“The Salted Caramel Mini Cheesecake is the best thing I've eaten in a long time!! It's memorable enough I made a point to leave work early one day to snag another. I've never had anything bad from here, but some things really stand out. The Blueberry Muffins are also a hit at my house.”
“It's what you'd expect from a resort restaurant: rather slow service and expensive. We had the chicken tenders, fries, and a hamburger. The food tasted decent, and it was warm. But we waited 20 minutes for it, and paid $30. We packed a picnic every other day and brought our own drinks while spending the day at the pool. We also got ice cream one evening, which cost us over $20 for 4 - one scoop ice cream cups.”
“We finished our family trip to Jellystone with a character breakfast here. The food was delicious, the view was incredible, and the staff was great. Highly recommended for breakfast!Kid-friendliness: Games for the kids to play in the yard.Parking: Big parking lot right out front.”
“I'm a firm believer in supporting small businesses. Hope House gives towards a worthy cause, locally owned and a much better vibe than any Starbucks could offer. Not to mention the coffees are excellent and you'd be hard pressed to get a better muffin anywhere. Staff is always courteous and attentive.”
“Food was absolutely amazing! I’ve had lots of jerk chicken and this was by far the best! The greens were seasoned perfectly and the mac n cheese was just how I like it. Highly recommend!”
“We love Maples on Main! Everything we’ve tried has been freshly made and DELICIOUS! The staff and owners are super friendly and welcoming! We had the Nitty Gritty bowls for breakfast this morning. YUM! I’m super picky when it comes to pastries but their cinnamon roll was an easy 10/10 and fresh out of the oven. We highly recommend going to Maples on Main for amazing food and a friendly atmosphere!”
“Good place, cordial and careful attention. Food very good portion size. Very well prepared. Very economical prices!! This is the best option in the entire town. Very good Don Ramón!”
“I had some plans to meet some friends in Forest City so i googled coffee shops and found this one! When i saw the picture of the vault i knew i had to go. I tried an iced vanilla chai latte for the first time and it was soooooo good! I said in the pink chair by the window and read my book for a while. I loved the atmosphere and the music. I will be back to try a sweet!”
“I liked it ok. The guys working there were great and I loved the set up and atmosphere. There were also a lot of different ice cream flavors to choose from and samples if your not sure which to choose. It's a cute little place.”
“The only spot I get my beans from! Also I'm in online grad school, so I have to get creative to stay interested. I love my weekly school work days on Sundays while Liz is working!”
“Slim's hamburgers are very, very good! ! ! And the onion rings are sssoooogood! ! The staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient.Would definitely eat there again.”
“Went in for coffee to celebrate buying a property. I had the monday special coffee which was lovely. Good prices. Also muffins fresh that day so just had to have one of them too! Very friendly and a nice place to hang out.Parking: Street parking all along main st so just depends on how busy the town is.”
“Finally tried Mario's, and I'm upset with myself for waiting so long. Having spent quite a bit of time in the Mediterranean with the Navy, it's refreshing to get the "farmhouse" experience again! Mario's is a super typical, ambiance neglected family style restaurant that you find everywhere in Southern Italy. The owners, despite the length of time spent in the US, run it just like they would back in the old country. Almost no staff, 70's and 80's decor, random music you can barely hear playing from decades old speakers...and the most authentic tasting Italian food I've had in a very long time. Everything about Mario's is utterly perfect for what it is. If you know, you know. And it is blessing they are located in Forest City NC. The lack of a broader customer base is allowing them to continue running the restaurant the way they want to, rather than watering it down to appease sheer masses. If you are in the mood for your Italian Grandma to complain you are looking too thin and to "Eat! Eat!" as she gives you two people's worth of food on a single plate...Mario's is your place!”
“We stopped here for something to drink and eat! We were so surprised after trying their Pepperoni pizza! Their pizzas were so amazing and the service was wonderful! Will definitely be back!!!!”
“Pet-friendly deck seating was perfect for us to enjoy pizza & draft beer with our pup at sunset.Try the spicy buffalo cauliflower appetizer! Yummy! The large serving was enough for a snack while our pizza cooked & to reheat the rest in our air fryer the next day.”
“This place has the best breakfast, hands down. The coffee might not be top-notch, but the food is exactly what you want from a greasy spoon and it's ridiculously cheap.”
