Eating here is a must if you visit St Louis. My boyfriend and I went two days in a row. The service was amazing, the sushi is very high quality, it comes out quickly, and the cheesecake tempura is divine. 10/10
Amazing sushi and rolls very good
I bit into something crunchy in my DoorDash order and it was... a bent metal staple. Inside plastic packaging, inside a plastic bag. It didn't just fall in there during delivery; this was part of the food prep. How the hell does that happen???

Kampai Sushi Bar is a highly recommended restaurant, considered one of the best sushi places in St. Louis and the central west end. The menu features a variety of delicious sushi rolls, including the spicy tuna and rainbow roll, as well as the incredible volcano roll and phenomenal eel hand roll. The chicken teriyaki was soft and delicious, and the gyoza were perfectly crispy and tender. The owner and the staff are very sweet, polite, and professional, with service described as prompt, courteous, and kind. The restaurant offers a unique experience with sake flights and the option to have the chef surprise you with a meal. The atmosphere was fantastic. The prices were very reasonable and in line with a good sushi place. While the food was overall delicious and beautifully presented, on a Saturday night, the food came out a little slow.
