“Good restaurant, atmosphere was nice and very easy to park. I'd stick to the small plates if I went back, nice to share with others and you get a good sampling of what they have to offer. The cocktails were good and the food was pretty well prepared. Ingredient quality seemed to be so-so, but that's been the case with a lot of restaurants in Asheville lately. Not top-notch, but not bad either.“
“At Jettie Rae's Oyster House in Asheville, folks, I embarked on a seafood escapade that rocked my taste buds to the core! Picture this: Mussels so sublime, they practically waltzed onto my palate, and the branzino – oh, that branzino – a flavor fiesta that had me questioning if I'd stumbled upon seafood nirvana! ?? And let me tell you, if you're thinking of hitting this place, make reservations because it's a flavor party that gets packed faster than you can say "delicious!" Lol Massive shoutout to the stellar service and a staff so friendly, they're practically your seafood soulmates! ???“
“Had a wonderful experience at Daddy Mac’s today. The Pickle-Brined Chicken Sandwich was delicious. I loved the ‘down home’ feel of this place, complete with Mason jar desserts and a really unique and varied menu. Logan was an amazing server - was super friendly and attentive, and proactively brought to-go boxes and bags. If you are in the area, make this place a priority and ask for Logan!“
“This place makes an excellent martini (with blue cheese olives). It's a cool environment, somewhat crowded, but the busy-ness adds to the appeal. I think they shine more in cocktails than in food. The burger is made with American cheese, to its detriment. Burrata was good, and the table tried some small Spanish-style fish. We had another OK pasta dish as well. Less likely to return for a meal but happy to come for drinks + apps.“
“such a cool tour, Franco was our tour guide and he was so funny and made a good environment to ask questions! really cool that they allow tours and the info they share is really interesting! it’s free and not super long so it’s a fun short thing to do, plus they have good merch and a cute cafe in “
“Absolutely love this place! Almost scared to rate it so high and encourage others to stop in. But they truly do deserve it. Wonderful staff always available to answer questions and give insight on their vast menu of specialty cocktails and Mezcal flights. Amazing atmosphere offering both inside and outside seating with heaters to take the edge off the winter temperatures. It is a small building/occupancy but I think it truly adds to the ambience of the space. And to top it off the food truck parked just behind is amazing.Parking: Lot between the brewery and Anoche has plenty of parking. Also a few spots on the street.Kid-friendliness: Not a location I would recommend taking your kiddos.“
“The atmosphere and drinks were amazing! However we arrived around 5 o’clock and were told no coffee after 4pm - but they had coffee for cocktails. It was upsetting for our designated driver who was looking forward to enjoying a coffee while we had cocktails. Hoping this rule will change so we can enjoy a responsible night out in the future!“
“I almost skipped on this recommendation on the menu being mostly pizza.. but everything from the olives, anchovy appetizer, to the Bianca and the Parma was all 5/5! Service and atmosphere was to match. I would put this food against some of the best pizza I’ve had— to include even in Italy!I can only imagine those who rated it low were only due to it being too busy or having to wait. We went at around 6/630 and it was right before a dinner rush. Highly recommend.“
“Grade A++ tiki experience. Excellent service. Got three drinks, one a bowl, all absolutely excellent. The decor is spot on. Only issue was music could have been island tropical but was blues. But I like the blues too. Just not right for the vibe for the decor. But 100% recommend anyone who is tired of all the beer to pop in here and escape to Bali hai.“
“Hands down best wings I’ve had. They were so crispy and the sauces were phenomenal. We got the crack sauce and the Carolina jerk. The onion rings were top notch and made completely in house and the mac and cheese bites were super gooey. All around awesome place, my wife and I will be back soon.“
“Enjoyed getting there at opening time to pull up to the bar and chat with the bartender and staff about liquor and cocktails and the establishment. Very cozy spot with lots of nooks and crannies to sit in and a dark academia theme that makes it look like it’s been there for over 100 years. It’s clear they care about their products and their cocktail menu and we will definitely be back again when we visit Asheville to see what’s new.“
“I went into the Crow and Quill to get a night cap on my birthday. The service was amazing. Both bartenders were so sweet and accommodating. They made my birthday really special. I had the best gin and tonic ever (not kidding). I will definitely be coming back.“
