Traveling into St Louis, Missouri is a bit tenuous because nobody wants to land in East St Louis like on the original “Vacation” movie. We were just not that familiar with St Louis geography (nobody uses paper maps anymore). Our destination was the Chain-of-Rocks Bridge on our Route 66 quest. I visited around 4:40 pm on 12/18/2021. There was a very polite, well spoken, young man working. I think he was new because I've never seen him before. Normally when you go to most fast food places, the workers are just trying to get through their shift. I get it. It's just a job. But it's a nice change of pace when a worker seems to be appreciative of your patronage which this young man seemed to be. For once I didn't have to strain to understand what someone was asking.
