“When I went here when Kari's first opened I was pretty disappointed, but I'm glad I gave them time to start their new business and another try a year later! This time the chicken shawarma was delicious, the baba ganoush was delicate and packed with flavor, their lentil soup was beautifully spiced. “This place has the best steak tartare and filet mignon that I’ve ever had. The filet was so tender and juicy… simply the best. My family and I go every Christmas and it’s one of my favorite traditions because this place is so good!Kid-friendliness: My family and I go with everyone above 11 years old. That means that occasionally there may be a temper tantrum with the little ones but the staff always does their best to manage possible pickiness and short tempers.“

“The sea salt dusted mocha chip cookie is amazing. The cappuccino was equally good. My only “complaint” is, why ask me if my order is to go or here. When I answer, “I’m going to savor the cookie and coffee here”, please don’t put the cookie in a paper bag and the coffee in a paper cup. I feel like I’ve been given a doggie bag. I am a guest in your place of business, and I’ve come in to relax, recharge and enjoy some quiet time; instead I felt rushed, drained and overwhelmed by the loud music.“

“I woke up with a Jones for a cinnamon roll. Knew Anita's was there, but had never been, so I rolled up. It maybe the biggest mistake of the day. The cinnamon roll is so good. It's going to be difficult for me to avoid going into the shop every morning. Now for the die hard it's actually not a traditional rolled up roll. It's more like a cinnamon roll center- like you don't have to fight the outside tough edge to get to the heart of the rolls- this is all cinnamon roll heart!!! it is fantastic. Taste texture just like a cinnamon roll but without the hard outer layer!!! The entire thing is like the center part of a cinnamon roll. I will definitely be back for these. I also want to try the quiche, the pop tarts and the stuffed rolls!!!“

“I went a while ago, but this place was so cute and the staff was super nice. I got the prix fixe meal which came with a drink, entree, two sides, and a dessert for $20 which was amazing. I also love that they have changing lunch specials every week, it makes the menu really unique and you always have something new to try, and I did get a special as my entree. Everything I had was so good, and I have been trying to find the time to go back.“

They also replaced the drink he dropped.“

“Kome sushi has always ultra fresh and very tasty sushi. My partner and I get take-out from them every Friday night and always comment on the freshness. The owner is hard-working, nice, and cares about getting things right. Our orders are always exactly what we ordered, including special requests. This is the best sushi in The Northland if not all of KC.“

Knocked off a star due to limited seating and when we ordered our coffee no one told us to wait at a counter (they deliver the rest of your food), so we ended up not getting that until we finally asked. When we did ask the server she just said oh they call your name (music plays loudly inside so no way you can hear unless you're right there) and leave it at the bar for you, and then she walked off.“

“For our last meal in KC we booked The Farmhouse for breakfast. Located nearby City Market it is a wonderful and very busy farm to table place. I ordered the brisket tamale with eggs, Cotija cheese, and microgreens. It was fantastic. I never get fresh tamale as back east and this was a joy to eat. Every bite was fantastic. My Daughter got the lemon ricotta pancakes with a side of bacon. She loved it. The coffee was good and string a d the service was exceptional. If I'm in KC again this is a definite. Awful I tend to get excited about tots, so when they are over cooked it is a real downer.“

“I can't believe it has taken me this long to write this review. This place is the go-to for my husband and I. We love the food (esp. the brunch), and drinks, but the real standout is the service. We love sitting at the bar and always hope that Christopher is working. He is hands down one of the best bartenders I have ever encountered. He is so friendly and professional. His recommendations never disappoint and he makes the best drink I have ever had (the spicy pear martini). The other bartenders and servers are great as well, but Christopher really stands out. You can tell he takes so much pride in his work and makes the already great experience at Trezo Mare that much better.“
