“I can’t truly begin to explain how good this was as I don’t have the words for it. This is a very unsuspecting small locally owned and operated establishment a diamond in the rough if you will. It is exactly what I want to see in a place such as this. Very home hearth feeling with a fun side. Tucked away by the river one would never know what treasures await them there. The food all made to order fresh “never frozen” seafood and land fare. Worth the wait. Service cheerful and happy but not annoyingly bubbly. House made sauces and side are awesome. We had the daily double which was like a sampler platter type. We got the gator, shrimp, chicken , and catfish. Our sides were double fries, potato salad, and slaw. We also ordered crab cake, hushpuppies, and a cup of jambalaya (very large portion glad we didn’t say bowl) all were great and some with their own spin on side dishes. Everything was well portioned and more than the three of us could eat. We also had jalapeño cornbread and the strawberry cake (get the cake you wont be disappointed) it is served cold. Bad sides; If they are super busy parking can be hard to find, bathrooms are single person but relatively clean. They do have a small bar as well with signature drinks. I recommend you try it, if you’re in a hurry go during non peak hours to avoid parking issues or a long wait. I wouldn’t recommend large parties and if you do have maybe call ahead to see if they can accommodate as seating is kinda limited due to the size of the building.Parking: Parking during peak hours can be hard to findKid-friendliness: They do have a kids menu.”
“Spent a perfect spring day with my best friend setting outside having a couple great beers. Mary took great care of us and was a gracious and friendly host. Ask for her when you're here!”
“I continue to love this place. The French toast is delicious!!Love this place! Their pork tenderloin sandwich is huge and delicious! Oh, their apple slaw too! I wish I had taken a photo!”
“I’ve been here twice! Chicken chorizo tacos and barbacoa tacos are delish. Enchiladas didn’t disappoint either. Kiddo loved the quesadilla. This is authentic Mexican food. ?”
“I got the KC strip with steamed veggies and a Ceasars salad ? I have my steak well done and it was cooked to perfection. This location never disappoints. Super fast service with very friendly workers. We usually do car side pick up.”
“We had a lot of fun at the this cat cafe. So many friendly kitties. The staff were all super nice and the drinks we got were delicious. It sounds like you may need to make reservations on busy days though just FYI.”
“This could be your go to sandwich shop, if you give it a try. The staff is very helpful, friendly......, as well as the rest of the Boy Scout law. Their breakfasts are also excellent. When family members come to visit, they ask to go to Huey's on the Square. As I often see people I know, it is a great gathering spot and several major newspapers are available to read at your leisure. All in all, this restaurant will take you back a little way in time (notice the tin ceiling) but it won't set you back financially.”
“Found on Facebook & sent message, they responded on being gluten free. Showed up they were very helpful, & understood my wife being Celiac, our go to Chinese restaurant.”
“As a first time visitor I was truly impressed from the amazing customer service from the gentleman that was there to the food. Definitely the best wrap I have ever had, I am a big texture person and they hit it right on the head. I am going to be back to for ”
“No atmosphere, incredibly awesome and authentic food. Get takeout, whatever, this food is legit.Vegetarian options: Some good meatless options.Kid-friendliness: No worries about bringing kids here.Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible for all.”
“Best onion rings and fried mushrooms in town! Wish I could get the pork tenderloin as a dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy. Only chicken fried steak in the city worth eating .”
“Really good for a fast food place. Chicken strips are regrettably reformed, instead of natural filets, but the cod filet sandwich is the BEST in the area! Wish more of the custard of the day blends were available all the time!”
“It was busy so we sat at the bar, and we're very glad we did. It was our first visit to Luigi's and the bartender Thomas did a great job. His suggestions for apps, dinner and wine were excellent. His service was top notch and personality wonderful. Not Everly attentive, but very helpful. We'll definitely be going back. Great job Thomas, thanks for making our experience so great.”
“Had a thin crust personal pizza. Very good and I could as many extra toopings as I wanted at no extra charge. My first time at one of these and plan to go again.”
“My wife ordered Jon's Denver omelet and requested spinach instead of the peppers. No problem with the substitution. Omelet was done just the way she prefers. I ordered the corned beef hash with eggs over easy. I also added an order of toast just so I could get the raspberry spread. Corned beef hash was a standard in my parents' home. I hadn't eaten it since I graduated college in 1968 and left home. My mom's version was really good, but Homegrown's was exponentially bette r. Brooklyn was our server. She was pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. A diverse menu of well prepared and presented food with first-rate service at reasonable prices.”