“We had absolutely wonderful service & delicious cocktails during our visit in Asheville. Meticulously crafted cocktails by a very knowledgeable mixologist (can’t remember his name). We will definitely be back next time we’re in town.“
“This place ROCKS!! I LOVE what these guys & gals are doing for our community. Their ginger beer/soda/craft cocktails are all delicious and so tasty. Check out their specialty cocktails which constantly change with the seasons. Love the large, open space surrounded by pallets of cans, making you feel truly immersed in the product. The location is great and close to everything in Asheville along with plenty of parking. Do yourself a favor and do not miss this place!“
“I love coming here for multiple reasons:Coffee here in the mornings is good and I can focus on my work in a comfortable environment. I do some of my work on my laptop and feel this is a great place to do that. For dinner, the food is delicious! You pay for what you get here. The quality is very good. I recently had the wings and they were fantastic.I’ve come here for a beer or cocktail every once in a while too. They have a nice porch so you can enjoy the weather as well.If you’ve been thinking about trying this place and haven’t yet, you’re missing out! Give them a try and you won’t regret it. You’ll wish you had gone sooner in fact.“
“The sort of thing you would expect to find in Asheville, this is a retro shop that prints vinyl records and also has a large cafe. I missed the tour, but stopped in for a quick bite. Their chai was heavily spiced with an intriguing flavor and only a hint of tea aftertaste. The pastry they had on display actually wasn't that great, but I took a nice and chewy chocolate chip cookie to go. The cafe was large and would be a nice place to sit.“
“We had a great breakfast this past weekend. The Lowland Breakfast Bowl is must try. Our server/bartender was so attentive and nice. We will definitely go back the next time we visit AVL. Only advice to management, if you are going to have your front desk staff in the same room as the restaurant you should cross train them to help the restaurant front of house. For most of our breakfast, there was two of them doing very little as they watched the server have to work her tail off to take care of dining customers. If the front desk would just bus tables, pour waters and say goodbye when we left it would have made more sense. I was embarrassed for them on how useless they looked just sitting there.“
“Amazing seasonal fare served at a 'dolce vida' pace. Service was wonderful, and at whatever speed you wanted. Reservations are a must. They have a great wine list too. They also have a "family dining" option for $75 per person which is a great sampling of many items in the menu that night.“
“A favorite spot for an upscale-but-not stuffy dinner, esp. for the wide variety of vegan options, inspired tiki drinks, and relaxed ambience. Service has been great both visits, friendly and super helpful with recommendations!Enjoyed everything ordered here, and they have big portions if you’re hungry.-Lumpia-Teri Beef (Tofu) - great flavors (especially the wasabi mash, which is VERY good), but a bit overpriced with the marinated tofu substitute.-Belly bowl - so good — great flavor combos, big portion.-Poke Bowl - highly recommended-Taro Chips - perfect sweet and salty accompaniment to their tiki drinks. As far as drinks: the painkiller with guava is an instant teleport to the beach, and the mauna kea is adventurous and delicious, almost like a tom kha cocktail. We’ll be back, thanks yall.Vegetarian options: Many options and substitutions (even with a meat-heavy menu), and they’re ready with recommendations.“
“We LOVED our experience at the Golden Pineapple! It was our first time there, we've heard a little about it. The drink menu is very fun and has something for everyone. Non alcoholic and alcoholic options. We both had the Bodega sandwich and it was one of the best sandwiches we both have ever had! Everything about the sandwich was incredible and the side salad was so delicious! The atmosphere was nothing short of pleasant. Fantastic place. We will definitely be coming back.P and J“
“absolutely stellar cocktails and awesome vibe. so happy to stumble on this place and would definitely come back. you can tell the bartenders know what they're doing. the spitting devil was 10/10 and the perfect daiquiri is accurately named.“
“Perfect spot for lunch! BEAUTIFUL view and ambience on the patio overlooking the mountains and the beautiful resort. Excellent service and delicious food! Salmon salad was delicious. Great quality and perfectly cooked! Short rib sandwich was to die for and the hamburger and fries were great! Wouldn't miss stopping by the Grove Park even if you aren't staying at the resort.“
