“We had a family Christmas dinner for 22 over the holidays at Cafe Verona. The food was excellent, and the service was impeccable. Our incredible server, Andy, was attentive to the needs of the adults, teens, and children at all times! He truly made the special evening a success! Everything was set up early, including items for the children, to keep their attention and maximize the time together as a family. All of the dishes were outstanding, and my personal favorite was the mushroom lover's pasta and the lasagna (for my husband). The appetizers of house made hummus, garlic bread, and calamari were also enjoyed by all! If you have not tried Cafe Verona, give it a whirl. You will not regret the decision. Our dinner meals were 5 stars. All of the staff were very friendly and hard working. We had the chocolate tasting for dessert and it was excellent. We highly recommend this restaurant.”

“Many, many years ago" late 70s" when I first had Mugs Up. Lived in kC, Independence, Lees summit. Mugs up was a couple times a week thing. Moved away in 91, back to Ga. Everytime I go to KC, to see family and friends I also have to visit mugs Up, my favorite as well as the Pizza Fun House.”

Went with my girlfriend who had a cinnamon allergy afraid she’d be unable to try much, and the incredibly helpful woman behind the counter went over all of the options, which there were plenty she could have. She went so far as to highlight all the items on a menu we could take home and reference later.

That’s a lot about the amazing service, but let’s talk cake. It’s a perfect combination of textures while being super smooth, almost creamy and so incredibly flavorful and not overpoweringly sweet. The lemon blueberry was an instant favorite.”

“Great food. I had about everything on the menu. Steak used in tacos and other dishes is sometimes a little hit and miss (a bit gristly at times). Tamales preparda and tacos Brianna are great. Agua frescas are authentic. I saw an older gentleman sitting in the corner shelling fresh tamarindo for them. Clientele is mostly Hispanic so they wouldn't be there if it wasn't authentic. Large Corona familiar beer and 64oz salt rimmed Micheladas being enjoyed across the restaurant. Try it.”

I would recommend going there 5 minutes before closing, it's when it's the best time to go because all of the employees are cleaning up and they now have to get everything back out to serve you. “First whataburger in like 30 years since I don't live near them. Just wanna give thanks to such great staff for welcoming service on a Saturday evening: quickly providing good, and hot food, asking if we needed condiments, and with a smile. I won't review the food, since that's a personal opinion we each have about a fast food chain. For me it was delicious, but I went there with the assumption it would be. The good service was key to 5 stars.”

“Yes, Dennys has been there a long time. Yes, the culture of people that will eat there has changed. But this resturant is one of the good ones. Its a survivor, for sure. At this place, a certain waitress deserves recognition. If you go to Dennys, on Noland Rd, and Deliverance is your server, ypu will enjoy prompt attention, a genuine smile, and excellent service. She will not desert you, she will check on you, keep your coffee warmed up. She fixes wonderful, generous side salads, and every person that eats there is her friend. She also stays busy, and is always helpful to her team members. I want to honestly say she is a 5 star server, in a 2 star clientele, at a 3.5 star location. As for the location, the cook is a black dude, wears a red Royals hat, and boy howdy, is he ever a good cook. Dont hesitate to go there. You mifht have to put up with big fat entitled mammas who act like the world owes them, with 8 screaming kids, but you will get good service, and good food.”