“I have lived in this county for 10+ years & I had never eaten here until Friday night. I did order food at 8:10 p.m. ( They close @ 9 ) by phone & was told they were busy ( which I appreciated that they communicated that information. ) When I arrived to get my food, I did have to wait. Others were waiting as well. Lady apologized ? ??? about the wait to all of us. She was very polite. ( I'm not sure how many they have working in there either. ) All I know is the Egg Rolls ... ??????????????? ???? ?'?? ???? ???!!! They were sooooo delicious. I didn't get a picture of them because we all dug in... ??♀️??♀️? The food was fresh & amazing. The Orange Chicken & Shrimp Fried Rice were my favorite. & the Crab Rangoons ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️ Y'all.... If you haven't eaten here, give it a try! I have been missing out!Only issue I did have was we were missing an item from the order ? but again, they were slammed & I understand that.Dietary restrictions: I have a lot of restrictions & I ate comfortably. Everything was so delicious.Parking: Large parking area available. Plenty of spaces.”
“Crystal always greats you with a smile. She knows all of the regulars by name, and she is just an absolute sweetheart. The food is nothing short of amazing. Wonderful little food place on the side of the road. Food tastes the same every time. It gets really busy at lunch, don’t let that intimidate you, the food is well worth the wait.”
“The building they are in has been several eateries, but now this Hispanic restaurant is in there, and so far as 1st time consumers, it was delicious!! Definitely looking forward to trying some more plates & the way they have it arranged it is mucho better.”
“I'm from Chicagoland, and he's from New York. Yet, this is the first pizza on which we agree... one of the best pizzas either of us have ever had in all of our travels. Every bite. Great atmosphere, cute town, nice early spring evening post-bicycle ride. Thank you!”
“Great place to eat.Parking: Sorry, I don't know much about regular parking because I always use handicap parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking is available and wheelchair accessible into restaurant.”
“Food was fantastic! I got a number 14 and the chili Reno came out wrapped in a soft thin dough ball, which I've never seen before, but it was delicious. The burrito was on point and the rice actually had flavor. The cheese dip was super good, over great experience and food. I wish I didn't live so far away it would become my new favorite spot.”
“I’m a sucker for garlic knots and these were great, I just needed marinara sauce to go with them(I got a to-go order). I also got a 12” pepperoni and it was real good. I am biased because I worked for Louie, his food was different and no place around here can compare. With that being said I still enjoyed my meal from South Side and will eat there again and try different things. ❤️”
“Love it! I came in for donuts and coffee - both of which are absolutely DELICIOUS! Both were very fresh. The shop is VERY clean, and I was helped by wonderfully kind people. I will be back every time I’m in the area. Thank you! SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES!!!!!Parking: Free parking directly in front of the storeKid-friendliness: Nice atmosphere, no obvious hazardsWheelchair accessibility: Parking is directly in front of the business on a flat, even surface. All menus/displays are clearly visible to reduced height. Register and service counter is at functional height.”
“The best and most authentic Mexican food you will find!! Never had anything that wasn't amazing from here. Tortas with al pastor is my favorite go to but the beef stew on Sat and Sun is sooo go too! They do have daily specials that are not on the menu they're happy to tell you about if asked ? the also occasionally have birria and let me tell you it's good???”
“Why did it take me 2.5 years to finally come here!!! Well. I'll be back. The pad Thai. You cannot go wrong with it. The tum yum soup. Flavor Straight from Thailand!! Wow just wow. Very good! They were packed (which is a good thing)”
“Driving through town and saw this place and decided to stop, and it was completely worth it! Food was great and the guy who runs the place is really cool! We got the nachos, burger, and hot honey chicken sandwich and they were all great! They are a scratch kitchen so everything was made fresh for us!”
“I love this place, our first icecream of the year! Was a little chilly for icecream but oo so good.Kid-friendliness: They have a corn hole set up for anyone to enjoy”
“Hometown sort of dining experience featuring homemade chicken entrées and more, with great vegetable sides, bar with beer on tap, kids' menu, highchairs...etc. Dated interior and furnishings but that just adds all the more to its charm and relaxed atmosphere. Great country comfort food and similar sort of appeal!”