“This was my first time here and had phenomenal time. The vibes and decor were beautiful and perfect. The food was very delicious, with different kinds of small plates. We were treated very well by our waitress and staff. I will highly recommend this place. Surely will be “
“The food and service were fantastic! However, the reason I will return every time I visit Asheville is not actually food related. The owners fed their employees and their families the entire time they were shut down for Covid. The owner’s husband is involved in many global humanitarian projects. While I was reading the Cantina’s historical wall display, the researcher responsible for the wall came and spent about 20 minutes chatting with me about the area’s history. I was moved by life work of the people associated with the restaurant and will return in support of goodness in the world.“
“My “food” rating is actually for the drinks — Little Jumbo is my favorite cocktail bar in Asheville.Parking: Parking across the street at Five Points Restaurant (which is closed when Little Jumbo is open). I’ve never had a problem finding a spot.“
“This place is almost on my top five chill hangouts in Asheville. The bartenders were friendly. The ambiance was neat, they had a bunch of antique, dark wood furniture, the only thing that I disliked was the TVs. It’s a cigar lounge, a place to hangout and spend time with other connoisseurs. If you want a sports show, go to a sports bar. If they took out the TVs, this place would definitely hit my top five.“
“Nice space to come hang out and eat tasty food. My only feedback is the brussels could’ve been more crispy, but our entrees were great. My partner said it was the best blackened chicken sandwich she’s had. We enjoyed the warmer lighting and music! We just moved to the area, this is somewhere we’ll return to for sure!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free buns“
“The bar is good. Have lots of options and budget friendly. If you are looking for a calm and a good discussion with your friends without too much music thien i recommend this. Vijay who handles the bar is awesome and will give you all the options for you to choose from. Had a good experience.“
“I had an incredible dinner with my husband for my birthday on Friday night. We don’t often rave about a restaurant and BOTH of us absolutely loved everything about Proper. Service, food, decor, speed, lighting....5 stars keep it up!! By the way we ate early and will do this again.“
“Fantastic!! Waiter was Cassidy he was very nice and welcoming with great knowledge of the menu, this was our first time there and was so relieved to find a great noodle stop as we have tried others and were highly disappointed but not here. We got the dynamite shrimp , so creamy and just a hint of heat, we got the kids ramen so next extra stuff just the noodles and broth and those had great flavor they approved!! I got the deluxe ramen with the black garlic oil and pork belly so bold and smooth, and we got the spicy ramen which had a great heat level and my husband loved. Over all great food worth the price which wasn’t super high , nice environment with great music choice would highly recommend!!!! Thanks again Cassidy“
“Somehow well-known, yet still an early walk-in, so off the "local secret" list. In similar balance, the experience is up-scale Asheville casual. Expect it to be a little pricey. Composed, semi-seasonal menu, not pretentiously obfuscated. Good ingredients conservatively elaborated, leaning toward French full-flavor. Service is professional without being stuffy or hovering. If accustomed to fine dining, appropriately AVL-relaxed; if new, not intimidating.-=-Setting expectations after reading other reviews: allow adequate time. The menu favors multiple courses and conversation. Think, "leisurely double-date with a short walk," if going to a show after dinner.“
“Fantastic last minute dinner choice! If Haley is your server, you'll be well looked after. Highly recommend the dill pickle guacamole, margarita flight, (seriously impressive - met my high standards ) and the brisket tacos! Oh! And the avocado verde salsa! Everything was delicious!“
“I attended a First Aid Kit concert here in the fall. Despite terrible weather and a rain delay, I enjoyed this venue. Despite being outside, the acoustics are still very good. The decor is fun, and the merch lines were set up well so that the lines weren't too long. I'd attend a concert here again.“
“Nice gem of a bar, at the base of Lexington Ave. in Asheville. Ample parking across the street. Has great music ?. Great bartender, too. Cool place to socialize. Has an outdoor patio area in front for smokers with a big open front window so you can hear music outside.“
“Perfect little cocktail bar with great service, great drinks, and a great atmosphere inside and out. The outdoor area is my favorite place in RAD. Grab a Paloma and sit outside to people watch.Vegetarian options: No meat in these drinksParking: Lots of street parking all around the barWheelchair accessibility: Roll on in!“
