we stopped at this place and we were glad that the restaurant was right off the exit! Our food was delicious and had a great portion - the Jalapeño burger was very tasty and the Veggie omelette was a great breakfast vegetarian option! The ambiance may be quiet but the server we had for lunch was very pleasant and attentive! If by any chance you come toward Illinois or I-55, it's a great dining option either way!“
