Talor and Rebecca were such great severs! The Cabernet pared so well with the kc strip and. Frites (I got salad) but then I switched to the espresso martini which paired so well with the fudge stuffed peanut butter cookie! Pairings patter and the staff were great!

I can’t let the night end without giving rave reviews for Tannin. I’ve lived in KC for 10 years, and have been to Tannin a handful of times; it’s always a wonderful experience. Tonight, a group of friends and I gathered there to honor and remember our incredible friend, Krystal - a Tannin regular, who very recently passed on. The staff, especially Barry and our server, Emma, were the epitome of kindness and warmth. The entire experience - from food to drink to atmosphere - was truly unlike any service experience I’ve had anytime recently. And not in a flashy, ostentatious way - in a welcoming and effortless way, like we were visiting a different time. To make the night even more perfect, one of our friends ended up being proposed to, as a complete surprise to all of us! The staff was absolutely “on it” in the most genuine sense, ready with champagne for all of us to enjoy. The emphasis on community and the making of memories is so apparent at Tannin. Thank you to Barry, Emma, and staff for making our night so special; we will never forget your kindness and we will do our best to pass it on! We’ll be back so soon!

We’ve visited Tannin Wine Bar & Kitchen many times, and we’ve had nothing but great experiences here over the years. The staff is always kind and down to earth, and they serve some of our favorite food in KC with a smaller menu. Kris was our latest terrific waiter. He’s someone you’d love to serve your table every time you go out. It certainly feels like Tannin management sets and maintains a high bar for service with their staff, because they are consistently awesome. We enjoyed the cheese board as an appetizer and ordered the Stuffed Pork Chop and Pesto Genovese Gnocchi for the main courses. The cheese board was solid, per usual, but this was the best pork chop I’ve ever tasted, and the gnocchi was delicious as well. We concluded the meal with the Fudge Stuffed Peanut Butter Cookie, which never disappoints! While this bar is known for its extensive wine menu, we keep coming back because of the food, the service and the atmosphere. I’d highly recommend you ask for a booth in the back — it’s a perfect setting to have a quieter evening and enjoy an excellent dinner!Parking: There is a private lot behind Tannin that generally has at least a couple of spots open.

Upscale Flavors & Setting Flavorful food, plenty of drink options Enjoyed: Roasted red pepper hummus with grilled pita bread - great appetizer, hummus served with a ton of pita wedges (equivalent to about 2 full pita breads) Friends at the table also rated the crispy shrimp highly! Tip: I was able to order a roasted chicken breast & potatoes à la carte - SO good! The chicken was juicy with crispy breading. Seasoned warm potatoes to accompany Next Time: Will skip the cocktail & go straight to wine - cocktail just too sweet for what I was wanting Service: Excellent! Our server also generously took our photo before we headed out - facing 2 ways, lots of angles. Very helpful! Ambiance: Classy evening out, can enjoy visiting & tasting for hours Visit: 2.9.24

The service was great and the food was far better than late night bar food has any right to be. I never would have thought about dipping fries in truffle aioli but it was excellent. I have to ding them on the water though, it's undrinkable. I had to have a soda.

Great wine selection, service is hit and miss. On our first visit the service was great but it has since declined. On our last visit, the staff felt like they didn’t want our business.

This is a great wine bar with good food. Our server was super knowledgeable and also gave us lots of other recommendations of places to go in the neighborhood. The tuna and shrimp appetizers were a highlight for our group.

I would 10/10 recommend this place. This is the best burger in Kansas City, hands down. It’s called the Wagyu burger, and it come with these awesome fries made with REAL potatoes. Then you need to get the peanut butter cookie with chocolate on top and get it “Elvis style” because it has banana ice cream on the top and bacon pieces on the side. (Don’t knock it until you try it lol) It was SOO good! Keep doing what you’re doing Tannin’s!

Had dinner at Tannin recently. The happy hour deals were great, especially the crispy shrimp. I had the scallops, which were delicious. My partner had the Amish chicken which was also delicious and cooked to perfection. Our server Lori was so sweet and attentive. We’ll be back for sure!

Absolutely love this place. I've been many times and never had a bad meal. This time though, we came for a girls night with my best friend who was visiting from Orlando. We both choose to partake in the prefix menu and were not disappointed! Highlights for me: The wine pairings are spectacular, it's like having all the guidance of a sommelier without the pretentiousness! I also loved the pork cheek. Not something you see on many menus in KC despite being a delicious cut of meat. My friend loved the Lump Crabcakes and we both raved about the PB cookie later! Overall, I just can't say enough good things about Tannin and the staff. I've been back since this visit and even with the ever-changing menu, you always are promised good food, great wine and an excellence experience.