“The rooftop bar was great. Delicious food great service. But the hotel staff and rooms SUCK. WE paid 289.00 a night for a room with NO TV which I kinda DUMB ! Anyway we will not ever stay here again. Front desk folks are jackasses rude. We had our reservations over a week for a room as we were traveling here from Amelia Island Florida. It took over 35 minutes to check in they had our reservations all screwed up. Absolutely a joke I've never experienced anything like this at a hotel. Our total experience was CRAP except for the rooftop bar. I give the folks up there working a 5 star rating.“
“Fidel was so amazing!! thank you for being such a fantastic bartender and being the absolute best! The ambiance is wonderful! Our martinis were so delicious and we had a phenomenal time!!! GIVE HIM A RAISE OR ELSE I WILL CRY!!!! I LOVE THIS MAN, THE BEST EVER!! smart too“
“Fun place to visit. Great views from the rooftop, some outside seating although there may be some reservations needed for certain sections. The staff was super friendly and very helpful in making suggestions and getting drinks served quickly.“
“Holy smokes! What a wonderful bar and extremely knowledgeable bartenders. I wish I could stop there, but Tony and Nick are super friendly and make you feel at home. We tried a lot of cocktail bars in Asheville and kept going back to them for the best cocktails in town. Talk about the utmost of care and service, Kyle, the manager looked out for every need we had. We will go back every time we are in town!“
“Located on the top floor of the Restoration Hotel in downtown Asheville, The Observatory Rooftop Bar is a cool spot with nice vibes and tasty food. We went there on a busy Friday night and grabbed seats at the bar. The bartender was friendly and made killer drinks. We tried some fancy drinks like the Lavencello and Pisco Sour, which were really good. Prices are a bit high so we opted for just drinks and appetizers. We dug into the Steak Tartare and Chicken Nachos, which were big and yummy, especially with the extra white hot cheese. The balcony overlooking downtown was lovely, all lit up with twinkling lights. Even though it's a bit pricey, The Observatory Rooftop Bar is worth it for a special night out in Asheville.“
“It was a really nice and chill place. We had a great brunch. They handled our group of 11 with ease. If in the area, I’d go back.Kid-friendliness: Our kids were very comfortable and they made concessions with the menu items to accommodate the kids. They pretty much told us tell us how you want it and we can make it.“
“The customer service here is literally UNMATCHED! We had the bartender JASON who was seriously ICONIC! and I wish I can bring him back to Miami with me ! Omg the drinks he made us were so good! And he’s so amazing and personable! He was like on point when we were ready to take pics! He knew exactly what I needed when I told him what I was already drinking before I got here. He even changed the channel to espn with a smile on his face ! He cracked jokes too ??. But seriously ! The food was sooo good! Seasoned ! The buffalo cauliflower was TOP TIER! And the chicken sandwich woooooo!! (Rick flair!) omg to die for ! Mouth watering ! Ok I’m done because I can literally go on and on about JASON and this amazing establishment !! Thank you so much for great customer service ?“

“We had a delightful time! Our server Smyly was attentive, friendly, informative, and made our dining experience extra special by acknowledging our anniversary. Pimento cheese hush puppies with comeback sauce were a perfect starter. Silky goat cheese burrata w/strawberries led to fresh tarragon and trout row with oozy egg yolk over asparagus. The black garlic half chicken has an amazing flavorful skin with juicy chicken but the star for us was the pillowy ricotta w/duck ragout. Thanks Smyly and Rhubarb for a lovely evening!“
“We ate brunch at the Exchange and it was excellent. Food and service were great. Savannah took great care of us and even surprised us with a slice of cake for my wife's birthday. Definitely recommend the basket of pastries for the table.“
“Always a fantastic experience. Handcrafted cocktails in a classy environment. Chill on the rooftop patio or in the cozy interior. This isn't the place to order a vodka soda, peruse the menu and order a classic cocktail or one of their current specialties, it's completely worth it!“
“We had the most delicious dinner of arroz con pollo (perfectly cooked chicken with the most delicious rice and fried plantains) and camarones con coco. Eman was the most attentive, kind server who gave us great recommendations and checked us on us the perfect amount of times. Thank you Eman for taking good care of us! You’re the best!“
“Was a really fun new place to try! Food was a bit experimental, especially if you’re going all vegetarian, but the details in the menu show a lot of love and care put in. Since the menu rotates so much, we’ll have to go back and try more. “
